I'd forgotten how damp Grahtwood is. All this moss! So green, but underneath it's slimy, just like the forest it grows in.

Oh, don't think I'm completely bitter. Valenwood can be a good place to live, if you follow the Pact. But if your tribe is as strict about the Green as mine, one misunderstanding and you are out! Even if you are just a silly greensap like I was all those years ago.

I left home in disgrace. One little bowcrafting experiment and suddenly you're an Oathbreaker! And all that meat. Urgh. Anybody with half a brain knows that the best time to attack a Bosmer tribe is three days after the last battle, when we're half-asleep with our bellies full to bursting. But anyway, when I left I was still barely able to survive in the forest. I fled for the nearby borders of Elswehr, and stumbled across a Baandari caravan picking through an old ruin. They were terrified at first, thinking I was a scout for a raiding party, but when they realised I was alone and scared they took me in without question. That's the thing about the Khajiit traders - they may have very different ideas on who that coin in your pocket really belongs to, but they will always help out someone when they need it. The noble Altmer could learn a lesson from them.

They took me to Mama Silver's caravan. Mama Silver was known for taking in orphans from all over Tamriel. Khajiit, Argonians, even Orcs, she didn't care if the young ones needed Mama Silver to take care of them. I was older than most of the others, and she soon had me taking over cooking duties. But she also spent her own coin to see that I could keep on making bows and working leather like I really wanted.

We travelled Elsweyr, mostly along the coast, and into the outlying settlements of the Summerset Isles. Mama Silver made sure we didn't get involved in any of the more 'ethically interesting' business of the caravans, but we were in little doubt about how the caravan made it's money. And when there were places that would not let the Khajiit into the settlement, the orphans went in to trade. We didn't even pickpocket - Mama Silver felt strongly that we should be free to live whatever life we wanted when we left the caravans, and not have trouble hanging over our heads.

But trouble came to find me anyway. This war - I didn't want all this death and destruction to touch Mama Silver and the other orphans, so when the war with Molag Bal took me away from them, I didn't go back to Mama Silver. I sent her mail to say I was fine, and that I'd joined the Aldmeri Dominion to fight with the Queen. If only she knew how complicated the story really was...

If you see Mama Silver be sure to say hello and tell her I'm ok. And if you see my little sister-cub Trowzers (our names were a little joke by Mama Silver) tell her to stay out of trouble. She always talked about wanting to visit Kenaarthi's Roost and after what I've seen, goodness knows what trouble she would find there....
