The earlier years of Mereneth's childhood were spent in an orchard run by her parents, then her grandparents after the Dominion armies trailed off the main paths to castles and the City. Her mother and fatherfound the environment much to hostile to raise a young child in, and many of the other Imperials had already fled or joined the cause of the invading mer. Grandpa was resilient, and refused to move until they were forced off of the land. With enough belongings to start anew, Mereneth's parents went off in the direction of Daggerfall's armies, though this decision of alliance was unknown to the child.
Just a few year after her parents left, when Mereneth was 12 and just old enough to begin really missing her parents, the platoon stationed at the nearby castle finally issued her family's removal. Grandpa threw himself into a rage at the news, but Grandma, being more level-headed, filled a backpack up with as much as the little girl could carry, kissed her forehead, and sent her towards the main road. "Do you remember the way you and your mother walked to the city together, young one? Go opposite of that way. Reach the river, gain passage to the Sommerset Isles. You've always dreamed of those beautiful Isles. You're so smart and strong, young one, you'll find your way. And remember, your home will never leave you if you keep fighting onwards to the morrow."
With that last speech of pure kindness from her own race, Mereneth set out towards the docks. Craftsmer who were charmed by the child would give housing and food until the girl could stand on her own feet. She'd learn to live, get into fights in taverns, and remember who not to anger and what manners were necessary. The Mages' Guild would end up using the now-grown Imperial for neutral diplomatic missions. No matter what she became, though, Mereneth would keep on fighting, and praying to the Divines that home was still standing.
((Hello everyone! I'm Mailna. I've been playing MMOs since before I could read the spells I was casting (gaming family), and in every game I play I attempt to roleplay. I'm a bit rusty on TES lore, but I'll learn well enough. I hope to have a good time in this guild, and look forward to a living story within the game.))
