We are looking for members with an interest in organized PvP and PvE!

PvP Leader

A PvP leader will be in charge of organizing PvP events for all members as well as leading them strategically in Cyrodiil effectively in and out of events. We want PvP leaders to promote the use of voice comms for their activities, so Teamspeak 3 and a microphone is required for this position.

Availability:

What are some ideas you have for how to lead?

PvE Leader

A PvE leader will be in charge of scheduling dungeons, adventure zones, and raids for themselves and other members. This will require forming teams for the hardest content. We want PvE leaders to promote the use of voice comms for their activities, so Teamspeak 3 and a microphone is required for this position.

Availability:

What are some ideas you have for how to lead?

I would, perhaps, be interested in the pvp position eventually, but at the moment, I am not focused on Cyrodil.

I can help S'har with the PvE stuff.

Availability: Tuesday-Sunday after 3PM EST. Monday after 9PM EST.

Why do you want to lead? I enjoy leading, and had fun getting eaten by the slaughterfish in Cyrodil & the killer vampire together with my guildies. I held guild 3 together well I feel and would like to keep it up! My biggest downfall was not having a functioning mic..made it very difficult to keep up with communication. However I feel I did a well enough job to be considered for this position.

Thanks :)

Availability is pretty much every day.
I wouldn't mind leading or being part of a small NB hit squad, working on cutting off reinforcements and getting behind their lines.

Once my metal is strong enough, I will use it in glory for the name of Blue Skooma!

Good response so far.

For these roles you will be required to be a good leader, a good organiser and a good player. We will give those that are keen a chance to prove themselves.

I'm not so great with general PvE or PvP but I love the dungeons. I could help out with those possibly.

War.... war never changes, but it definitely evolves
The tactics of war are key to victory, especially in this zerg-friendly game. I can't say I have experience leading PVP Combat, but I've learned a thing or two from the countless RTS i've played. My character is a level 22 now, and once I reach level 30-40 I'd be willing to start giving this a go. I'd play the role of tactician or strategist if anything . I would see myself playing the role of advisor TO the leader, particularly during the early stages. Once we develop a good army, with synergy and combat awareness - then I could see myself playing the role of lead.

I would love to take up the position of PvP leader although I am new to the guild. I have had many experience being in PvP raid groups and would happy to lead on for a change. Although I wish to become Veteran Rank 10 before I commit all my time into PvP organization. I have already created a rough grouping system in regards to healers, dps, scouts, tanks, siege teams, etc. It's long-ish read so if you would like to see, I would be happy to message!

As a guild whose sole purpose is not raiding, how will end game PVE fit into the larger culture of the guild? Will the guild leadership as a whole set some basic guidelines and have PVE leaders work within that brief, or will the rules and tenor be at the sole discretion of PVE leaders? Will different groups have completely different policies, or will some things be the same for all guild runs? A few specific questions;

Who can raid ?

Who decides what builds are ok?

What constitutes a balanced group?

Who can be turned away or kicked?

Who gets loot?

How will conflicts be resolved?

@Gabion:

With my main being a V1 Temp/Tank and primary alt 31 Temp/Healer I can try to answer a few of your questions though I will not even attempt to say that I have all the answers. Apologies if my answers seem too long or short - just going from what I have personally observed works and what doesn't.

Who can raid?
As far as I'm concerned anyone who is level appropriate for what we are running. If we have a few higher end characters in the group the lower cap can be blurred more - but generally the suggested in game levels are a good base point dependant on skill, experience, and ability to listen to those that do have experience.

Who decides what builds are ok?
In a 4-man it is fairly safe to say that you should have a dedicated tank, dedicated healer, and two dps types. I place emphasis on dedicated tank and healer because these are the two who are going to ideally keep the aggro and keep said aggro magnet alive long enough to make it work. As a tank I'll personally choose a light armor healer over any other regardless of class/race, likewise as a healer I will choose a sword/board heavy armor tank over others. With dps I, again personally, am a bit more loose as extra healing or off-tanking can always be helpful. In short, so long as you fill your role well the details are just lubrication in the engine.

Who can be turned away or kicked?
Very rarely have I ever turned away or kicked anyone who was level appropriate. More than your ability and skill the big offenses are an unwillingness to listen to those more experienced and a general bad attitude. Trying to loot every single heavy sack or chest w/o consent of the group are also big offenders in my eyes as these vanish after looted and for the chests can offer experience. (Even if you just pick it and leave the loot.) Play nice and generally you're welcome.

Who gets loot?
I've been in parties where they allowed me to take all the heavy sacks if I didn't touch the chests, and I've been in groups that have meticulously divided the loot as well. Generally though I personally see any dungeon delve or group event as an opportunity for group growth. If I loot a staff from whatever source that I cannot use I'll ask the group. With a group of this "share" mentality things tend to be a lot smoother as it's more for the experience than trying to put yourself above your peers. If there is a member of the group that must have everything divided equally that can be done, but I try to avoid that as it leads to more conflict than just enjoying the experience.

How will conflicts be resolved?
If it is a guild event, assuming it would be, conflicts would be handled by the senior member that was present during the event. Even grouping with people I did not know these have been few and far between so really I'm of the thought that if someone is intentionally trying to cause conflict they may need to rethink their approach. At the end of the day this is a game, there is no loot worth everyone getting their feelings hurt. This is especially true when considering that more often than not crafted gear will be better than anything you pick up as loot (aside from drop-only sets).

Side bar:
Due to the nature of Blue Skooma Co. being primarily an RP guild I don't anticipate nor would I be comfortable with elitist mentality going into PvE events. Even I try to avoid commentary along the lines of this is what you should do and instead say this is what I would do when asked. For me the fun comes from going through and doing these activities with friendly others and the satisfaction upon completion. ((Side, side bar: I'm still looking forward to running a group through EH where not one person dies in the last room. >_>)) Just last night a few of the members and I went through Wayrest and despite them not being quite at level I feel we all had a good time. I hope this has answered your questions and hopefully my thoughts are in line with the general population of Blue Skooma.

I should have stated more clearly that my questions are more about "raid" groups for the 12 person "Trials" not as much about 4 person content. In other games I've played raiding has typically been done with the same group of people on a set weekly schedule for months or years at a time.

Yes, organizing raid teams will be necessary. That functionality can be built in to the website as well.

Once I get up in levels I would gladly do pvp leadership, but I like looking at way to much crap to reach a veteran rank anytime soon.
Also I hate using a mike >.>

This is why we need a PVE leader.

The PvE leaders will handle this. But you are quite right, we are not a dedicated raiding guild. With that in mind I would expect there would be different raids catering to the more casual raider to the hardcore.
