“Ja’Suhn…” A pitch black, horrified face of a male Khajiit with a white windswept patch of hair gazed inwards. Blood began to stream down from his mouth onto his chin.

“Ja’Suhn, you…!” Its voice raised, it began to look angry…

“JA'SUHN, YOU KILLED ME!” The black Khajiit screamed in rage!

Jason Winters suddenly awoke with a loud gasp. The snow white Khajiit clenched his chest, his heart racing, unsure of what he had just witnessed. He looked around him, seeing nothing but a rocky, cold wasteland. Morning was just around the corner, and the Khajiit decided it was time to move. Jason had made a small camp in the middle of the rocky area of Reaper’s March just east of the Falinesti Autumn Site while moving towards the city of Dune. He packed up his camp, put his brown leather armor back on, and drew up his hood. His weapons, a pair of double-edged Altmer swords, hung loosely from his waist. Climbing up a nearby boulder, Jason took in the view of the area around him. It would still be a long journey to Dune.

“Better now than later, I suppose.” He said under his breath. Hopping down the boulder, he set off for the Jewel of the Desert. Heading directly east, he came across what appeared to be a battered-down dam with a stream behind it, flowing in an endless circle around a small island just north-west of Rawl-kha. Jason didn’t mind getting wet, and if there was one thing he learned adventuring alone throughout the Dominion’s territory, it’s that small islands equal some sort of treasure hidden upon it. Crossing the shallow stream, Jason walked upon a pillar of boulders in the middle of this small isle, towering above anything else in sight. He noticed another Khajiit, clad in dark plate armor, tall, and with fur as black as night, leaned up against the stone pillar with his tail moving briskly about. His yellow eyes pierced towards Jason. Paying no attention, the white Khajiit continued across the small isle, shifting his eyes about for treasures.

“You smell like blood.” The black Khajiit said as Jason passed him.

“What…?” Jason replied coldly.

“In that case, are you Mister Winters, by chance? This one was told that he would find you around here somewhere.”

“Yes; but who, pray tell, would have told you that?”

“Mister Winters, this one’s name is Kha’rum. It is… unfortunate that we have to meet under these circumstances, but Kha’rum will be the one to end your life this day.”

The black Khajiit stepped out from the pillar towards Jason. He took a note from the pouch on his side and held it out towards the white Khajiit. When Jason reached for it, Kha’rum snatched it away, stating: “Unfortunately, this one has a policy regarding employers. If you wish to find out, then defeat me. All the information regarding my attempt to kill you and why is listed here.” Kha’rum laid the note down on a nearby rock overlooking the stream. Jason stood still, observing his soon-to-be opponent.

“Only three.” Jason murmured under his breath.

“Are you counting how many lives you have left?” Kha’rum replied with a smile, turning to face Jason.

Jason snickered. That was the second time someone had said that to him.

“Only three openings in your armor. That’s quite impressive, Mister Kha’rum. Usually, most of my opponents have too many openings to count!” Jason said with a happy, mischievous tone.

“However, all I need is one to end you.” Jason’s voice grew ice cold. “I encourage you to reconsider what you’re doing… I’d rather not fight a fellow Khajiit.” In Jason’s mind, something felt… Off. He really did not want to fight this Kha’rum character. As to why, Jason couldn’t determine. Something was wrong, and he couldn’t put his paw on it. Not only was this guy blatantly announcing his plans to murder Jason, but he was giving Jason time to observe and calculate his opponent, and to top it off, Kha’rum was very polite about all of it; and professional, to say the least.

The black Khajiit sighed. He slowly drew a large two-handed sword from his back and held it forward, pointing it towards Jason.
“This one is afraid there’s no other way about this. To be honest, Kha’rum didn’t want to do this to begin with… yet, Kha’rum is left with little choice.”

Jason felt confusion in his heart, something screamed at him not to fight this Khajiit. The note… The note! If Jason could get it and avoid killing Kha’rum, then maybe he could shed light on the situation. Kha’rum closed his eyes and lowered is blade; its tip just barely over the earth. His eyes then opened just slightly, revealing a slight green light emitting from them. Suddenly, there was a loud bang, the dust lifted, and the dark cat vanished. Jason froze, he couldn’t believe what he had just witnessed. The black cat suddenly reappeared in front of him a mere half-second later, sword a mere inch from Jason’s neck!

Jason’s Khajiiti reflexes kicked in, and he bent himself backwards, narrowly dodging the blade, only losing a few chin hairs in the process. As he recovered bringing himself back up, he was met with his assailant’s elbow to his muzzle. Jason let out a gasp as he flew backwards into the stream. As he lay in the stream, eyes underwater but muzzle up, he began to think. What was that just now? Jason had never seen anyone move with speed like that before.

A sly grin formed upon Jason’s lips. “Kha’rum…” He began as he lifted himself out of the water. His eyes began to glow a bright crimson red. His lead lowered, he muttered something to himself as he drew one of his twin blades. Jason lifted his head up, and with a sick smile stitched to his face, he looked unto Kha’rum and said:

"The White Winters Run Red."

I'm gonna be writing this story out over time. The point of it is to introduce Jason's attitude and a bit of backstory as a character and the beginnings of a potential new character to add to the guild. I'll continue this story if anyone is interested in reading it, however if that isn't the case, then I'll discontinue it.
