Communes

Communes are Mini-RP guilds within the Company. They are being formed as a way to get new roleplayers/members involved with the Company in character.
New members will be allowed to join Communes after they are granted Collaborator rank within Blue Skooma.
A Character may only be a member of one Commune at a time.

Commune Leaders will need to have IC character applications/interviews with potential members, to access their ability to RP and their potential to fit in with your particular Commune.
We will be adding Second Managers to assist the Leaders in the Communes, eventually.

We will be adding an Applications page to the Communes Page.

When you add a member to your Commune, use the Edit Note feature on the member's profile to show who is in your Commune.

We are building a new forum for Communes, and SubForums for each Commune to hold roleplays, and discussions.

Temporary Alteration to Guild Acceptance Policies

Due to the influx of new members in the guild that do not roleplay, we are going to temporarily restrict the acceptance of new members to roleplayers only.

There will be an alteration to the Application form.

Applicants who do not roleplay will NOT be approved.

Forum Moderation

Take your role as a Manager/Moderator seriously.

Do not take advantage of it, do not bully the GuildMembers, and do not use your position as an excuse to be a douche.

Do not swing your dick around unless you are in Jo'kyrr's Commune!

Wow.. Sorry I missed the meeting. Looks like a lot got discussed during it! I'll be on, on Monday. Someone can give me some details on all of this. *twitches from RP withdrawal*

The way this one sees it, we advertise as a "Casual RP" guild, but we do LOTS of RP stuff... He wonders if we are misleading people (unintentionally) by saying "Oh, we don't care if you don't RP" but then (to them) shoving RP into their faces. Ebongale's vote: let's make the RP restriction permanent and start going for quality. Even if people don't know how to RP, we can teach them, but still let people know that RP is expected at least (75%? 80%? 100%) of the time.

Just my two gold pieces ;)

I definitely have no problem with moving to be a heavy roleplay guild. Of course, those non-rpers who've already joined would be grandfathered in, but we have at least 200 members if you remove all of the inactives, so we don't really need a bunch of non-RPers to fill the gaps.

I understand that my position is temporary pending, but I would not be against making the restriction heavy and placing a more full focus on RP (grandfathering current active members of course). Even for those who do not feel like constantly roleplaying there is access to up to five guilds so they can distribute between the Company, a crafting guild, PvE, and PvP, while still having a fifth slot open for whatever else they may be interested in. I also am rather fond of the idea of helping to "train" those who are new because not everyone is going to have years of experience in roleplay, most of mine is certainly not in an MMO.

As a side note I'm excited to see the communes really get kicked off and start building some solid diversity within the company and am thankful for the opportunity to show myself capable as a manager.

We started off with the vision of a community style guild with a RP focus. I think we've got the community part going along really nicely, now we just need to merge the community with the RP. The communes will hopefully do that! We've got a lot of members who are keen to RP but they need strong characters and stories to support their forays into the RP realm. As we all know, RP normally centres around a couple of strong characters. That's you guys. :)

We really want to focus on recruiting good roleplayers from here on in.
