Forum Structure.

I've made some changes to the forum structure and have a few more ideas in mind.

Speak your thoughts to J'sarr! Does it work for you? Too many forums, too few? Does it make logical sense? Will J'sarr really make a fine rug, cat?

  This may become redundant if the commune introduction forums take over.
• General Discussion
  
  Self explanatory!
• Events
  
  Overall guild events and ideas. Should communes post their events here as well? Perhaps just list events that the whole guild is invited to?
• The Market
  
  Moved this out of the merchents commune as I don't think it was getting much use. It's a place for anyone in the guild to trade.
• Media
  
  Art, screen shots, etc.
• Off Topic
  
  Silly cat photos 'n stuff.

Roleplay Communes and Story Arcs

• Blue Skooma Company Story Arcs
  
  I think it would be good to have a forum that deals with over all BSC story arcs. We also need a place to put general RP threads (especially those already made), as they don't fit into the "media" forum. I'm not sure what to call it, however.

  I separated introductions from the commune fourms since they were clogging things up a bit. Perhaps it would better labelled as "Character Backstorys" or something to promote actual RP instructions rather than simple greetings. Thoughts?

:dizzy: Ahah so you are the one responsible for all the moved threads LOL I like the idea of a Story Arc thread, Sylvaswift has a story going in Media that would fit well there.

Also what about a place for forum text based RP, like maybe called the Co. Warehouse or the Tavern whatever. So people could advance their stories outside of RP

Seems a good format. Dont think there are too many categories and if one becomes stale we can change that later or add new ones if necessary.

I really like the "Warehouse/Tavern" idea. It would be nice to roll that in with the story arcs as well. *rubs his furry chin* Yes, yes.. this could work.

The structure makes a lot of sense. However, I raise one question: 18+ sections for other communes? There is always the chance that characters who are not companions are going to shack up. There may also be things like torture scenes (I wouldn't know WHO would possibly do that...) which might be RP'd over time on a forum.

On my personal RP board, we have one communal 18+ section, which might be another option, though I hate to intermix the current structure. I rather like being able to check Secrets, and knowing that all posts in there should pertain to Secrets.

Character stories would go in the Warehouse. IC introductions could also go there provided it's in a story format, and not a biography format. Short background info about your characters can be placed into Introduce Yourself.

We're limited in the amount of different forums we can make, because someone will come along and change them again. :roll: This is why I want to discuss it publicly so there's less temptation to "fix" things.

I like everything but "The Warehouse" name and I don't think we need an After Dark RP forum.

So no 18+ content on the forums?

Any thoughts on what "The Warehouse" could be called? Perhaps just Guild Story Arcs and General Roleplay. That's a bit of a mouthful, but I think it needs to be more than "Roleplay Stories" which kinda confuses things.

So are you saying you do not like the idea of having a Text Based RP on the forum? - I am not sure what you meant by "After Dark"

It was my suggestion so perhaps I need to explain it further, here or at a meeting.

E.G - I was a member of the Kingdom-of-Chatalot, it was basically a social forum but entirely in character. One of the places of meeting was a Tavern, but there were many others where people interacted

My thoughts were that people could RP their characters on the forums here in such a make believe meeting place, perhaps one for each commune (or as we are possibly going in another direction now, those groups)

Is a good thing on many levels I think: -

1. Fun & social
2. Helps with character development
3. Increases forum activity and a reason for people to visit and hopefully see other things posted like, information or events etc
