Yes, greetings all! My name is Sky Blu, an Altmer warrior who seeks nothing more than to fulfill his life of the sword, and to help out those who help me. I don't care for crowds or too much for conversation, although I love to keep and be kept company; with the right people. You can usually find me silently in the back of the inn, observing, admiring or contemplating, and sometimes sleeping without anyone (including myself) realizing it. That being said, never be afraid to approach me! I do take kindly to requests, and am always willing to help out those that are grateful. However, if you act like...well, an ass, you can expect a very, very cold plated shoulder, although I rarely ever insult without immense precedence.
Why am I this way? Well, if you'd care to take a moment, I'm going to tell a story of how I got to where I am now!
Poor, hungry and alone, I lived on my own in Skywatch for most of my adolescence, after fleeing my family home in Vulkhel Guard. I hoped to one day see the world, and taste the thrill of heroism. I wanted to be a great warrior, a hero to the people, and a terror to evil. I did what I could to save up for gear to travel, and a master to train me in the sword. Everything from woodcutting and selling items I'd find for coin, to sleeping hungry on nights when I couldn't find anything to sell or anywhere to work, I did what I could to survive on my own. Never would I ask for help; I had to do things myself.
I had built up a small reputation around town, both of respect, and disapproval, as although I frequently helped out merchants, housewives, woodcutters, and anyone I could, I also frequented the barbed hook tavern, and was known for causing, and to not lose in, many fights.
One night, after a drunken bet turned into a blacked out brawl, I found myself experiencing a night that would change me forever. Something was different that night; the guards didn't seize me and throw me out, I didn't get any frightened or disappointed looks from the uninvolved bar-goers, as I always did when I walk out. No one even looked at me at all. As I walked outside, I noticed the streets were empty, and the air was at a temperature that was dry and perfectly matched my body's heat, giving a sense of vacancy in the air- and in myself. The moons were very bright, and their light seemed to align their beams onto me. Everywhere I lay to rest, the beams would find any window, any crack or gap to shine down and keep me away. I finally went to sleep beneath a densely leaved tree on the outskirts of town, and before I could even be content with the lack of light in my eyes, I fell into a deep sleep.
My eyes snap open, and I sit up swiftly. I'm not under a tree, I'm laying in a dungeon, full clad in plate armor, armed with a broadsword. I am made aware that I'm in a dream, surrounded by men and women who I have never met before, but somehow I know them. I know them, but they are not my allies. With great fury and strength, we clash swords, cast spells, and fight brutally. I have never fought with a broadsword myself, but here in my dream I know how to execute all of the swings, counters, and parries like a skilled veteran. This is real, as vividly real as a dream can possibly be. I feel the burns of flame magic, feel the bruises of weapons blunted against armor, feel the burden of taking life as I slay every last one of my opponents...
I woke up in a cold sweat, the moons' light shining directly on me through the branches of the tree, my body aching from my battle, my clothes seeping up my bloo- my blood? It was only a dream! I woke up beneath the same tree, and it was still the dead of night! How could I possibly be bruised and bleeding? Oh, right, the bar brawl. I was so convinced that the dream had been real... "Sss Ouch!" I hissed, feeling a sting as I rubbed my arm while lost in though. I pulled back my sleeve to see how bad the bruising was, when I noticed burns, scraps, and deep cuts. I tensed in bafflement. Those are the wounds I maintained in my dream, I'm sure of it. As I straightened myself up, a heavy object slid off the trunk of the tree, and thudded to the ground. I looked down to see an iron broadsword, very well crafted, but nothing of immense value.
I pick it up, and realized it's the sword from my dream. I had no idea what to make of this seemingly ethereal apparition of a sword, but as I began practicing holding the sword, my dream came flooding back, and every skill, every muscle memory, and every feeling of life ingrained itself into my memory. I began swinging the sword with precision and grace; I had been given a gift.
I began wandering the corners of Auridon, helping those in need, delving into caves to search for monsters and daedra to slay. I ended up involved in several missions that required me to stop cultists from summoning massive Daedra!
Then, in what was clearly an act of fate, the moment I was heading to sail to Grahtwood for the first time, I hear a recruiter from the Blue Skooma Co. Interested in becoming a Sellsword? Why yes I am! And here we are, several days later, where I find myself in the most pleasant company I can imagine, fulfilling my dream and destiny.
