<transcribed from in-game. please forgive my poor hands a few typos.>
As before, the message to Sidri arrives in a sulfurous puff of purple fire, the wine label curling in the heat. "Come to Mistral, Associate. Sarin'jo will be waiting in the Inn."
...
Sidri opens the door warily, keeping a ready hand by her dagger as she glances about.
Sarin'jo looks up as Sidri enters. Draped languidly over the cushions of a small couch, her whiskers twitch as the Bosmer reaches for her knives. "There will be no need for those," she says, blinking slowly. "Sarin'jo only wishes to talk. She is not in the habit of inserting pointy things into fresh Associates."
Sidri blinks, looking to the cat for a long moment before nodding and tilting her palms toward her. "Glad to hear it, though I hope you'll not mind if I keep them on me." A shrug. "Force of habit, really."
"This one would not dream of asking you to remove them." The kajiit waves a hand toward the rest of the room, inviting Sidri in. "Be comfortable."
Sidri nods slowly, taking a step in and smiling faintly. "Nice place, this is. Better than I might have expected, truth be told."
Sarin'jo nods once. "Sarin'jo has found the people of Khenarthi's Roost to be most skilled in the art of hospitality. Also, in understanding the value of keeping secrets," she says while glancing coolly at the Innkeeper across the room. "Sarin'jo wishes to know what drives you to seek out the Company?"
Sidri considers her words carefully, clearly more relaxed now as her eyes glimmer with amusement. "Business is a bit more difficult for those hoping for a solo enterprise, now that everywhere you turn there's a Dominion guard looking for some sloppy thief to make an example of." She nods once. "I think it best to put my days of working alone behind."
Sarin'jo considers this, her tail curling and uncurling over an arm of the furniture. "A prudent plan. That is it that you believe you can bring to the Company? Where do your skills lie?"
Sidri grins a bit, crossing her arms and looking towards the innkeep before returning her gaze to the khajiit. "I'm as good a thief as you're like to meet, out of Grahtwood anyway, afraid' I can't speak for the rest of Nirn. Sneaking's the family business and I inherited what one needs to be successful in such."
Sarin'jo apparently likes what she hears, for the Khajiit's cream and orange muzzle splits in a toothy smile. "Good. This one appreciates confidence. But she must also see proof, you understand."
Sidri nods, flicking a loose bit of dark hair over her ear. "Certainly, I'd rather hope so."
Sarin'jo slips from the cough, pulling a map from her belt and considering it for a moment. "Hmm. yes. Sarin'jo has a task fo ryou in Grahtwood. Not too difficult, she hopes. Familiar territory, yes?"
Sidri laughs quietly, arching a brow towards the map. "Aye, you could say that. Lovely place, if you're fond of deadly plants, ancient monsters and the possibility of drowning in a swamp."
Sarin'jo folds the map and tucks it back into her belt. "There is a poacher camp, just North and West of Elden Root. Go there, and steal from their goods a bone powder. Do not get caught. Return the item to me. Do this and Sarin'jo will consider you more than merely an Associate."
Sidri remains silent for a long moment, committing every detail to memory. Finally, after running her tongue over her lower lip, she offers an assured nod. "Poacher camp, bone powder, don't get caught. Got it."
Sarin'jo nods to Sidri, dipping into a respectful bow. "Until we meet again, Jone and Jode watch over you."
Sidri returns the bow, albeit a bit awkwardly as she's clearly unused to the motion. "Swift roads, friend."
