In my opinion, the thing we need the most is a well considered story arc for the guild. A solid base that members can build their RP on.

I’m looking for a volunteer(s) to write up a prelude. A decent foundation so people have a base to develop their own stories and characters. In my experience such story arcs might last a month or so.

If you've got an idea, and you’re willing to write up a nice story, post it here. Let’s discuss ideas and get it happening!

(Even if you don’t want to write it, throw some ideas around. ^.^)

I wish we could like things, rather than just comment all the time LOL

I am working on something while I wait for my game to update... (see you next year guys :( (TY Telstra - NOT!)

Even if it is just for my own reference.

First, Ill set up the Cast/Characters as I RP with them or read about them and get a fix on the (who, what, why, where) of their character Ill put them in it. Once I get that and a general idea of what happened before my time and where Ri'sari and yourself want to take the Co. Ill start on the skeleton/plot/direction/whatever, the fleshing out will come via RP I expect.

I also read character Bio's and intros so if people haven't done one... DO IT! LOL :D jkn... sorta ;-)

I also love reading other peoples stories, so post them in Media....

And lets get this Tavern/Warehouse/Headquarters thing happening on the forum *pokes J'sarr*

I'll try to encourage managers to write bios.

Ri'sari, Sylva and I got to noodling out possible futures for the guild and here's a rough outline of the major guild events we have planned. If you're a manager, feel free to build commune events around them. Helping build up the guild IC tension toward these high-intensity scenes might help drum up interest.

This last RP: The Dominion Inspector Dies.
-attacked by the Sellswords and murdered by Ice-Eye himself, the Dominion cargo inspector at Khenarthi's roost was an important official. His death was not missed by law enforcement and the Blue Skooma Company is under threat.

The future: The Dominion Hunts BSC
-after returning to port, Ri'sari gathers the ship's crew and attempts to harshly punish everyone on the ship for the events at Khenarthi's Roost. The Sellswords object on the grounds that they were contracted to follow Ice-Eye's orders. Breaking contract, the Sellswords leave the Company.

-A new Dominion branch of law enforcement, the Peacekeepers, stages a raid on the warehouse.
  1. Ri'sari flees.
  2. Introduces the new Commune: the Peacekeepers. Comprised of lawful- and good-aligned characters that uphold the laws of the Dominion.

- Ri'sari attempts to fix BSC through bribery and/or attempted assassination of key Peacekeepers.

- With BSC resources seized, the Company is making no money. (Possible Companions breakaway RP, for financial reasons?)

Conducted some (Semi) secret RP yesterday as well, here was the outcome:
-Qa'han took Anira aside in secret, explaining to her that Blue Skooma is not profitable on its own with just Skooma (Considering all the kidnapping, raids and death happening lately). With the recent Craft Fair, He and her agrees together that for the venture to be profitable they must conduct their own legal business without Ri'sari's knowing, and keep the profits for themselves. Qa'han provides a list of Clerks he trusts to Anira.

The Future: A "Legal" Venture
-Gathering the trustworthy clerks and introducing them to the new venture. I'm hoping one of the Clerks takes the initiative to tell Ri'sar on Fridayi, but if none do, I'll ask one myself to help out.

This is turning out to be very interesting. Do think next week we need to stage a meeting between Ri`sari and Ice and those who were with him. There seems to be a lot of splits going on. Instead of having only the Peacekeepers we could also role it in a way that most of the communes are splitting in some way and we have legal version like the Peacekeepers, the Clerks, the Courtesans, and the Spies while keeping the other communes.

Other than this one will tell you that he plans on keeping Mo'jahi Ice-Eye with Ri'sari.

We could also have several characters each roleplaying in different aspects of each sort of commune.

The ultimate goal is to have 4 or 5 distinct houses where one will appeal to any kind of character. This will open up our guild to more kinds of characters and hopefully put these houses at odds often, providing conflict and thus content.

I know some of us have been discussing name changes but I believe the name should continue to be the same. It was probably the a large reason of why I joined the guild and I feel we will lose something if we change the name. However the name does not necessarily have to be as literally in what we do as it was in the past, for some communes it can be just a name however nothing to do with what they do.

We have a Shadowscale (Royal Assassin for Steel-Eyes) in the guild. Hunts-With-Magic. In character, Qa'han being a 'Rouge Shadowscale' himself (Born under The Shadow Sign, but with being separated from his clutch before hatching, he was never taken away) he would be the only one who would know of them.
I'm going to ask if he would be willing to take an active part in a Role Play if an appropriate time happens.

A lot of this discussion is off topic. :p

To clarify, I envision the Roleplay Stories forum to have one stickied thread (possibly more) "Official Guild Story Arc: Cool Story Name". This would be set the direction of the guild for the duration of the story arc.

The current RP events are a good example. It seems Blue Skooma company is set to dissolve In Character, leaving separate communes. This is what I can glean from some OOC posts on the forums. But there is no background story on the forums that explains what is going on to the members. I feel there should be and that big events like this should be planned and explained. Otherwise you end up with somewhat chaotic RP that only really makes sense to those that happened to be there at the time.

Does this make sense to everyone?

Kk. I understand. I've been sharing this with the Merchants thus far. Essentially it's Qa'han's stand point right now.

I'm going to make an announcement to the "Trusted" members of the Commune this Wednesday about the manifest ideas, and that it will be a side operation between us where we can make some real money, but keep it from Ri'sari's knowing. I'm in the process of writing a background of what happened to my character since I had been a part of the guild, but here's the short story.

  • Qa'han as a character had went from running the most successful (and only) trading caravan in the Black Marsh, to peddling Skooma.
  • The company is LOOSING money due to bribes, loss product, compansations, etc. Ri'sari's deductions from this causes the Merchants not make any money, but still work twice as hard. Qa'han is displeased.
  • Due to his interactions with the Aldemeri Dominion (The actual game story) he had been forbidden for returning to the Black Marsh.
  • Due to the Khajiit not taking the outcast Argonian seriously, he is unable to restart his own caravan, thus is stuck with the Company.
  • Displeased with his current position, he turns to his adopted mother, Ri'fava, for guidance. During the interaction, Qa'han learns that she was a Eye of the Queen, and it was that reason why Qa'han was made a Eye himself so quickly. Qa'han decides to that dealing with the Skooma alone is not profitable, thus he reaches out to those under him about a new business venture: Providing for the war efforts.
  • He's also tasked by the Eyes to keep an eye on Blue Skooma Company, though understanding Qa'han's position, Ri'fava doesn't hold him to that.
  • He keeps the venture a secret from Ri'sari, so he and the merchants can keep the profits.

Possible Future events:
-Ri'sari learns of the venture, and confronts Qa'han. Qa'han gets angry, pointing out Blue Skooma has caused much death thus far but no profit. The interactions will leave the Merchants in a rocky perdiciment.
-Qa'han's position is compromised.

Seeing those are the events that have happened while I was away, I'll prepare for the forging of the sellswords into their own completely independent commune. As I had stated in another forum I had hoped to make them into a neutral group. The only way for them to be a legitimate business however is their strict adherence to dominion law, though they would still be able to service shadier groups provided they don't face risk of discovery. Either way I plan on posting a main directive for the newly idipendant sellswords. I must say thoug I am slightly disappointed in the notion of not being able to change the commune's name given their newly born business. I also agree with the idea that this be posted so that all members might be able to openly see the transformation of the guild. I can help create a story arc from the separation, but it comes down to Ri'sari's vision for what happened in the beginning. I don't believe I know his vision enough to speak out for it.

Due to the events of last Friday it now seems that the Merchants are seperating under the leadership of Qa'Han and his second in commands both played by me. Meanwhile Ri'sari and those loyal to him are forming into a clan. The direction we are going is the communes are slowly splitting off, the problem with this is that the commune rp sessions are becoming more restrictive to those under the communes and the events on Fridays will also become restrictive possibly to those under Ri'sari, is this the direction we want to go and if so, how would we make it so rp is less restrictive and whoever is on can come?

Qa'han is going to be messaging the Merchants one at a time, informing him he is still in action. Or at least the ones he KNOWS he can trust.

Have we thought about allowing a character to be involved in more than one commune? For example Sahlaa runs his own caravan between AD and EP. This helps me to explain my four characters that are in the EP. His caravan makes honest coin and also smuggles and Sahlaa is a broker of information and runs an assassination business on the side. So he joined the Secrets commune but he would also not be out of place with the merchants.

I could see honest and honorable sellswords becoming peacekeeper too. Companions that use their role to learn secrets. Sellswords doing assassinaions on the side as members of the secrets. This could lead to great roleplay and even some strife between the communes as loyalties are challenged. It would also allow us to still attend each others events. Personally I dont want what is happening to prevent me from roleplaying with certain characters.

Also what about finding a good new roleplay place that is declared neutral ground by all the factions and communes of BSC so everyone can attend? We could call it a company meeting or something. It is considered neutral so alliances can be formed, bussiness deals struck, enemies can talk without fear of a knife in the back, potential recruits could be found etc.
We could hold a weekly meeting there or twice a month?

What do you think?

If you have multiple characters, you can of course be in multiple communes. However, in the guild or clan as a whole, the Merchants are breaking off due to the actions of last Friday's rp. If events like these continue, it will be difficult to hold bloodless events with the whole guild involved unless it is OOC.
