Many have asked for S'har to tell his tale. So, fine, he shall tell you. He has already given the short version to a few and now it is time to put a little detail into his past. If you are all comfortable, he will begin.
Many moons ago, far more than any of you have seen or will see, S'har lived with small clan, his clan, or so it would have been had it still been around. His parents were, and still are in this one's eyes, clan leaders. His father had won the title after besting every warrior in the clan. Of course it might have helped that he single handedly defeated an Imperial army wanting to enslave this ones clan, but besides the point. His father had won the title, he originally tried for the position to impress a Khajiit from a different clan. But S'har's father soon fell In love with a small Khajiit from his own clan.
She was lovely, perhaps the greatest soul to have ever been born on Tamriel. S'har has her eyes, which to him is a blessing. Much better than his fathers war crazed, blood red eyes, he thinks. His parents courtship began as soon as his father ruled the clan. Despite his waring nature he was sweet and gentle. He could have just claimed her had he wanted to, being clan leader none could oppose, and if they did he would just best them in combat. This one's father may not have been the best Khajiit but he treated S'har's mother with love and care. Never pushing against what she wanted. That is the main reason this one respects his father.
Anyways soon they were wed. Both pledging to Mara to please the Dominion, and with a claim ceremony. S'har was conceived that night, he would go into details, but he thinks you could learn more from the Companions than him. His birth was quick, if you ignore the many moons he spent torturing his mother from inside. Born under the Secunda Full Moon, making him Cathay-Raht for. He lived up to it.
Growing strong and large very quickly under his father's guidance. As soon as he could stand his father was teaching him to fight. S'har loved every second of it. Combat came naturally to this one. His father taught him all he could but it wasn't ever enough. He strived to learn all he could, soon he could even best his father in combat, though he didn't dare challenge him for title out of respect. He gave all his time to the clan, making his name as the 'Helping Hand'.
On a bright day, much like today, S'har had been working hard in the sugar fields. Placing a few bags of the day's crop on his shoulders he made his way back to the village. As he was crossing the hill he seen smoke. S'har had not felt such fear in all his life, this one still can not shake the feeling he has when he seen the smoke rise. Even more so as he reached the crest of the hill. Down In the valley S'har could not believe his eyes, nor did he want to.
A column of swirling fire ripped through this one's village. Destroyed everything and everyone. He ran toward any he seen, wanting to help them, but, as if the inferno could read his mind, it turned and engulfed the one he was running to. The inferno finally dispersed and a mage stood In it's eye. The mage chuckled at S'har, a laugh this one will not forget.
The mage padded over to him. This one swears he out some sort of spell on him, as he couldn't move. He growled low in his throat and the mage smiled. "Oh no, kitty is mad, don't harm me, please!" The mage burst into laughter, if S'har could have moved that mage would have died then and there. Instead he just stood where he was, paralyzed. The mage laughed once again. "I'm leaving now, cat. Do not follow me or you will feel their pain for all eternity." The mage practically danced away, making a game of all the death he had just caused.
S'har finally regained control over his body. He ran around frantically, hoping to find anyone still alive. He stopped, turned to his house and ran to it. He entered the house and grabbed his fathers blade. This one wishes he still had that blade, the only thing he took with him, now he has nothing but pain and memory of his clan. Sheathing the blade on his back, as it was a great sword, he took off, following the tracks the mage had left in his wake. Trained in tracking he followed the mage. He was fast, S'har gave him that.
He came across many destroyed villages. All victims to the mage, never any survivors. He followed the mage for many moons, living off what he could find along the way. He finally caught up to the mage, who was, as usual, destroying yet another village. This one was bigger, almost the size of a small city. He snuck around a few buildings and gained some height. He drew his blade and perched above the mage. The filth's face was covered with a look this one can only explain as pure evil. One that would give any nightmares.
He pounced on the mage. Bringing his blade down piercing his skull. Impaling him onto his father's blade. The Inferno died down as the mage fell to his knees. He grinned up at S'har. "So you returned. Fool!" He shot out his fingers hitting S'har with a blast of air, or that's what he thought it was at the time. The dieng mage grinned at him, promising he would never live without pain from that day on. He didn't really listen to the words, he just walked off. It wasn't revenge he sought, more like redemption. His clans death couldn't go without justice. And he thinks he delivered it nicely.
He walked to the next village, a small quiet town with but a few houses and an inn, which also served as the town hall. S'har walked in and plopped down at the bar. He sighed toward the barkeep. Which was enough for the Mer to understand, the blood covering him probably helped. The barkeep passed him the strongest ale in house. It nearly knocked him out of his chair! If one thing is to say, the Mer folk make good ale. He soon fell asleep.
During the night he heard the screams of his clan, their darkest fears and every horrid image they had seen. When he woke, it was much morse. He threw himself back away from the bar, thrashing and screaming, demanding someone end him. It was as if he was dying 15 times in an instance. The heat was so vivid. The stabs of pain. His eyes were blood shot. His nose bleeding. Claw marks in his face where he tried to rip it off.
He finally collapsed on the ground. "Quite the hangover there cat. Much fiercer than mine" the barkeep told him as he lay there. S'har knew it wasn't a hangover, much more than that. He left the bar as fast as he could.
As he opened the door he was sucked into a different realm. At least his mind was. He was in a place unlike any other. It was a dark purple all around him. He floated as if no longer affected by the pull of Tamriel. In Fact he couldn't feel anything, too be honest. He wasn't really sure what to think. Ha! This one rarely knows what to think, anyways. All around him the exact scene spread out everywhere. For some reason that he no longer knows, his mind wandered, to his mother. All at once her life raced into his mind. Showing everything at once.
His nose started to bleed as he snapped back to reality. Somehow he had just learned everything about his mother. He was face down in the dirt. He stood up and cleaned himself up. Whatever power he had just gained he needed to learn about it.
The next part is very boring and very long so this one will make it short. He hunted for nearly a century for information on what he now knows as the Vale. None really knew much. What he knows now he learned from the Vale itself. During his travels he met many nice Khajiit. One caught his eye.
She was small, but fierce. Not afraid to speak her mind and correct S'har. For some reason that's always what S'har falls for. He is a warrior after all. S'har did fall for her, hard. He gave up his quest and even got a job in town. He courted her, not as effectively as his father but nonetheless effective.
She was the first, and he thought the last, to fall for his charms. Their love was strong, she was his and he was hers. To please the Dominion they Pledged to Mara. This one didn't think, and still doesn't, that the pledge means much. He finds actions to speak louder than words. They didn't have claiming ceremony, as neither know many they trusted, beside each other. But it wasn't needed. Oh, this one almost forgot to mention her name, apologies he got lost in her thoughts, her name was Shabaji. A pretty name, he thinks.
They were together for some time. He bought her a house to live in, settle down and start a family. At first this one was worried about starting a family. He never thought of himself as a father. But she assured him, eased his mind, made him change his mind. So they did have kits. 3 of them.
The oldest, a strong Cathay-Raht like S'har. He was named, and this one thought it was fitting, Do'had. He was not exactly the strongest fighter but he worked like no other.
S'har's second kit was a small and timid Khajiit. Her name was, and still is, Ahjihira. One of the prettiest Khajiit he has ever seen, much like her mother.
His third kit was a simple Khajiit, he wasn't exactly shy but wasn't out going either. Normal height and build, S'har loved him nonetheless like all his kittens. His name was Baadar. His mother picked it.
This one treasured ever moment with his family. He still had that pain every morning, but around them he could almost forget. Almost. He often slept outside on the porch, his family understood.
Then, apologies it is hard for this one to talk about it. But he will nonetheless. Then one dark night an assassin came. At first the shadow dweller tried to out fight S'har in combat, foolish as that sounds, this one ended the pathetic killers life. But not before he set the trap. As soon as S'har let his guard down the house erupted in flame. He ran inside. It was so hot, hotter than normal, way hotter. By the time he got to them he could only see his daughter. He grabbed her and ran, tears in his eyes. He set her down out of harms way and ran back in. The house was collapsing around him as he searched desperately. Only finding the charred remains. He sat there for a moment. Wanting the fire to take him. Knowing it wouldn't work he left to find Ahjihira.
She was crying, and so was he. She was only 8 year cycles old but she understood. He scooped her up, took the neighbors horse, and rode off. Wanting to forget. Knowing those lost that night would join his curse, join his pain. He tried to encourage the small Khajiit In his arms, but he couldn't even focus himself. He rode fast and for a long time. Eventually she stopped crying, and so did he. He must have rode for a whole day.
He didn't stop until she no longer could hold her tongue about being hungry. When she reminded him, he almost scolded her, but bit his tongue to stop from doing so. After all he too was starving. He looked down and told her with a smile that they would stop soon.
At the next town even. She didn't make it there. An arrow from a bandit barriered itself into her chest and she died before the pain hit her. This one didn't think of that as he lept from his horse. In fact he didn't think until he had ripped out every last vein from the highwayman's body. He was covered in blood. The horse ran from him, he didn't care. Needed a way to get rid of his anger. And what better a target than the one who took the last bit of life from him? He collapsed where he was and passed out, tired from hunger and exhausted from pain.
The pain worse than usual that night. At some point it started to affect his body. This scar on his eye, that was from that night. When he finally came to. He bowed his head and walked off in a random direction, knowing lack of food would not kill him, no it would not be that easy.
He walked without sleep or nourishment for at least one or two moon cycles. When he was done walking he was in Auridon, or the developing Auridon. The ruins this one now hunts, yea he watched those die off. Eternity is a long time, my friends.
He walked Into Skywatch sometime later in the night. At the time it was merely a port town. Just another stop for boats. He found a meaningless job and began work. He didn't make hardly any coin, which was good cause he would have just thrown it away. By the time he finally recovered Skywatch was built. Perhaps 5 or so years from today? From there his tale is pretty flat. Random jobs until he met Ri'sari. You should have seen the cat before we got big. S'har respected the cat back then. Now he is just another threat. But it isn't up to him to end him.
That is all this one can explain without guiding questions. So please, comrades, ask away.
