Meriik loves to collect and trade. Meriik will often take used goods he thinks may be refurbished and turned for profit, especially if they are ornate and eye catching. He has a small group of craftsmen that work for him which he pays a percentage of his sales to.
All of Meriik's products are carefully engraved, printed, or wrapped in printed paper bearing the Amirikii name and logo as he sees branding and word of mouth as a perfect way to ensure future business.
Meriik loves to invent or re-invent things. He is always thinking of the next big product that will sweep the markets, especially if he can make them cheaply and quickly.

The craftsmen that Meriik have under his employ are more friends he has met through his travels doing him favors and looking out for him rather than business associates.
Meriik's inventions are more often than not pointless or useless. He thinks all his ideas are fantastic though and will push to sell one after another if given the opportunity.
Although he thinks of himself as a good trader he is easy to put one over on and due to his gullible nature can be fooled easily into almost giving away his wares. He can often be seen writing letters to his associates asking for an advance on what is sure to be a lucrative opportunity. They know he means well and sometimes his investments do pay off so they play along and send a little coin his way.
Meriik very afraid of deep water. He is convinced that one day he will be eaten by some sort of sea monster and is often heard explaining "You can't see whats down there sizing you up as a tasty treat!" He will swim in shallow waters and stay close to the shore but won't venture out much further than that. He also has terrible sea sickness.
