In an effort to avoid some doing more than others, I would like to designate duties to each officer to oversee. These duties can be rotated at your discretion, but each needs to be claimed and carried out by someone. As with our ranks, all are OOC positions. You will receive a shiny title on the website as payment. :P

Chief Diplomat: Work with other guilds.

Recruitment Officer: Ensure recruiting new members in-game and on forums.

Roleplay Guide: Make sure members are interviewed for promotion promptly.

Roster Master: Remove trial members that have not logged in for 14 days.

Guild Scribe: Keep track of guild IC events like this: http://blueskooma.com/forum/page/1/m/22417574/viewthread/12337268-blue-skooma-co-roleplay-backstory

Guild Newsletter: Publish a recap of guild IC and OOC happenings every Sunday on the home page.

A few people have been doing all of this up to this point, but we have enough officers now to spread the work out so no one gets burned out.

Post below with any position that interests you and remember you can always change in the future. :)

Can there be a "guild peanut thrower" title? Ansaari wants that one!

If we have enough Officers I would strongly suggest 2 or 3 be in charge of recruitment, for coverage purposes. The game is pretty large and having a presence in more then one zone at a time would be useful. Either way I would not mind taking on the role, as, when I am in game I am usually just running around randomly while waiting for something to do with RP at this point. It would be nothing to throw out the occasional spam and answer questions in game. And the same goes for in forums as well, since with dual monitors I am usually lurking here anyhow, especially while at work.

Great idea. I think most of these can have more than one person fill them, too. We can talk about them each more at the meeting tonight. :3

This one is interested in being a recruitment officer also...

This one will continue as scribe :)

Particularly RP backstory/history management but need help of other story-tellers to submit accounts for this one to assemble/arrange so I don't have to write it all. Qa' han has been a great asset in this to me :thumb:

I suppose i would not mind helping as Roleplay guide as well, though I am currently unsure what needs to be done with that

I am sort of helping all around, especially with the events. Will try to do a bit more recruiting though. If you really need a job done, just tell me what needs help with.
However, I can be the Roster Master if you want me to be.

Recruitment Officer:
  • Ensure recruiting new members in-game and on forums.
  • Make sure new member applications are reviewed promptly.

Roleplay Guide:
  • Make sure members are interviewed for promotion promptly either by doing it yourself or getting someone else to.

Roster Master:
  • Remove trial members that have not logged in for 14 days and full members that have not logged in for 30 days.
  • Copy-paste an in-game mail message to them about why they were removed.

Guild Scribe:
  • Keep track of guild IC events like this: http://blueskooma.com/forum/page/1/m/22417574/viewthread/12337268-blue-skooma-co-roleplay-backstory by either compiling or writing so that members not in attendance can understand the important stuff.

Guild Herald:
  • Publish a recap of guild IC and OOC happenings every Sunday on the home page. It should be short and to the point.
  • Send out a Newsletter using the in-game mail system to every member using the Guild Tools addon. It has to be very concise because the game mail cannot hold much text.

What do you think? Removed Diplomat because that can be the duty of the current GM.

I would be willing to take a Roleplay Guide position. I heard in the Teamspeak meeting that we had to make some sort of drive for the characters, and I could come up with motivations for them based on their character sheets. I'd suggest at least two of these in each faction, so that we can do more interviews in one night.

Quick question also; if an application is going to be approved but needs an interview, do we approve it first or wait? And can we reject applications without an interview if they don't look like they're worth the time?

My opinion on the rejections, for the in game organizations, I would suggest rather than outright rejecting them, seek at least a second opinion from another Officer, especially if they have been interacting and participating in RP events. If they have been participating, and doing well, but present a bad organization App, they shouldn't be outright rejected.

And Ansaari is still willing to take the title of "Peanut Master" if available, and barring that, Recruitment Officer, with a side of Roleplay Guide when the opportunity presents itself. :)

I agree Ansaari :)

I only think I have rejected one application, that was for an Officer Role based on general opinion about age.
My personality leans towards giving everyone a chance at least at guild entry level. Then when it comes to full membership I am a bit tougher, then at Officer level I am looking for much more .... and so on.

I am actually happier with kicking, demoting (which I do take very seriously) than outright refusal, unless it is obvious they are a butt-wipe and then I am fond of the delete/ignore button.

I should also say I have had lots of management positions IRL in the past and had lots of experience in the field of leadership & development. Being a mother and owner/manager of a large national RE portal that we developed ourselves has given me loads of life experience with dealing with people.

On the other hand, we do not want butt-wipes involved in the guild that will cause drama and ruin other people's fun. We also dont want people that are going to take up a spot in our guild that would prevent a potential full member seeking entry to the Guild and potentially miss out. But that is why we clear out the roster on a regular basis of trial members. Having trial members/doubltful applicants give us lots of fodder to cull muahaha  *coughs* sorry my alter ego took hold for a few moments ;-)

However, when in doubt - discuss and let others share in the rejection process.

I would agree. There is not very much to go on for the applications to go full member, some sort of rp interaction should be held with them IG or OOG on the forums since we are an rp oriented guild anyways. Btw Sylva what is that general opinion of age, and would I have made it? (Btw I am 17 :) )

17!? burn the youngster!!!! :P age does not always = maturity, though sometimes it does.

Yup. 17 and one of our most active and important managers. :) Maturity is usually a more important factor to consider than age although often young ones like myself will be a whole lot less mature.

Jun 12, 2014 at 12:36 AM #16
I agree Ice, perhaps though you did not mention your age on application, or maybe Ri'saari knew you better IDK. That said I would not normally judge on age alone because maturity and ability are often not relative. It was pointed out to me as a deciding factor and so I went along with it in the aforementioned case we are talking about. I have watched the said member in guild and RP and find them extremely mature despite their chronological age.

I rarely argue so my reply is often a simple ... k :) and I only question when I am seeking more information :)

I think you are an awesome asset to the team BTW :thumb:

This was the first time I actually revealed my age. :) I was one of the first to become managers after the guild first introduction rp session back when we were still quite small. Was interested and the process was not half as long and complicated as it is now.

Thanks Sylva, you are awesome as well!

I'd very much love to be a Roleplay Guide and decide who becomes a full member and help them better their Roleplay skills. If there is something else needed or needed more, I can do one or both. Let me know!

Added Offer Role tags to those who commented. Please add your in-game user name to the list on the top of right of this page http://www.blueskooma.com/communes by clicking "Edit" to the right of your name.

All Officers are going to need a role, so keep commenting about what you'd like to do. Remember that roles can be swapped with someone else at any time. I will be updating the Officer Handbook to reflect these roles with details on how to carry them out effectively soon.

I think The best role for me would be the Roleplay Guide, seeing as that is a majority of what I do already. Though I doubt I can make it to the Sunday events for RP school. I have usually done a brief tutorial section in my RP interview to ensure that we are on the same page or that I can introduce new RPers to the environment and ensure they can participate at Guild events. I assume thought that we would all be submitting random Guild advertisements in zone chat.

Question as a Roster Master... are there any full members that should not be removed for 30 days inactive?
One example, we know Ice-Eyes will be gone for 30 days so we won't remove him (as long as gold is paid on time).
Are there any special cases that should not be removed? I was amazed too that you are 17 Ice-Eyes! I never
would have guessed that! :)

RP Guide & Guild Scribe would be awesome. Simply keeping an account of everything that your character witnesses at every event you attend would help me great deal :thumb:

If you read over the Account thread I have been working on you can see I often quote other people's work and simply post it. Other times I write my account in there.

Sylva and his band cannot be everywhere at once, so yes I need eyes and ears everywhere.
