"Traitor? Thief? Spy? Blood hunter? Sure, all of these terms could describe me. But the only thing that truly defines who I am are the actions I am willing to take." -- Sephariel, speaking to a confederate before they delved into an ancient ruin.
Name: Sephariel Azureveil
Age: 33 (Appearance 29)
Race: Imperial (Vampire)
Flair: Dark rings around her eyes, porcelain white skin, various cuts and rips across her body, but never anything on her face outside of her vampiric marks.
Rumors: After falling upon the Blue Skooma Co. as they were preparing to unload a shipment, Sephariel lurked in the background, watching most of the crew as they conversed amongst themselves. Unfortunately for her, one does not stay hidden very long when being an unfamiliar face amongst a very tightly-knit force. Sephariel was called out, invited to temporarily work with the company as a sellsword, and she decided to give it a go. If the pay was good and the jobs were solid, that's good enough, right?
Since then she's made a petition to more formally join the company, but she still stays silent and keeps to herself, outside of a quip or two. Rumors say that she's a former Imperial Legion scout, perhaps a spy, that's attempting to learn the secrets of the Dominion. Some also say that she willingly gave herself to the Vampires of Molag Bal in order to better track the quarries assigned to her by the Legion itself. Her quips from time to time are very curt, although she seems to have a great amount of respect for those in command, frequently referring to them as "ma'am" or "sir" as if she was receiving orders.
Beyond that, Sephariel has proven to be as elusive on the battlefield as she is in social situations. With a supernatural ability to blend into the shadows, she frequently pulls around from the main force and moves to a flank, taking out back lines with her bow, or, if need be, she swiftly darts into combat to unleash a torrent of blood magic before using her vampiric abilities to move to safety.
Background: Praefect Sephariel Azureveil is a former member of the First Legion of the Imperial Legion and Cheydinhal native. Within the Legion, her main tasks were to perform reconnaissance and information gathering expeditions for the main force of the First Legion before they would strike. Less frequently, she'd be called upon to perform surgical first strikes -- removing an enemy leader with her sharpshooting abilities on the eve of a battle. However, the Legion always relied on her for her cunning ability to stay unseen in dangerous territory. At the end of her tenure, she was beginning to teach other members of the First Legion her ways.
After the soulburst and the resulting shift in the Empire, Praefect Azureveil found herself on the outside. While she wasn't a fan of the gods at large, she wasn't a fan of the Daedra either. As more and more of the Empire converted to Daedra worshipping, Sephariel made the very difficult and painful decision to abandon her post and leave the legion for the good of the Empire. She didn't agree with the direction, but also knew that nothing could presently be done about what had happened to her homeland.
She took to the shadows that she was so fond of and crossed from Cyrodiil to Reaper's March. Unfortunately, things did not go as planned. While traveling at night, Sephariel was ambushed by a group of bloodfiends and left for dead. In the haze brought on by her blood loss, she crawled along the ground, desperately seeking some sort of civilization. What she found instead was the remnants of the vampire coven headed by Lamae Bal.
From there, the rest is almost predictable. Sephariel fell further into darkness, becoming the very shadows that she wrapped so tightly around herself. In a way, her predicament aided her position, allowing her to track her prey better than she ever could before. However, her newfound undeath hadn't swayed her from her cause; through the Alderi Dominion, she was going to bring peace to her homeland... whether they wanted it or not.
