Guilbert spent the last decade traveling the world as an actor in a well-received troupe known as The Auridon Follies. His turn as Clavides in "The Horror of Castle Xyr" was much applauded last season, and the players benefited from such esteem as to be invited to court at Daggerfall for a time.

Once hostilities broke out between the Dominion and Covenant, rival interests in Daggerfall sought to convince the crown that these foreigners were nothing more than spies, and so the troupe was detained. With little evidence and even less interest in some motley band of actors, the rulership never got around to actually dealing with the prisoners. They were left to languish in the dungeon for nearly a year. Guilbert's friend and mentor, an altmer named Saulibos, died in captivity.

Guilbert, having always made a point of study when it came to his roles, had portrayed a number of thieves during his tenure with the troupe. When the opportunity presented itself, he was able to effect a daring escape--taking with him the skull of his friend.

Having only recently returned to his adopted home of Auridon, Guilbert is uncertain of what to do next.
