Name: Ma'Zha
Age:15 (Ma'Zha is a dynamic character, he will age up to 21 as he levels)
Race: Khajiit
Flair:

Though mostly covered by his fur, Ma'Zha has many scars, much more than others his age should have.

Rumors:

Ma'Zha is considered a healing protege, leading people to believe him to be the cub of a powerful healer.

Background:

Ma'Zha was purchased as a cub to live the life of a merchant's slave. Taken from his mother before he was even old enough to remember her face Ma'Zha was raised solely by his master, a Redguard merchant named Jarem. Jarem was by no means a caring master; feeding Ma'Zha just enough to get by, making Ma'Zha do all the heavy lifting when it came time to move his wares, and taking out his frustrations on the cub for often the slightest mistakes. As far as education goes Jarem taught Ma'Zha only what he felt the cub needed to know, simple things like how to transport or stack products to avoid damaging them, how to spot a thief, and how to spot an “easy mark”. As he grew Ma'Zha learned to steal to survive, stealing becoming more of a survival instinct than a moral issue and Ma'Zha would take food where he could find it. Jarem would often remind Ma'Zha just how much the cub had cost, usually during one of his rages, and this gave Ma'Zha an idea. Along with food Ma'Zha had another collection, taking from even Jarem he hoarded any valuables he could muster with the hopes that if he could collect enough, he could purchase himself. It was during one of his robbery attempts when he was fourteen that Ma'Zha met Neos, the Imperial finding Ma'Zha elbow deep in one of his saddle bags.

Though he was able to lose the Imperial by dodging through alleys and crowds, or so he thought, Ma'Zha soon found himself face to face with the 17 year old Imperial who managed to track him to the alley where Ma'Zha was storing his valuables. Jarem arrived shortly after Neos, infuriated by Ma'Zha's absence and accusing the cub of stealing from him. Neos knew first hand that Jarem's accusations were true, but he still found himself sympathizing for the Khajiit. Neos offered Jarem an alternatum; he could kill the Khajiit or he could sell him to Neos and in exchange, along with the coin in his coin pouch, Neos would tell Jarem where Ma'Zha was storing the stolen goods, a cache which Neos knew to contain more than just the items Jarem sought.

As it turned out, Neos was one of a group which had traveled to Hammerfell in need of supplies after an attack on their town had left many injured. Though they were not happy with Neos for spending so much of their coin to purchase Ma'Zha, his company proved to be much nicer than Jarem. Markus, a retired Imperial soldier, was the group's leader and he insisted that Ma'Zha join Neos in his studies and even insisted that Neos start teaching Ma'Zha some of the simpler things, like speech, in hopes that Neos might learn a thing or two as well. Ma'Zha was taught at an early age not to speak as “it was not a slave's place to speak unless spoken to” but this group was very different from Jarem. In fact, Ma'Zha was ordered to stop calling Neos his master, the usual retort being “I am no-one’s master, and you are no-one’s slave.”

While they were traveling, Ma'Zha and company were captured by a group of Khajiit hunters, a band of Khajiit who robbed merchant caravans as they traveled from Hammerfell. Among the Khajiit bandits was Ri'San, the clan leader who, after confronting Ma'Zha about his “masters” recognized Markus' name. Despite having high respect for Markus, and Ma'Zha's obvious affection for Neos, Ri'San allowed Markus, Neos, Emalie, and Gerrad to go free but he demanded that Ma'Zha remain to join his clan. Ma'Zha was taken to a small Khajiit village just beyond Hammerfell's borders where he caught the eye of Ruje, one of Ri'San's younger but more experienced scouts. Ruje offered to take Ma'Zha under his tutelage and Ri'San agreed, allowing Ruje to oversee Ma'Zha's education and training.

Ma'Zha spent nearly a year under Ruje's watch and though he proved to be less than adept at fighting, Ruje taught Ma'Zha to hunt and scout and Ma'Zha learned a lot about Khajiit culture from the other villagers. Unfortunately, Ma'Zha found his life once again shifting dramatically when he awoke in Coldharbour with no idea as to what happened or where he was.

*Update

Age: 16
Rumors:

Ma'Zha's skills as a healer have only amplified in the last year, his skills surpassing those of many much older and far more experienced than him. This has only further encouraged the rumor that Ma'Zha is the cub of a powerful healer.

Ma'Zha keeps himself fed by hunting for food and studies woodworking and tailoring for extra income, and while he does not yet call any place home, he currently resides in Woodhearth, often found sleeping at the Inn or aboard Gnarlus' ship.

Ma'Zha seeks work but his age and honest nature have both proven to be hinderances.

Being around so many khajiit has helped Ma'Zha greatly in learning to speak, and he has learned much about his own culture.

Background:

Since his escape from Coldharbour, Ma'Zha has fended primarily for himself. Ma'Zha was able to sustain himself by hunting for food, harvesting plants and wood for crafting, and eventually made his way to Woodhearth where he currently resides. Taking after Ruje, Ma'Zha has adopted the habit of wandering off on his own to train, often times finding himself in dangerous situations but these sessions have more than paid off as his abilities as a healer and hunter have grown tremendously. Despite spending so much time alone however, Ma'Zha has not taken after Ruje in regards to being antisocial and still seeks out company whenever he can find it. Ma'Zha has also given up stealing for the most part, resigning himself to only steal from those he considers to be thieves or immoral, most often bandit camps he happens across during his travels.
