(( This is a story written to flesh out Sylvarris' backstory & character. If I make any lore mistakes, please correct me. Also, my apologies for any writing flaws, I am by no means an author. Otherwise, enjoy. ))
Woodhearth - Present Day.
Sylvarris took a deep breath. The air smelled of salt. He smiles, the wind gently running through his hair. He gazed out off of the docks, watching the sun rise slowly in the distance. He came here often, as it was his place to enjoy peace and quiet and relax, if only for a few minutes. This particular day had been rather eventful for the Altmer. He closes his eyes, and loses himself in thought and memory.

Cyrodiil - A few years before
"Bloody hell..." Sylvarris was the first of the group to speak as they gazed out over the chaos. The next to speak was the Khajiit. "This one thinks that is exactly what that is." And it was. The fort their unit had been reassigned to was mostly destroyed, two out of the four walls were nothing but rubble. A sea of red swarmed the fortress, ballistae and trebuchets lining up to fire upon the inner keep.
"What do we even do?" the healer asked, still in shock. One of the Bosmer replied. "We wait. There's nothing we can do to help them now." They set up camp on the hill, and no-one spoke for the rest of the night, the sounds of battle slowly fading as the Pact crushed what remained of the defenders.
The next morning was quiet. Sylvarris sits on the opposite side of the hill as the camp. He listens silently as soft footsteps swish through the grass behind him. His eyes don't turn from the ruins of the fortress even as the graceful healer sits down next to him. "Why are you up so early, Sy?" she asks lightly. He finally turns to look her in the eye, his golden meeting her blue. "Couldn't sleep." he replies. A slight frown crossed the pretty Altmer's face. She nods. "Neither could I. Too much to take in, I suppose." It goes quiet again for a few moments, both bowing their heads in thought. Sylvarris raises his head, staring out across the former battlefield. "We should go out there, look for survivors." He pauses for a moment. "When the others wake, of course." The healer replies somberly. "I agree, but we're not likely to - " She is cut off by the sound of loud yawning. "Khajiit wonders, what are you two discussing over there, by yourselves?" Both of the Altmer turn, staring at the half-naked Khajiit male, standing a couple feet away, grinning. Sylvarris chuckles. "Stars above, Dar'ashi. How long were you standing there?"
"Not very long, only a couple minutes." He smirks, the new morning light shining off of his sleek black fur. "But long enough that this one hears we are going into the ruins, yes?" The healer nods. "Yes, Dar'ashi. Now please, put some clothes on and wake the twins." The Khajiit gives an overdramatic bow. "As you wish, Mrs. Arryn." He straightens and walks back towards the camp. Arryn turns to Sylvarris, and smiles. "I'm going to go get ready." She stands and leaves. Sylvarris stays for another minute, listening to the quiet chatter back at the camp. He finally gets up and leaves, smiling and nodding to the Bosmer twins. "Morning Donaen." he says to the brother. "Morning Inalee." to the sister. They wave at him, then go back to getting ready. After a couple minutes the small camp is packed up, and the group is standing around, set to leave. "Everyone ready?" Sylvarris asks. Each individual nods in turn. "Well then, let's get going."
