This is my first attempt at something like this.. I'll come back and add more and more as time goes on
Uthia awoke with a splitting headache, the smell of the rich forest floor humus filling her nose. She turned onto her back and looked up in the rays of sun filtering through the green leaves of the trees above her. Why did he do this to me? Another question, a better question, where did he go? She had been enjoying a walk through Valenwood with her parents when her mother had started acting strangely. Her mother had gotten a wild gleam in her eyes and had uttered a feral snarl. Uthia's father had scooped up his daughter and fled through the forest, forsaking the paths in hope that her mother wouldn't follow. His plan worked but it wasn't long before he started to get a wild look in his eyes. He slowed to a stop and put Uthia down. He looked into her green eyes and smiled, "I'm sorry, love." as he hit her over the head with a rock.
She whimpered and curled up into a ball as she remembered what had happened. She lay there for hours wondering where her parents were, why her father had struck her, when they would come get her. The sunlight started to fade and the stars entered the sky, she shivered. They must be gone, she said to herself. Tears filled her eyes and she almost let them fall but she sniffed, crossed her arms, and stuck her lower lip out. "No!" she yelled, "I won't cry! I'll find my way back home in the morning and everything will be alright." She wrapped her arms around herself and huddled underneath a tree.
The morning sun found her walking through the dense forest. She walked for hours and hours without seeing anyone. Noon brought her to a road. She paused, uncertain on which direction to choose when she heard footsteps coming her way. Good, she thought, maybe it's someone who can help me. As she waited by the roadside she a saw two argonians and a guar crest the hill in the road. They saw her and paused, they were essentially trespassing through the Bosmers' territory and it would mean their death if they were to be caught. But when they looked upon her closely they noticed the dirt on her face and the blood in her hair. Fresh-Leaves looked at her husband, Grey-Tail, with sorrow. "We have to help her. Look! She's lost." Grey-Tail looked as his wife's face, the look in her eyes told him that he would win no argument. He sighed, "Alright, throw her up on Chomps and we'll take her with us." Uthia listened to this conversation with mixed feelings, either she could go with the Argonians and stay with them or she could run back into the forest and try to find her parents. She clenched her jaw, folded her arms across her chest and glared at Fresh-Leaves when she attempted to put her on the guar. Uthia walked up to the pack animal, looked back into the forest, then climbed onto the guar. Fresh-Leaves smiled at Grey-Tail. He huffed and led his wife, the guar, and the strange Bosmeri girl down the road...
