Mija
image no longer hosted — http://s26.postimg.org/hufwifbll/Mija.jpg[/img]
Race: Imperial
Gender: Female
Age: 32
Marital Status: Unmarried. Uninterested in: romance, flirtation, close personal relationships.
Appearance: Brown hair, lightened by the sun, which falls past shoulders. Clear youngish-looking skin with steel grey eyes. Small for her race, average weight with a fair bit of curve on her hips and thighs.
Flair: Having little care of appearances and social norms, (they were not needed in seclusion) Mija dresses in rags and “borrowed” clothing.
Rumors: Craves adventure and thus, has little time for socializing. Has significantly more book-smarts than street-smarts. Since leaving the monastery, she seems to always be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Mija’s moral compass forces her to do the right thing in serious matters – even if it’s a tiny bit illegal. She is displeased with always making the right choices, but her instincts are faster than her thoughts. When betrayed it's a personal scar that does not heal and she does not forget. When the situation requires, Mija can be manipulative and cunning, traits that surprise those who know her superficially.
Habits: The valuables of criminals are free loot as far as Mija is concerned. She likes to carry flowers in her pockets and bags. Always over toasts her bread.
Likes: The smell of forests. Walking the shore line. Cheese and sweets.
Dislikes: Prejudice. Wet socks. Hot weather. Oogling men.
Background: Scholars found her among stacked books in their monastery library as an infant. It was and still is, a great mystery how she came to be in that secluded, well-fortified location. At age 30, she left the comfort of her guarded life to search for answers regarding her heritage and strange memory-like visions of events that would be impossible for her to witness from her monastery home. For the past 2 years she has traveled, not quite aimlessly, following the clues her visions provide.
An Introduction by Mija: You're probably wondering why I'm meeting you by letter, rather than in person. It’s just that the lock on this cell refuses to open. Well...I won't be here long. All I have to do is open the lock. I keep a pick in my left shoe but it seems to have fallen into the grate next to my bedroll. Once I have the pick in my hands I’ll be free. I'm just taking a break from everything for now. Just relaxing.
I’m no criminal or anything, don’t worry about that, friends. I simply made a mistake, its silly when you think about it. See, as an adventurer I don’t make a lot of money. Sure, I can live comfortably in the inns when I’m willing to spend time telling stories. But, I don't get to have the nicer things so... I tend to take things… and keep them. Hey, they were stolen from their rightful owners before I got my hands on them!
So anyway, I was inside some criminal boss’ house, I checked if everybody was asleep and they were. Well, they should have been asleep, anyway. I'm in there pocketing all the good stuff when - and I couldn't believe it - there's this kid about 5 or 6 years old and next thing I knew the kid started screaming! It turns out Boss was a swordsman as well… he comes down the stairs waving a steel longsword and I froze. I was at complete loss as to what to do, so I ran.
Here's where it gets worse, at the tavern across the street a fight had just been broken up. Well, directly in front of me the 5 guards who broke that fight were walking away! So, old Boss just shouted at them and they all descended on me like hungry bears! So here I am, in this dingy cell with the dusty skeleton of the poor chump who called this cell home before me.
Well friends, its time for me to be off. Mister Skel E. Ton here had the same good sense as me. One pick right here in his old shoe! We’ll be meeting soon, in person next time.
