@Grinning_Warrior
Name: Tarthain Barkskin
Age: 189
Race: Bosmer
Flair: With an overall barbaric if not savage appearance, Tarthain is covered head to toe in blue tattoos, from which he claims to receive magical blessings. He wears his hair like a topknot, with all the rest of his hair shaven off. Despite his outward appearance, he holds himself like a civilized -Mer and is not ashamed of his people's traditions.
Rumors: It is believed Tarthain is a fanatic to the Green Pact, as he actively encourages his brothers and sisters to continue cannibalizing their defeated foes and to give up eating plants before it is too late for them.
His hot temper might have gotten him in trouble more than it should have. These numerous situations may have made him some enemies.
It is believed he uses Skooma, as he is frequently seen with his Skooma-drinking Altmer buddy or in some sort of stupor at times. Given that he does not touch alcohol, as it is brewed from hops, grapes, or whatever, Skooma seems a more likely candidate.
Background: Born on a remote village bordering Elsweyr, Tarthain grew up under the influence of the storytelling Spinners. He was indoctrinated into the Bosmer culture at a young age during an Uthrapa feast, when he partook in eating a Khajiit who was trespassing too close to his village. Seeing cannibalism as a normal thing, growing up, Tarthain quickly fell in line with the Green Pact without any flinching or question.
For 50 years he lived with his tribe, partaking in the Mourning Wars as a brave warrior. He was made into a man at 22 when his mother was captured to replace a wife of an elder from a neighboring village. Never to see her again, he learned the virtues of fury and how anger and intimidation can go along way. Unfortunately this did not translate well into modern society. However, just as all Bosmers should, he stopped dwelling on the past after some time, and homed those skills towards living for the now. This turned him into a cruel and relentless berserker.
When he was 53, Tarthain met the Skooma-swigging Altmer named Megul, who was living out in Valenwood at the time. He initially tried to kill him, but when Megul hurled a javelin of raw magic through Tarthain's shoulder the Bosmer soon learned respect for this man. Left for dead in the wilderness for days and refusing medicine, Tarthain surely would have died had it not been for the mercy of Megul. The Altmer came back to the dying Tarthain and patched up his wounds with restoration magic, and ever since Tarthain has sworn comradeship with the outsider.
He left his tribe and village to see the world. Living the life of an adventurer and treasure hunter, Tarthain has experience doing a lot of jobs. This is something he is proud of. Having been through many phases of his life, Tarthain's lust for war, violence, and fortune always seems to resurface after long enough breaks from adventuring. His father and siblings say it will be the death of him and on many occasions they have tried to stop him from leaving his tribe, but he could never stay long in his lone village.
He has never lost his faith in the Green Pact, and still upholds its strict practices even far away from Valenwood. He has never been shy about this either. Combine this with the fact that he is prone to violence, Tarthain has made many enemies in his path even with-in the Aldmeri Dominion. Though he has become accustomed to Altmeri culture, he still feels more at home among the trees and wilds.
