Name: Gia
Age: 46
Race: Altmer
Class: Sorcerer
Flair: no visible scars, some tattoos
Rumors: Refuses to pick locks

Gia was born with a different name, she chooses not to remember most of it, Gia is good enough.
Born on her ancestral estate south east of Cloudrest, Gia lived a life of leisure, wanting for nothing, pampered and ignored by her parents. She neglected studies that did not interest her and spent many hours working on subjects she liked, and while her teachers told her Parents, her parents did nothing.
Stories of the superiority of the Altmer Race in all things compounded the vision Gia had of herself, Magic was fun, weapons a bother, reading fun, working was… well… work, cooking was a task left to servants, eating was something that was done each day in silence.
Gia was also expected to be seen, but not heard at every party or gathering her parents had at the estate, leaving no more than half a bell after the end of the receiving of guests, prior to any food or drink being served, but was never allowed to visit the estates of other families, she had few if any friends, having been told they were below her station.
When Gia was in her thirties, her Parents informed her that her new husband would be arriving in 3 days, he was a well propertied man of impeccable breeding whose wife had died suddenly the year before after years of not giving him an heir, she would be expected to do better. An argument ensued between Gia and her Father, her mother standing silently behind her husband, nodding at each of his points. After almost a bell of yelling back and forth, Gia’s father dragged her to her room and locked her in, telling her to get used to the idea that her life was not her own to control, that she would have to get used to doing what she was told, when she was told.
That night, Gia climbed out of her bedroom window, down to the ground and ran… her pockets filled with the few gold coins she had and her jewelry.
After a week, wearing stolen clothing and hungrier then she had ever been, Gia found herself in a town on the coast, large enough to have a port, but not large enough to have a bustling trade route. She found a trader to buy some of her jewelry and pay her enough to rent a room and get a meal. The following day, she bought passage on a ship to Auridon.
Several days had passed at sea, Gia was almost used to the movements that had upset her stomach for the first few days, she had spent two days hung over the rail. She still could not spend much time looking at the horizon before her stomach started to turn sour again, but at least she could now at least
glance at it now… the first mate, a female Khajiit named Riggum-ortis told her that she would get her full sea legs soon enough, but she would need to eat more to keep up her strength. It was late afternoon when sails were seen on the horizon, several sets, coming fast on the wind, the flags were the red and black of the Pact.
The ship was overtaken quickly and forced to stop when the crews of the other ships threatened with Archers and Ballista… The ship was boarded and the cargo was searched, most that had any value was taken, several sailors and most of the passengers, Gia included, were trussed up and dragged into the hold of one of the ships… beaten and gagged Gia and her fellow prisoners were huddled together, a few of the more mature women were dragged off and used by the crew, to be returned later, bloody and battered, all unwilling to talk of the horrors they had been subject to. Gia and some of the younger women were separated from the rest of the group, the Captain made it clear that the younger women would be more valuable unspoiled.
Sometime later, a storm struck the ships, two were sunk off the shore and the other 3 were blown on some rocks, most of the crew and prisoners drowned, those that survived were dragged from the shore by members of the worm cult

Name: Knightlady
Age: 41
Race: Altmer
Class: Templar
Flair: no visible scars, some tattoos
Rumors: Feels picking locks is an affront to the Gods

Knightlady is the fourth child of a family with seven children, born during the autumn in the dead of night.
She started out doing Chores around the house her family lived in on the summerset islands, and later worked at several odd jobs from delivery person and messenger to laborer, her oldest brother had worked with their father hauling things, but had left to join the guard, returning home on leave with trinkets and other items for his family as well as stories from far off places, two years after he joined the guard, word came that he had died in a “Skirmish” with some group of rebels in far off Gratwood.
Grentum, the second son had fallen from the wagon and never been the same, quiet and slow, he worked for father without complaint, but also without much of anything… Jariun, the oldest daughter found she had a fair hand and enjoyed Fathers business, something Knightlady could not understand.
Knightlady still remembered the stories her brother had told, she lived them in her dreams, wishing to be the hero from the stories, not the daughter of a wagon driver. She thought her brother, a young and strong youth, had been killed. She thought that all she needed was training and then she could get revenge for her brother… all she needed was the training.
Knightlady’s chance came when members of a Religious Order came through town with their weapons and Armor on their way back to their monastery after a victory over a maormer force that had landed nearby. With her parents permission, she joined the young recruits that followed in the wake of the monks.
For the next few years, Knightlady’s life revolved around learning to read and write, to fight and to channel the power of the gods. She found most of the training exhilarating and was initiated into the order of Templars, the martial healers fought with the knights of the order when the call came... but the call did not come, what did come was a request from a member of the gentry, one who supported their monastery with funds, supplies and lands.
The Master, leader of the Monastery, brought Knightlady into his office and introduced her to an old man sitting with a younger man standing behind him, “This is Lord Frangelston, and his heir Frampton, they have a request for us, and I have chosen you for the task.”
Lord Frangelston sipped his tea and smiled at Knightlady, “She will be perfect for the task I think, let me explain it to her and see what she says. I contracted with another family for the hand of their daughter, to marry Frampton here, Gianopilus Grandilor is about your age, and soon after we signed the papers, she disappeared, that was about a week ago. We arrived at the estate to find the place in an uproar, it seems her Parents told her she was to marry me, not knowing I had already adopted my sisters second son as my heir and was trying to find him a wife.” He paused to take another sip from his tea, then continued, “What I asked Master Quai for was a young female with some healing skill and brains, I wish her to find Gianopilus and bring her home safe to meet my Heir, as I had written into the contract, if they agree after the meeting, they will be married. The problem is I do not want to alert her parents what I am setting up, I fear my opinion of Lord Grandilor is no longer very favorable, he is a pompous ass with delusions of grandeur, anyone that would agree to marry off their daughter to an old man like me should have their mind examined by priests and healers. You will have to start outside the grounds of the estate, see if you can pick up her trail, follow her and bring her back here. Once you are back, the Master will send word and we will return to meet her.”
Three days later, Knightlady found herself sneaking through the woods around the Grandilor Estate, trying to find the tracks of Gianopilus or her kidnappers. It had been over a week since the girl had left, and Knightlady expected the tracks would have faded in that time, but hoped she or her kidnappers, were not woodsman.
The Estate was huge, and the search took another two days, but a few broken branches and a large scuff down an embankment gave her the start she needed. Knightlady followed the tracks as she could, this Gianopilus had little if any woodcraft, and an abysmal sense of direction, but the single set of tracks showed that she had indeed run away and not been kidnapped. The Path was twisted and turned, it took almost twice the distance to follow the path then as the bird flies. She had slept under a bush one night, near a fallen tree another and Knightlady found a farm where Gianopilus had stolen some clothes from a drying line, the owners said they followed the path and had found some very dirty but very good
clothes that they accepted as in trade. They were happy to show Knightlady where the path went and where they found the clothing.
Remembering the map at the monastery and thought that her quarry had been headed toward the coast, and decided to take a more direct route, she hoped cutting the gap between her and Gianopilus more than the 2 days she already had. While her idea worked, it did not work as well as she had hoped, it took her more than a day along the coast before she found the village Gianoplius had stopped in and left, about 6 days before.
Using some of the funds Lord Frangelston had given her, Knightlady booked passage on a fast ship that was headed to the same port in Auridon that the merchant ship had been headed for, hoping to arrive close to the same time. Instead, a few days out, they caught sight of the floundering merchant ship limping along, half of its crew missing or dead and the Captain beside himself, worried about what would happen when he arrived in Skywatch with almost half his cargo missing, let alone the passengers.
Knightlady met with the Merchant Captain as well as the Captain and First mate of the Messenger ship she had booked passage on, she explained the mission she was on and who was funding it and why, after the horrors the Merchant Captain spoke of and how the Pact Sailors had treated his crew, killing several before they boarded, and a few more after just out of hand, including his own first mate with whom he had sailed for many years, the Captain of the Messenger ship agreed to give chase, but not to attack as there were several Pact ships, and his crew, while strong, would not have a chance against the crews of the Pact ships. The Captain also put a few of his sailors, under his second mate, on the merchant ship to help them get to Skywatch, as well as the messages he had to deliver and a note to send on to the leaders of the Dominion about his change of destination and why, as well as a promissory note from Lord Frangelston that would defray any costs incurred.
The Ship made good time headed in the direction the Pact ships had taken, and after several days saw what looked to be storm clouds off in the distance, but the Captain said the storm looked unnatural, it seemed to blow up without warning and was smaller than it should be considering how bad it looked in the distance and, he said, “It is right in our path.”
They navigated the ship to miss the edge of the storm, but as fast as it blew up, less than two hours later, it disappeared just as suddenly. The captain of the ship turned the prow toward where they had seen the storm, but was very wary about their approach, his crew stood ready to react as best they could to anything that happened, knowing that the best they could do if another storm sprang up was to run from it as fast as the storm winds would allow and prey to the gods for salvation.
It was the next morning while sailing up the coast, the lookout spied the wreck of a ship on some rocks, the only colors that could be seen were the black and red symbol on what was left of the stern.
Knightlady asked the Captain if she could be put ashore, reluctantly he agreed, and members of the crew rowed her to shore as close as they could with the rocks, but still several hours away by foot. Several of the sailors asked if they could accompany her, but she refused them, “Your path lies another way, go now and may the Gods bless you all.”
Knightlady found the tracks of the survivors and their captors and followed them into the hills. They seemed to set a brutal pace for their prisoners, it was not that bad for Knightlady, she made good time but as she crested a hill, she was beset by a patrol and while she killed several, she was beaten near to death by the rest. When she woke, she was in a cell, and a ghostly figure called her Vestige and spoke to her about escaping…
