Leaving the past behind

A Gata

After reading the clannfear Patossauru's mind and discovering Maja had been spotted by a couple of daedra on the road to Greenshade, A Gata is at her favorite tree hole in Grahtwood with Patossaurus and Spore, while Brilho had volunteered to be the first to patrol the area.

The twilight and the khajiit had a trouble relation, as the second one was a bit scared by the tremendous power the first had, and also scared of retaliation, as both had only met because Gata had exterminated Brilho's family when the twilight was a mere egg. Gata had been attacked by a twilight who, as she retaliated, ran back to it's nest, and A Gata, in a surge of rage, killed them all, smashed all the eggs she could find. When she got back to her senses, she realized there was still an egg left, which she took under her care. As soon as Brilho could understand her mind, she showed the twilight her thoughts on what happened to the Daedra's family, and begged for it's forgiveness. The Daedra ran off, but a week later returned, seeking an alliance: She would protect Brilho from others like her, and Brilho in return would forgive her, or at least try to. After a couple of months, Brilho became so protective of Gata, that it is no longer clear who is under the other protection.

She is seated on her knees, and makes a silent prayer to the Divine, asking them to appease Maja's heart.
The letter seemed almost friendly, and that was what most scared Gata, as Maja had previously pretended to be Gata's friend, only to attempt to kill her when she had her guard down.

Unsure what to do, knowing that Maja could be approaching the area, Gata tries to find a solution to her dilemma.

She asks for the Gods for guidance in a low chanting.

Maja-daro

After following Gata's scent to Sren-ja, Maja-daro leaves towards Grahtwood.
She has business to attend to in Elden Root and she knows now that Nahrazahd, her little step-sister, has some kind of business with a big clan in Sren-ja, which means if she wanna catch her, the easy thing to do is sit near the clan house and wait for her to come.

She arrives at the great tree and immediately finds her contact with the Queen's guard. Now a member of the Queen's personal squad, an Eye of the Queen, Maja-daro was hoping to leave the past behind.
She had a good life now, and was allowed by the highest authority in the Dominion to be herself, which meant the occasional stealing and kidnapping. Maybe some dismembering of enemy's limbs, just for fun.

After receiving orders to capture ambassador Tarinwe, Maja left to investigate, but caught Nahrazad's trail once more and couldn't help herself but to follow.
She had much to tell her little sister, much to show. And maybe, if she felt like it, some apologies to give.

A Gata

Gata woke up, but didn't open her eyes, as a strange light was hovering around her. She could hear a tiny voice telling her to wake up, but she couldn't figure out where it came from.
She slowly opened her sensitive eyes, being careful to adjust them to the sudden light.
The tiny voice in her head kept going "Hey!!! Wake up!!!"
She realized she must have fallen asleep while chanting and waiting for Brilho's return.

After what seemed like years, her mind finally adjusted and she could recognize Navi, one of Shegorath's many servants, his way of showing he favored her. She smiled at the small light, which she was led to believe was either some sort of fae or a ghost, but she never could see exactly what shape it had, for it shined too bright. "Grrrreetings Navi" she said yawning.

Still circling Gata's head, Navi said "Listen!!" and Brilho, the twilight, approached the khajiit, close enough for the khajiit touch it's forehead.

A Gata then reached her hand out, touching the twilight's head and humming some sort of chant.
After a couple of seconds, Gata was able to read the daedra's thoughts, and learned that Maja-daro was getting closer.

Scared for hers and her minion's life, Gata gathered her things and left for the nearest wayshrine.
She hoped she didn't forget anything behind, but she had to leave.

Maja-daro

Following Gata's scent, Maja was led to the middle of the woods, near a large hollow tree. She didn't need to go inside to know her sister was already gone, but she did so anyway.
Inside she found a beautiful staff with two moons carved on it.
Immediately she knew that Gata had just left and was in a hurry, probably running from her. She smirked, a little satisfied to cause that effect on people.

She took the staff with her and began to run in the shadows, as fast as she could. Using her feline senses, she went back to following Gata's trail, laughing to herself the whole time.
Maja always had fun with her little scaredy sister.

A Gata

Arriving the Gir-Var-Delle Wayshrine, Gata was exhausted. She was used to running, she liked it, but run when you are carrying a heavy bag, and your heart is trying to jump out of your mouth is really difficult.
As she stopped a minute for air, Navi appeared again and restarted to shout "Hey!! Watch out!!!"
Looking behind her, Gata spotted a dark shadow approaching, carrying a familiar scent. She could hear a wild laughter come from the same direction.
There was no doubt that was Maja.
Gata jumped and ran with her minions carrying her bag, which she forgot about, behind her. She touched the blue glow stone and muttered as low as she could "S'ren-ja"

A blue light surrounded her and she could hear Navi's warnings "Watch out! Helloooo? Listen!!"

Maja-daro

Not able to stop herself from laughing with excitement, Maja couldn't help but notice that her little sister was followed by some daedra.
She got curious. The khajiit asked herself how long had it been since they had last met.

Her tail swishing behind her, she didn't need to hear what Gata said to the wayshrine stone, she knew where her sister would be.
"She would too seek refuge in some clan had she been chased by someone like Maja", she thought proudly.

Putting her hand on the blue stone, she yelled "S'ren-jjjjjjaaaaaaaa" and was immediately surrounded by a blue light.
She couldn't help but laugh.

A Gata

Thinking that there would be no way for Maja to track her to S'ren-ja, Gata relaxed the moment her feet hit the ground, which didn't prepare her for what was to come.

As she counted her minions, she was suddenly tackled to the ground as Navi came out of nowhere again and begun shouting "Watch out!! Watch out!!!"

The minute she hit the ground, she heard a wild laughter and a familiar voice, her heart froze.

Maja-daro

Maja got out of the wayshrine, thiking her little sister would have been already gone to that clan's house.
She got really excited to see her being a 'dumb-dumb' and hanging out with her... pets, just outside.
Quickly lurking in the shadows, Maja charged at A Gata, making them both fall down, Maja on top, pinning the little sister with her head facing the ground.

Laughing histerically, Maja got off the other khajiit and offered a hand "Come on, take this hand"

A Gata

She was terrified, but she couldn't let it show. If she did, it might be the end of her.
Taking the other's paw, she stood up and forced an awkward smile.
"Maja! What is khajiit doing on this side of Tamriel?"

Maja-daro

Snickering at her sister's attempt to hide that she had just ran away from Maja a moment ago, decides to play along.
She is not here to fight, although she enjoys seeing her sister being afraid of her.
Giving her best smile, she said "This one has missed her little sister. She looked for you everywhere..."
Maja then drove a claw to her mouth "She even asked around a clan house, she heard Nahrazad has made new friends"

A Gata

Feeling as if someone had put an icecube at the back of her shirt, Gata became speechless.
She began to panic as she thought to herself "Oh Divine, how did she find me?"

Clearing her throat, she mumbles "Maja-daro... Thiss one doess not want annny trrrouble... Sshe iss jusst coming home frrrom a long day with herrr... frrriendss" at the last bit, she looks at her minions, hoping they would be ready to attack when the time came, but not before Maja did the first move. A Gata thought wiser to wait and see what her sister wanted.
After all, Gata did hope for the best.
So trying to give her sister a chance, she added "She isss glad to sssee you doing fine..."

Maja-daro

The khajiit asked herself, "how long did her sister stay in the woods?" Her accent was now so strong, she almost growled instead of speaking. She wondered then, if Gata was still the strongest and smartest of them all, as she was when they were younger.

"Nahrrrra..." Maja took an extra time saying the 'R'. As the younger khajiit looked at her, she said "Could khajiits go somewhere more comfortable? This one has many things to tell, and many more to ask..."

A Gata

Eyes dark with suspicion, only nodded and led the way to a bridge nearby.
The bridge, even though was close to the city and the wayshrine, was not usually frequented by anyone, and Gata had spent many nights underneath it, and she had some weapons hidden in places only a person of her talents could reach.
As they went under the bridge, rain started to fall from the sky and Gata relaxed a little.
Making a low chant, she put fire in a pile of dry wood she had hidden there, making some sort of campfire.
She then took some rock and protected the fire, making also a nice solid base.
Taking a cauldron from her bag, she went in the rain to collect water, but she took her time, feeling the rain soak her furr.
Gata knew the rain was a sign from the Divine, telling her everything would be ok, but she could never be completely relaxed around Maja. At least not now.
She made a silent prayer as she went back to under the bridge.

Maja-daro

As Gata went to fill that pot she took from her purse with rain water, Maja decided to fix the stones around the fire. She added metallic grill thing she had learnt how to create, right after she had been saved from that nasty coldharbor place.
She waited as her sister seemed to enjoy the rain, she used that time to put her thoughts in order.
How would she play this?
When Gata came back to the shelter under the bridge, Maja smiled and said "See this metallic thing?"
Not waiting for an answer, she said "Right after Nahra left us, Maja took over Nahra's gang, as Nahra well knows. She did many... illegal deeds and turned the gang to a different direction than the one Gata had given her" she was thoughtful "One day, she and Ubira broke into the Maomer embassy in Mistral. A very stupid decision Ubira had made... but this one would rather talk about him later" she stopped to take some air and saw that the younger one was now cooking something, she could smell carrots and sweet meat. Someone who didn't know Gata, would think she wasn't listening to what Maja said, but Maja could see that her eyes were dark, and her canine teeth were peeking out from her mouth, which happened when the younger one was suppressing a growl.
Clearing her throat she continued "She does not remember what happened then, all she remembers is later she woke up in a cell, a ghost person speaking to her. He told this one he was known as the Prophet, and that Maja-daro... had died" she stopped for dramatic effect

A Gata

She was listening intently to what Maja was talking. Unsure what to say, or what to believe, she decided to make a stew for both of them, maybe the older one would understand with that gesture that she meant peace.

As Maja kept speaking, Gata's eyes grew with wonder, and shock, and pain. So much pain.

Maja-daro

"She did somethings that are uncertain to her, and maybe one day she will be ready to tell Nahra, but, she wants to go to the important part: After she left that place, she fell at sea. Someone saved her, but when she learned who this person was, she got scared and ran away. She started to travel, with a friend she met, who hooked this one up with a really legit job. This friend, he thought this one how to make this metal work. He thought this one that a khajiit's life is supposed to be more than drawing blood and collecting gold. That person made this one understand... that maybe, just maybe, she could have a family, maybe, she could have a home to come to, if she would just..." Maja did not expect to burst out in tears.
She was always so cold and sure of herself. But after she lost her companion to the same dremora cult that took her life, she became a little bit used to crying. Just never thought she would do it in front of someone so dangerous as Nahrazad, the predator dressed as lamb, the Shadow, a Sombra. Before she could say something else, Nahrazad surprised her by hugging her, tears leaking from those golden eyes.

A Gata

Just couldn't help herself. She was indeed a diferent person than before, she noted. As she felt Maja's words were true, she couldn't hide it any longer. The khajiit almost dropped down her stew getting up and force hugging the other.
"Maja..." she said, as the other returned the hug "Thisssss one isssss ssssso glad you arrrrre back..."

A Gata

After having an emotive night, the khajiits decided that they would stay together for a while, as they sorted things out and reconnected, learned the new truths about each other.
After having breakfast, Gata left to run her regular morning errands: She'd go visit every nest around the area and check if the animal where ok, she'd also go visit the locals and ask them about their prayers and spiritual requests.

When she had that done, Gata went back to her bridge shelter but Maja wasn't there anymore.
She left and went to the Clan house to see her peers and have a nice beer.

Maja-daro

As she waited for her sister, Maja begun to think. Gata didn't explain her relationship with the Daedra, but she did explain that she had joined a clan and was working as an exorcist kind of priestess.
Maja wondered, she had orders from the Queen to find and capture another spy, this time a Dremora cultist.
Maybe Gata was the spy the Queen was looking for.
If that was the case, what would Maja do?

Torn between being her new righteous-like self (which meant that, if her sister was the spy, she would deliver justice as if Gata was anyone else) and her will to bond and have a family, Maja decided to leave the shelter and go at the clan's house. Perhaps she could learn something useful, and then act from there.
