Jedit left the Thalmor embassy in Woodhearth in a rush. Her expression and demeanor showed a barely-contained fury as she stomped down to the docks in long strides. Clutched in one fist, she held a crumpled parchment with just one word in bold letters on the outside: SUSPENSION. The tall, shapely Altmer booked passage on the first trade ship she could find going anywhere north.

Once the ship was underway, she finally let slip the mask of anger and indulged in a self-satisfied smirk. She looked down at the parchment and unfolded it, reading the orders fully for the first time:

This is an official notice of the Thalmor Headquarters. From this date, the Thalmor enforcer known as Jedit is hereby suspended from all official duties, privilages, and capacities pending investigation of her mental stability, loyalty, and possible criminal behavior. She is free to travel within Dominion territory during this period. Should the evidence prove insufficient, Jedit is to be reinstated and resume her normal duties. Otherwise, prosecution will proceed through normal channels.
Signed, the High Enforcer, X

She laughed lightly and released the letter into the breeze to be claimed by the sea. Finally, she had the time to herself to take care of a job she'd been neglecting for too long.

A week later, after the voyage and roundabout travel on caravans, Jedit arrived in Rawl'kha. She wore a tight-fitting wood elf style outfit that bared her midriff and walked with a sway in her hips, wanting to be noticed. Moving through the marketplace, Jedit was able to see over most of the crowd and navigated to the nearby inn, The Waxing Crescent. When the hour was late and the drinks were flowing, she began making tactful inquiries about who she should see if she wanted some "dirty work" handled.

Kyora was skulking around the Waxing Crescent Inn, doing her usual thing, when she happened by a conversation between an attractive female mer and one of the patrons. She procured from the conversation that someone with a certain skill set was required, the kind of skills she possessed given her line of work. Quickly lightening the pocket of her latest target, she moved into a position in which she could catch the potential client's attention.

At one of the tables in the Crescent Inn, a tall dark haired Imperial was enjoying a tall bottle of wine. He had been flirting with a pretty dark eyed Breton when he saw the flirty Khajiit that was tied to the tree in the middle of S'ren-ja before. He had been keeping an eye out for her since he saw she was no longer imprisoned to the tree. She had made quite an impression on him.

He excused himself to walk closer to where she was standing, but not close enough to seem too obvious. He hung back a few steps and just waited for an opportunity to reintroduce himself.

Kyora noticed the Imperial and smiled seductively.

"Hello, thiss one knows yourr face," she purred. "But does not have the pleasurre - yet - of knowing yourr name."

The imperial may notice that Kyora's accent had changed slightly, that is if he really paid much attention to it previously. Her stupid act was a put on, designed to fool the big Khajiit, Qaiit into thinking she was stupid - she was anything but.

Cesare couldn't help but give Kyora a big smile. He had a feeling that her dumb act was just that...an act. He was usually good at reading people and he figured her to be much more sneaky than innocent.

"Good to see you out and about, sweet thing. Did the big scary Khajiit believe your innocent act?" he teased her. Though he did wonder how good of an act she put on them to be set free. He could always use an ally with good acting skills.

"Can I buy you a drink?"

Kyora took a sultry step closer to the male.

"Thiss one is happy to be out and about." She tilts her head slightly as she survey's the Imperial with an almost predatory look."Thiss one will not refuse a drrink, if you wish to buy herr one. Thiss one is not known forr refusal." Her smile takes on a more lurid sense by the time her wandering eyes arrive at the man's face. Her eyes darkened with lust, he was all together delicious.

Cesare raised an eyebrow at the gorgeous Khajiit. She sure knew how to flirt, he thought. She was almost as good as he, almost. He motioned for the bar maid to bring over two drinks and then turned his gaze back to Kyora, leaning in a little to make sure she had his full attention.

"I'm Cesare, by the way. It is a pleasure to meet you, lass." He said in a husky tone as he noticed her eyes looking him up and down. How he loved it when people checked him out. He gave her the same attention, noticing her voluptuous curves that her clothing clanged to.

He looked up for only a second to notice the tall, serious looking Altmer woman enter and watched her a little more closely as she seemed to be looking for something. He had been to this Inn every night and she was a new face. He would continue to check on her, to see if she had anything to offer Cesare.

Kyora leaned forward giving Cesare an even better view of her 'assets' and creating less distance between them.

"Ceazarr, how ver-ry manly, thiss one is Kyorra, you rememberr perrhaps?"

She paid less attention to the Mer now, it was Sylva's job anyway to find her work, she didn't get paid anymore if she found contracts herself, stingy black demon that he was.

He liked the way she seemed to purr his name.

"Yes, Kyora. I very much remember you. Half naked and tied to a tree? That leaves quite an impression." he chuckled and took a small sip of his drink.

He kept eying the Altmer, studying her movements and who she talked to, while also concentrating on his conversation with the seductive Khajiit.

"So what do you do, Kyora? Now that you're free and all?" he gave her a sly smile and pushed the drink he bought towards her.

Kyora's hand purposely lingered over Cesare's as she took it from him, being sure to stroke it suggestively as she pulled it away.

"Thiss one does as she pleases, goes wherre she pleases. You have only to ask and Kyorra goes orr does. She is still with the clan, but not, depends on herr mood, yes? Today, she is herre, with you."

She winks, not taking her eyes off his face as she sips at her own drink, he is not hard to look at, even for a fur-less one.

He trembled a little when her hand ran across his as she was reaching for the drink. He was sure that she was just teasing him, and it was working, all his attention was now on her. He was reading her body movements and could tell that she was interested in him. He gave her another chuckle and finished his drink, while motioning for more.

"A free agent, aye? Good for you, lass. There's nothing worse that working hard to make someone else a lot of coin." He looked into her pretty eyes and smiled, trying to figure out if she was playing him for coin or if she only wanted a good time. She was a hard one to read, he admitted to himself.

It hadn't escaped Kyora's notice that Cesare was as interested in the Mer as she had been, originally. It wasn't a sexual interest, oh no that was all hers. She deduced that it was most likely one of business, she smiled as she thought about this. She turned from him 90 degrees, placing her back now firmly against the bar giving her a provocative arch to her body- inviting even - if he accepted, she would reward him with some information and a possible partnership offer, a bonus to the very good time she was offering Cesare, quite openly.

Cesare almost groaned out in protest when she turned away from him. But she had only readjusted her position, to either tease him or show him that she was in control. Or possibly both, he wasn't sure. But either way, he could tell that she was also eying the Altmer across the room. She was a potential business partner for them, he could tell. The only question now was, who was going to get her?

They could both compete for her attention, which could be risky for them since they both seemed very skilled and sneaky. Or...they could work together. Cesare had never worked with anyone before and never thought he would ever need a partner, but maybe now was a perfect time for change.

He raised an eyebrow to Kyora and gently brushed his hand down her arm. "Have you seen her around here before?" he asked Kyora, nodding his head to the Altmer woman. "It looks like she's looking for someone, maybe we are what she's looking for?"

Kyora smiled, resisting the urge to frown at his less aggressive acceptance than she had anticipated. At least now he had shown the cards in his hand, indeed his interest was a business one and she could work with that.

"This one overheard herr, as she was helping herrself to some coin." Grin. "Kyorra believes the Mer seeks a special someone to do a verry special job for herr. Khajiit saw herr firrst, yes. Kyorra is willing to fight you forr it, but she preferrs, maybe this once, to sharre. Parrticularrly, if it prromises to be morre... fun.

Kyorra's tail snapped once at the end of her sentence, anyone understanding cat body language would understand the meaning, she was wired.

Jedit shared small talk with an older redguard man at the table where she had found an open chair. It was clear she was only holding conversation with him to be polite, as her golden gaze kept scanning the crowd every few minutes. Although she had a drink in front of her she hardly touched it; another sign she was looking for something other than social activity.

After a few such glances in the direction of Kyora and Cesare, she caught the fact that the two of them were watching her as they talked, though their words couldn't be heard over the crowd at her distance. She held her gaze on them long enough to make clear her interest and then spoke to her redguard tablemate once more. The words did not carry beyond her table but whatever she said had an effect. The man looked incredulous, then angry, and got up and walked off leaving her alone at that table. Jedit wore a small smirk as she watched the man go.

The tall altmer woman studied Kyora and Cesare for a minute before she gave a tiny inclination of her head toward the now unclaimed chairs at her table, inviting them over. It could be a lost opportunity if the seats were filled by other travelers first.

From within the shadows of a darkened booth far from the others, an ember flared to life. The Dunmer channeled that old familiar cantrip to light the bowl of his pipe while he reclined with his back to the wall and legs crossed at the ankles.

Pale eyes watched primarily the Altmer, but not directly. He watched her through a cleverly placed mirror opposite the bar while he breathed the first sweet smoke. So quiet was he otherwise, that even the tavern keepers had yet to offer him drink, and he appeared entirely unbothered by this fact.

Cesare grinned at her offer. He normally worked alone and preferred it that way. And he never mixed business with pleasure.

But this Khajiit had his eye since he met her and he was eager to learn more.

"I believe the two of us could make anything fun." He said to her as he finished his drink. He looked up and noticed the Altmer making eye contact with the two of them and when she gestured to the two empty seats near her, he decided to take the opportunity. He gestured his own hand towards the empty chairs and gave Kyora a small bow.

"I think the lady wants us to join her. After you, lass."

Kyora pushed herself off the bar elegantly and with purpose. She paused for a moment to give the Imperial a well timed smirk, before sauntering her way toward the Altmer, making sure to add a little sway to her hips for the benefit of Cesare.

Cesare happily follow the Khajiit toward the way of the Altmer, enjoying the view Kyora was giving him. The way she moved her hips were causing a mischievous grin to form on his lips. And some equally mischievous thoughts to enter his mind.

But he tried to stay focused on the task at hand, once they reached the Altmer. He desperately needed coin. And a distraction from his troubles. Though Kyora would be a very pleasant distraction, he needed something a little longer lasting than just one night of fun and he hoped this Altmer had what he needed.

He pulled out a chair for Kyora, being the polite man he was, and let her sit down before taking a seat himself.

Sumar blew a small smoke-ring and let it rise from his booth, occupying his mind while he studied the pair that joined the Altmer at the table. One he recognized, and knew by name, the other he did not believe he did. He absorbed details of how they conducted themselves. Down to even taking note of which was their primary hand, how many weapons they could possibly conceal upon their person, and the likely arrangements of those weapons.

He chose to remain in darkness and silence, overhearing their voices at the table.

Jedit smiled at Cesare as they approached and took seats at the table. "Good evening," she offered politely. "I couldn't help but notice you over there. Both of you," she added with a little smile at Kyora, glancing her up and down once. "I'm in Rawl'kha on a little business errand, and I don't really know my way around. You both look like the capable sort, at least moreso than those I've met so far. I'm offering substantial payment but, if you'd rather not talk business I understand. I'm sure I'll eventually find someone willing to get their hands dirty in this place."

She leaned back in her chair, arching her back in a manner similar to Kyora's flirtatious pose earlier but not with quite the flexibility as the lithe khajiit. Still, she was shameless enough to mimic her without pretensions. "So, shall we discussion business, or pleasure? I only need to hear your names for one."

Cesare smiled as the woman talked. When she mentioned coin, she had his full attention.

"Dirty hands? Look no further. Do we look like the type to do honest work?" he gave her a wink along with his big smile. He noticed her attempt at flirting, she wasn't quite as skilled with it as Kyora or he, but she did look cute trying and he couldn't fault her for that.

"Apologies for not mentioning it sooner, my name is Cesare. And we may speak business if you prefer. What's on your mind, lass?"

Kyora kept silent, preferring to listen and take in the conversation; weighing, judging & measuring her new found acquaintances. She passed on the introduction for the moment, it bothered Kyora that the Altmer had not offered her name first, there was usually a good reason why a person did not do this - no she would wait for the moment and see what the lady wanted. Everything in Kyora's world came at a price. She would wait patiently to hear female's proposition, or walk. It totally escaped her notice that they were being watched by another pair of eyes.

Cesare's candid talk did little to instill confidence in the altmer woman. She eyed him carefully again across the table, trying to size up his potential. "Cesare, the job I need done requires subtlety and a deft hand. I'm not looking for brutes to pummel an ex-lover." She fell silent for a moment to hear his response to her chiding.

Weighing the options in her mind, she decided to risk spelling out the task for the two of them and see what they had to say. After all, she needed the job done quickly before she was called back to assignment and she had lost time making certain she wasn't being followed by spies.

"I'm trying to recover an heirloom that is rightfully mine. An expensive jeweled necklace currently worn by Lady Fairwen, a noblewoman altmer living in the village of Phaer on Auridon. Lady Fairwen lives alone but sometimes hires a bodyguard when she attends social events. I think she suffers from a bit of paranoia."

She gave a sigh of frustration, then continued, "Unfortunately, she has an enchantment on the necklace that allows her to find it whenever she 'misplaces' it. I don't want her to come looking for it, ever again."

She passed her gaze to Kyora and Cesare in turn and picked up her cup, swirling the wine within it. "So, the Lady Fairwen and the necklace. Is this something you think you can handle?"

Cesare tried not to roll his eyes at the woman. What is it with this place, he thought. In Morrowind people swooned at his words and he never had to work this hard to make a little coin. He would just flash a smile and some sweet words and he got whatever he wanted. But since he stepped foot in S'ren-ja, he got nothing but trouble. He was desperate now.

He let his grin fade a little and and rested his arm on the table, looking at her more seriously now, he answered her. "Recovering the heirloom would be no problem for me. I could be in and out before they even realize it's missing." he paused for a moment and took a sip of his drink before continuing. "The enchantment may be a little tricky, though. I should be able to find someone that can take care of that part, unless the pretty Khajiit here knows a thing or two about enchantments." he motioned to Kyora.

There, he thought, I was honest and serious for once. Let's see where this takes me.

Kyora smiled and moved over to stand seductively in the Altmer's space. She cast a cursory glance around the tavern before she spoke. It was at that time she noticed briefly the Dunmer who sat alone, mostly because she hadn't seen many before, but also there was an air about him that didn't quite fit in this setting, although Kyora couldn't quite put her finger on why.

In a lowered husky tone she answered the Altmer. "This one enjoys to do these things you ask, almost so much she would do them forr nothing. Howeverr, Kyorra likes to eat and she needs the money if she should do this forr you, yes? This one also prreferrs to worrk alone... " she glanced at Cesare. "But perrhaps this time she will allow company, he is handsome, yes? Something pretty to look at while doing the job."

The Dunmer held his pipe between his teeth as he slowly rose from his booth. A smooth cloak of silky black slid into his wake and pooled about the heels of smart boots. He was visibly armed, but only with the blade of a curved sword at his hip. All else must have been hidden, for he seemed the type.

Sumar paused long enough to slide coin to the waitress, and ordered a bottle of special white wine be delivered to the Altmer once he had left.

He turned to slip from the tavern. When he took up Evon's reins just outside, he left for the village of Phaer on Auridon.

Jedit had not noticed the Dunmer man at all, the way he had blended in to the darkened corner of the tavern room. Instead, she kept her eyes on the pair nearby.

She looked to Cesare first, appearing satisfied with his declaration. He really was a handsome fellow. She let her smile return. "The enchantment is of little concern. What matters is the woman never bothers me, or anyone, again." Then she looked up to where Kyora stood close to her and listened to her words. Then she talked while letting her gaze drift over the woman's curves. "Kyora, you say? I believe that between the two of you, I might finally get my heirloom. I'll be spending some time in the local area, being seen, building my alibi. You may find me here when the job is complete. Time is of the essence. Are there any other questions?"

He's pleased when the Altmer seems to warm up to him and even more so when Kyora mentions them working together. He thinks to himself that this would be well worth it if he's able to spend a little time alone with the Khajiit. Cesare smirks and raises and eyebrow to Kyora. "What do you think? Can we get this done together, sweet thing? I think it would be a lot of fun."

He never notices the Dunmer in she shadows, paying too much attention to the two attractive women before him.

Cesare gave a satisfied smile. This job sounded too easy, he really didn't need the help but he wouldn't try to take the job from Kyora. She may have needed the coin as much as he did.

"No questions here. We should probably get started on this right away." he looked to Kyora, "Unless you have somewhere to be."

Jedit nodded to them both. "Best of luck to you, then. Oh, I nearly forgot." She slid her hand down into the cuff of one of her tall boots and withdrew a small sack of coins, which she tossed to Cesare. "For your travel expenses. Don't expect it to cover luxuries. I look forward to seeing you two again." She raised her glass as if to toast to their journey and then finished off the glass.

When she set it down, a waitress arrived and placed a bottle of fine white wine in front of her. She looked confused for a moment and addressed the server," who ordered this?" The woman only gave a brief, mechanical smile. "Another patron who's already left paid for it, ma'am. Compliments." Jedit glanced then at Cesare and Kyora to see if they gave any indication of knowing about the gift.

Cesare raised his glass in the toast and offered an honest smile. He took the coin purse that was handed to him and decided to split it up later since Kyora was already up and leaving the table. He paused for a few moments, watching her leave.

When Jedit questionably held up a bottle of wine at him, he shook his head and fumbled with the coin purse. Now he wondered if someone had been eavesdropping on their conversation. Or it was possible that the good looking Altmer just had another admirer. Either way, Cesare didn't worry about it too much. He and Kyora had already been given the job and paid for it, no one else could take it now. He finished his drink and exited the Inn. He walked over to the stable where his horse, Spirit, was kept and was glad to see that his sister had finally returned her after stealing her a few days before.

He decided to go back to his room at the Inn, to get a good night's sleep and then head out to Phaer in the morning. He may even look for Kyora to see if she needed a ride there, he wouldn't mind the company.

The first thing Kyora did was speak to one of Sylva's associates, a Mage called Kalistia, who was located in the Mage's Guild at Rawl'kha. Her plan was to travel to Phaer via the Mage transport system within the guild. She was extemely disappointed to learn that she was not skilled enough in the magical arts to be able to avail herself of their methods. Nope she would have to travel there by normal means.

Kyora wound her way through the streets on the way back to the Inn. She emitted a dark cloud like energy, that anyone skilled in magic would have sensed. She was very angry, dangerously angry, and her thoughts now lay on Cesare -her would be partner in crime, except she only wanted his partnership in bed, the rest - was hers.

On his way back to the Inn, he spotted Kyora. She looked...determined. Or something. He couldn't quite place it. All he did know what that she didn't have that sassy playful look about her right now. He had hoped for some possible fun with her if he did happen to catch up with her tonight, but she didn't look to be in that type of mood.

She must be planning, coming up with a strategy. He thought. Maybe she's not the type to mix pleasure with business, at least maybe not until after the job is done.

He still had the coin purse in his hand. Cesare sighed and walked toward her, figuring now was the best time to give Kyora her share of the coin and see if she wanted a ride to their destination.

"Hey! Wait up, lass." He called out to her.

Jedit did as she said she would. She rented a room at the Waxing Crescent and generally stayed among crowds during the days. She would even travel about the local area, visiting S'ren-ja and other towns. In the evenings she would return to the inn and have drinks in the tavern until late hours, and when the opportunity arose she spent the night with other attractive travelers or locals.

With a slight cant to her head Kyora grinned a 'cheshire cat-like' grin and waited for his response.

She stepped closer to him and he was almost hypnotized by her. The way she moved, how she smelled, how she talked, it was all very seductive and he was falling for it like a teenager in lust.

"My room is just right over there." He pointed to the Inn they were just in, having drinks. "We can go there and count the coin and come up with a plan."

Cesare then bowed to her, mostly out of polite habit, and then led the way to the Inn. He went through the front doors, barley noticing anyone else in the bar downstairs and went up the steps and down the hall to the room at the very end. He opened the door and let Kyora walk in first before shutting the door behind him. The room was nice, with a large bed, table and chairs and a window with a nice view. He spent most of his coin on this room to impress the people he wished to bed.

He then walked over to the bed and sat down, while emptying the coin from the purse to start counting it.

Kyora entered Cesare's room in silence. She eyed the bed and the exorbitance of the room, but such things did not impress Kyora, she was as happy shagging in an alley as in palace bedroom, it mattered little to her - either did her choice of lovers of which she chose for different reasons. Her mind ticked over with several strategies during the time Cesare closed the door and sat on the bed. She paused and watched him counting out the money for a moment before speaking. "Excuse Kyorra, she needs to use the little girrls rroom for a brief moment."

Cesare barely looked up when she walked by. He only nodded and kept counting. He wasn't worried about Kyora stealing anything in the bathroom. He actually wouldn't have cared if she did, nothing in the room was his. He kept all his belongings on his ship. Right now he was only focusing on counting the coin. It only took a few minutes and he finally had two perfectly even piles of gold on the bed. He put one pile back in the coin purse for Kyora and placed the other pile in the drawer next to the bed.

Then he looked up and sighed. He couldn't have this lady clouding his mind. He needed to be in control. Cesare stood up and looked through the cabinets and drawers in the room and found a nice bottle of wine. He opened it, poured some into too glasses and sat back on the bed and waited.

The 'little girls room' was little more than a bucket and a screen but it was the privacy Kyora needed. She undressed down to her smalls and bent down to retrieve some tiny packets concealed within her clothes. Standing she looked around the room for something suitable to move on to the next step she had planned. Spying a hand basing, a jug of water and a rag used for washing she moves to stand in front of it.

Carefully she places down three packets beside it and takes the rag and places it in the basin and covers it with a little water until it is soaked but not flooded. She takes one packet, the paper is coloured black, opens it and tips the entire contents onto the rag. She takes the second packet, the paper is coloured red, this time she pours out half, and re-wraps the remainder. Kyora then takes the third packet and holds it between her forefinger and thumb a moment and mulls over a thought. After several moments pass she puts the packet back down and returns her focus to the mixture in the bowl before her. She mixes the contents thoroughly folding the rag over several times. Satisfied it is suffiecently mixed she sinks her claws into the mixture, a now grey looking substance which gradually turns clear. Kyora smiles as she removes her claws from the rag and turns to rejoin Cesare.

Kyora stepped back around from the screen and stood in an extremely provocative pose, leaving no doubt in Cesare's mind what she intended. She spied the drinks he had prepared and purred loudly as she crossed the room to join him completely.

Cesare was caught a little off guard when she came around the screen in just her smalls. Oh she was good, he thought. Usually with women, Cesare had to put a little more effort into getting them undressed, that was usually half the fun. He would usually bet against himself on how long it could take him to get all her clothing off. But it looked like Kyora was a step ahead of him again. How does she keep doing that? Was he that predictable and easy to read?

"You look incredible, lass. Come sit and have a drink with me first." He pat the bed with his free hand and offered her the drink that was being held in the other.

Kyora looked at spot on the bed Cesare patted and sauntered across the room to take the drink from him, but chose to stand close, directly in front of him so his eyes were now only inches away from her mid-section. She stood with legs slightly apart, confidence in every move - she indeed knew what she was doing, taking the drink to her lips, she held his gaze for as long as he continued to stare at her actual face and not the rest of her and drank it down long and slowly.

Going to keep this M - rated if it goes in that direction as this is not an ERP thread :) or Fade-to-Black is fine also ;) ... gentleman's choice. Kyora is more R rated anyway and does not belong in an ERP thread even if it came to that hehe. I hope Cesare knows what he is getting into *snickers*

He held her gaze for a long time, he thought her eyes were simply stunning. Then, after finishing the rest of his liquid courage, he set the cup down and stood up from the bed. He lightly brushed her side with his hand, enjoying the feel of her soft fur. He'd had all genders and races, but he sure did enjoy female Khajiit. They were just naturally seductive with a bit of a wild side.

Then he raised his hand to gently cup her face, "You are gorgeous." he told her as he leaned in to kiss her.

I have a feeling this will end badly for him in the long run but Cesare loves trouble, I feel for him lol And yes, if it continues to go in this direction, fade to black is completely fine. Don't want to smut up Milo's clean thread. And I wouldn't know what to do with Cesare in ERP anyway, ha! lol

Ya, Kyora knew she was gorgeous; to-die-for gorgeous - literally, and Cesare was kinda cute in a furless-one way. She would go easy on him as she doubted very much he could handle her wildness. Like all naughty kitties though, she liked to play with her prey before she landed the killing blow... lucky for Cesare because of his connection to the clan she had decided not kill, just disable. The poison on her claws would cause him to sleep a very long while, waking up to a hang-over to beat all hangovers. It should slow him down a few days depending on his constitution and/or resistance to the type of poison she had selected.

She smiled into that kiss and allowed Cesare to make all his moves, she played the pliable female role for him, boosting his male ego and taking her pleasure as it came to her and giving just enough to leave him wanting more. This was Kyora's favourite game of all, gods she loved her work.

The kiss started out soft and slow but it quickly turned more passionate. Cesare wanted her. Ever since he saw her tied to that tree outside the Clan Mother's house. She was almost like a drug to him. After a few minutes, he stopped and pulled away to look at her.

"Are you a Mage? Because I swear it feels like you've put a spell on me." It wasn't a pick up line, even though it sounded very much like one...and a bad one at that. He was genuinely curious and a little confused. What was with this woman? He wondered. He was so wrapped up in her that he wasn't even thinking about what she could possibly have had in mind for him.

Kyora pushed Cesare backwards down on the bed and straddled him bending down to stretch out along his body. She took hold of his gaze with emerald green eyes as she purred softly. "Possibly." She smiled and chuckled as she bent down to kiss along the crease of his neck. Gently and sensually she worked her way down one side. "Kyorra is many things to many people. What do you wish herr to be for you, hmmm." She changed sides and repeated the process once more as she waited for Cesare to answer her.

After a few moments, he leans up and puts his arms around her. "What's your plan? You going to just bed me and sneak out in the morning? Or do you not even spend the night? I just want to know if I should expect you and my coin to be missing in when I wake."

Cesare noticed the change in her accent, she was putting on that innocent act again. He was only being honest, and a little playful. He knew she was a thief, that's how he met her; tied to a tree for stealing from the clan. And she just seemed to be up to something, but he couldn't quite figure out what. Then he wondered if maybe he was just being paranoid.

He put on his sweetest smile, "Forgive me, sweet thing. I'm just being paranoid. Of course I trust you. Now, do you want to keep this up or have I ruined the mood?" he said as leaned in to kiss her neck.

Kyora grinned "Forrgiven, and yess keep it up." She grabbed his crotch lightly to emphasize what she meant and returned to her normal pattern of speech.

The two rolled around in that very large bed, the young man's stamina impressed Kyora and he was an excellent lover. Kyora took her pleasure before applying her claws down the length of his back. Breaking the skin and allowing the poison to mix with his blood. He would fall asleep for many hours and wake with a terrible headache, but she had been merciful - he would not die.

As Kyora redressed she looked at the sleeping Imperial, he was kinda a cute and he had pleasured her more than she had expected. In a second uncharacteristic act of kindness she left Cesare the entire amount of coin as a little thank you and set off for Phaer.

Cesare finally woke a few hours later. It was still dark out, but he wasn't sure how long he had been asleep for. His head was pounding and his memory a little fuzzy. He didn't remember falling asleep. He didn't even remember the end of his good time with Kyora. He remembered being almost finished when...noting. Darkness. He was out cold.

She did something to him. That was the only explanation.

He attempted to get up from the bed and yelled out in pain. His back was sore. Why was his back hurt? He slowly got up and walked over to the looking glass and saw claw marks going down his back. He was bleeding a little and also so something else mixed into the blood. It had to be some type of poison.

Was she trying to kill him? No, if she wanted him dead, he was sure she could have managed that. So she just wanted him out of the way then. It all came back to that job the Altmer had given them. Kyora really didn't want a business partner. She wanted a little play thing for a few hours.

He sighed and cleaned himself off. Then he got dressed. When he pulled on his boots, he saw the coin purse on the table next to the bed. Kyora left it there for him. But why? Why bother doing all this to get the job and then not get the coin? He had many questions with no answers. Cesare left the room to go find these answers.

Meanwhile in Phaer, the Dunmer rides his dark horse into the city from off of the roads and beaten paths. He takes extreme effort to not be seen coming into the city at all, leaving his horse hobbled nearby, outside of any wandering patrols.

Then he continues on foot. First placing a dark mask over his features before he slides into the shadows and seeks to learn more of the woman’s whereabouts. Judging by Jedit’s words, he begins to observe the wealthiest of homes, listening at windows. He also watches for any servants who might exit… and become useful. Even the homeless or down-trodden on the street.

Kyora made her way quickly to Phaer, keen to not waste the head-start she had given herself she chose the most direct path available to her. She grinned at her own cleverness when she slunk into the town several evenings later. She climbed up into a tree close to the village square and slept, deciding to wait until dawn to locate her mark's house.

Kyora's plan was simple, find the house, kill her mark and take the necklace and return to Jeddit and collect the reward. She knew she would cop some heat from Cesare if she ever saw him again, well hey she counted on it - he was an extremely good lay and she had left him the all the money after all, the way she figured it, he wouldn't be too mad with her.

Life in the village of Phaer went on through a normal routine for most of its citizens. People moved about conducting chores of laundry-hanging, tending gardens, and carrying firewood, same as any other community. In this community however, there were only two estates with manor houses of a size and grandeur that put them clearly above their neighbors. After some checking at windows and careful watching for activity, it would be obvious that the owner of one of those properties was not in residence, away on some long trip. That property was dark, quiet, and its hedges and window-boxes were not tended as neatly as they should have been.

At the other manor house, activity was winding down in the evening. A pair of maids left through the front door, gossiping about the ending of some local plague. They were followed a minute later by a steward who locked up the house behind him, then slipped the key into his pocket and made his way toward a hole-in-the-wall tavern for a nightcap. Light still shown from some of the windows of the manor, betraying their occupancy. Looking in on the first floor, one would see the a fire burning low in a hearth across the room, some kind of study. Between the window and the fireplace sat the lady Fairwen herself cast in reddish light, seated in a high-backed chair and gazing into the coals, a book resting open on her lap; she had not been sleeping well for some time and usually only retired to her room in the late hours. Her resemblance to Jedit was striking. They had the same shape of face, both of them tall and gold-skinned, though Jedit's hair was lighter and creases around Fairwen's eyes suggested an advanced age. The other light that shown was a lamp lighting the waiting bedroom upstairs.

When Cesare finally made it to Phaer, it was dark and he was tired. The scratch on his back was just starting to heal and he was no longer feeling the effects of the poison, but the long ride had worn him out.

He pays to saddle his horse and heads to a building that looks to be an Inn. He pays for a room and then heads straight for the bar. He orders a drink and just listens for a while. He hopes to just overhear something useful. Some information about the woman he intended to steal from, any rumors about a new Khajiit in town...any thing that will mean something to him and his mission. When nothing comes up, he decides to call it a night and head to his room for a few hours rest. He was sure the Kyora beat him to Phaer and it was possible she'd already finished the job. By this point, he didn't care. He was just tired of people poisoning him and getting away with it.

Sumar finds the manor houses, and searches for a dark room within the abandoned one, one where the window lines up with the woman’s bed chambers. He takes his time, waiting until dark falls, to easily climb the exterior. He opens one of the shutters a crack and slips in through the window. There he sets up to watch the bed chambers across the way, lit from within. He waits for the woman to call it a night.

He also angles himself so he may observe the comings and goings through the manor's doors, as best as possible.

During the next day Kyora strolled the Phaer streets, perusing the stalls and making purchases paid for by picking the locals pockets as she went. Taking strategic moments to casually case each of the residences, the guards, and paths in and out of the township. She found the two manors on one of her patrols, studying them she determined one was most likely vacant given its state of ill-repair. She was tempted to hole up in there for the remainder of her stay but remembering her time with Qa'iit the last time she slept in what seemed like an abandoned building, decided against it. She wondered about the second one, and it's owner. Time was of the essence she wanted to get in and finish the job before Cesare arrived, so she decided to enter both, take whatever and kill whoever got in her way and leave. This time she would just go for a clean kill and leave sex out of it for time's sake.

While Kyora slept in a tree, Sumar watched his target return to her bed chambers. He memorized the fall of her shadow against the candle light. He waited until she blew out the candle, became comfortable, and began to drift. The darkness was easier for his pale white eyes to see than the lit room; darkness kept no secrets from him.

The shade drew the shadows about him like a second cloak, and stepped through the darkness of the room he dwelled in, across the void and into the room the woman slept. The travel was without sound, though it carried with it a coldness on the air. Were any to have been able to observe him on the other side, those shadows clung to him, stretching out of place until eventually they peeled away from his form.

He paused long enough to watch her sleeping for a while. When he was certain her sleep was deep enough, he removed a small bottle from his things, unscrewed it and very carefully used the dropper within to brush the solution across the woman’s wrist. The substance was already body temperature, and thus unlikely to wake a sound sleeper.

The contact poison worked swiftly as a very potent muscle relaxer. The deepest sleep she ever experienced would be the one where her heart and lungs stopped. It was horrifically expensive to produce, but in months he had yet to have assassination requested of him. It was worth it to watch the old woman die in her sleep. Old women died in their sleep every day, just seldom with such a handsome gentleman watching over them while they did it.

If all worked according to plan, he would wait until she had passed on before searching for the named necklace. And he would be gone from the manor before anyone realized she would fail to wake on the next morning. Then he would remain around the town, waiting to see the other assassins arrive.

Cesare finally woke a few hours later and made his way through the town. During his stroll, he spoke to a few people about the manor homes, pretending to be interesting in buying one of them. He quickly found out which were abandoned and which would possibly be occupied by the woman he was searching for.

He sat across from two manors, one was clearly abandoned as it did not look well kept and the other was dark and quiet. He figured that if the woman was in there, she was clearly asleep or possibly dead already. He had no doubt in his mind that Kyora was either already in the house or close by. So he waited to see if he could spot her going in or coming out of the house.

Kyora found herself a hidden vantage point close to her target's mansion and settled in to wait quietly for nightfall. It was late afternoon when she noticed an older man make his way down the front path of Fairwen's residence. He unlocked the front door and entered. Kyora assumed him to be house-staff either very late or had been given the morning off.

Kyora sighed, it was boring sitting around like this, she regretted not partnering with Cesare at that moment at least they could have passed the time with fun things to do to each other. Kyora's bored expression changed swiftly at the sound of yelling coming from the mansion, shortly after the gentleman that had entered came out and began running down the path calling for the guards. Kyora's large green eyes narrowed, dark ovals shrank to tiny slits - Cesare could not have possibly beaten her. A low displeased growl sounded deep within her chest and a dark cloud of energy emanated around her...

From across the street, in his hiding place, Cesare also heard the scream. A smile formed on his face and he quickly searched the area for a sigh of the sassy dark Khajiit. He figured she was smart enough to get out of there before the body was discovered but she couldn't have gotten too far. He decided that she must have ran off toward the town, near the Inns, it was possible she had gotten a room there or found a nice spot for her to blend in and not look suspicious.

He took a back way toward the Inn he had a room at, careful to not raise any suspicion on himself. Once he was in the middle of town, he sat on a bench where he could easily see the main roads leading out of town. He was sure to spot Kyora from there. But he was also out in the open, so it was possible she would spot him first.

For Sumar, the night of the assassination passed far too slowly. He waited within the abandoned manor for any sign of the other two assassins. He waited until dawn began to color the sky, but before the sun actually crested. With a frown for no one but himself, he viewed that as his call to depart, unsatisfied. The others had yet to show themselves or to act.

He kept to alley ways and roof tops, leaving behind no physical trace that he had ever been there. Capably avoiding the yet-alerted city guard, he found his dark horse Evon and began to pick their way out of the city. He took a different way back, but still headed to the quest's origin.

Kyora made excellent progress her journey was swift and uneventful. During those long hours with only her thoughts as company she turned over how she was going to handle this situation. Cesare would not fall for the same trick twice, she would need to use a surprise this time, she had just the thing for the job - he wouldn't even see her coming. She didn't usually favour this type method, enjoying the more up close and personal method of dispatch, watching life their drain away as she reached release or hearing them beg for mercy if she chose to torture first. In Kyora's mind this method was for those weak of heart for the job. However, desperate times called for desperate measures, Kyora didn't fail - ever, so it was important that nothing went awry this time round.

Back in Rawl'kha, Jedit was enjoying herself. During the day she was out among the marketplace, pretending to browse the stalls and flirting with people. When night fell, she would return to the same table at the Waxing Crescent and drink sparingly, keeping an eye out for the arrival of her pair of assassins or some hint as to the origin of her bottle of white wine.

The Dunmer's alternate route would only increase his travel time by a few hours, allowing him to analyze any pursuit as it happened. Yet, as he kept a subtle eye upon his trail, he saw no one and took some comfort in that.

Eventually, his dark horse would plod into Rawl'kha from a back, lesser used trail. This time he would allow Evon to be stabled, with the full treatment of treats and care, as he had done a job well. From there, the assassin slipped out into the darkening streets as evening again fell. He headed toward the bar, always an eye toward the shadows to know if he was being watched or followed.

Kyora prowled the streets surrounding the Waxing Crescent, hovering around the entrance way. To her favour, there was only a front entrance and it was easily watched from several vantage points. She saw no sign of Cesare. However, she did notice a Dunmer, more that he stood out in a town full of Khajiit like a Goblin stood out in a beauty contest. Gears in Kyora's mind turned and clicked into place and her eyes widened at the thought... was he the mystery gifter of the bottle of wine? He was there in the booth as they talked! She eyed him carefully, there was a distinct wariness in the way he moved through the crowds, checking around him, cautious but not in an overt way. There was no way Cesare could have beaten her to her prize, it had to be him.

In a flash decision she lifted a long straight wooden pipe to her lips, inside was hollow and empty save for a poisonous dart already loaded. She aimed carefully at his neck, her target was difficult in that he moved and was armoured, and his neck area was covered with long black hair. Taking a deep breath she blew hard sending the poisonous dart toward the mystery Dunmer. She had one opportunity to hit her target and one only.

Poison Notes
The poison used had the potential to kill, although it is a common poison used among assassins and a resistance can be built against it. Depending on resistance, if the dart were to hit its target, they would suffer anything from mild dizziness and headaches, to passing out for a short period, as opposed to death.

The Dunmer’s right hand shot up to his neck. In the same second as he looked toward the direction it had come from, his hand came away with the dart. Another half-second and he glanced at the dart, and stumbled. His eyes rolled back, he swayed and tried to surge for the door only to collapse in heap at the stoop, landing on his right side partially facing her, not quite on his stomach. Swiftly the Dunmer is still, without evidence of breathing.

I am not THAT kind of Actor
Not only had Sumar experience with this poison, the effects would be minimal, but she did not need to know that. He entirely fakes his own death with extreme skill, and waits to see what one might do with his corpse.

He is also left-handed, and having fallen upon his right side, draws a long thin dagger from within the drape of his long dark cloak. Hidden from view, he is quite ready to return the favor to his assailant. This blade is also poisoned should it find use. A poison which slows the body's ability to clot.

Cesare finally made it to the Waxing Crescent. He had a story made up to tell Jedit. He would say that he and Kyora split up on the way back, to look less suspicious and that Kyora had the necklace while he kept hold of the coin. Then hopefully Kyora would just go along with it, instead of causing a scene, and then he could speak to he later, privately.

He walked through the doors and instantly saw Kyora, with her back turned toward him. He slipped around her quietly and off to a dark corner, to observe. He looked around and did not see Jedit in the room yet. But what he did see was the Dunmer that he had met at the Clan Mothers House when he first arrived to S'ren-ja and talked to Sylvaswift. He saw the Dunmer stand up and attempt to walk to the door and then collapse on his side. Cesare wondered what in the hell he just walked in on.

Kyora paused waiting patiently to watch the results, she saw the Dunmer fall, she could not tell at that distance if he was dead for sure. She hesitated to rush in blindly. The place was more public than she liked, and carried with it more risk, she still saw no sign of Cesare. Victory was close - or so she believed.

Sumar was very good at being dead. He moved not a muscle and he controlled his breathing to be next to non-existent. There he waited, all of his other senses outstretched.

Cesare waited, he wasn't sure if the Dunmer was just unconscious or dead. He wondered what had caused him to fall. He looked around the room and saw that only a few people noticed the fallen mer. He figured it was pretty common around here, someone getting drunk and falling down, which is probably what people thought had happened. But Cesare wasn't sure. Kyora was staring at the Dunmer, very concentrated on him. He wondered if she was the cause for this. He wasn't quite ready to reveal himself. If she had hurt the Dunmer, he wasn't planning on being next.

When the Dunmer male didnt move and no one approached him Kyora casually moved closer to him, playing the part of a concerned bystander, feigning concern for his well-being. She kneeled beside him, behind him, and at his head, feeling his forehead with one hand, while checking for a pulse with the other at his neck, which she did not find. She looked upon him noting that he wasn't unattractive as she would have expected... silently mourning the lost opportunity to have bedded him first.

Swiftly she moved to frisk his pockets and person seeking the tell-tale bump of necklace before she was joined by another.

When she deemed it safe to approach, he was forced to trust her judgment that the street was safe and empty of observers. He had to hope she was a careful enough assassin for that much.

He waited until she knelt and reached to touch him, where she would be ever so slightly off balance. He did not allow her to touch his neck before he moved. Sumar rolled away from her nearly onto his back at the same moment he brought that long thin blade up and tried to sink its point into her less protected throat.

Should it cut through skin and draw blood, the poison would inhibit clotting, making even a trivial cut count.

Kyora gasped and flinched away enough that the blade did not sink all the way in, she rolled out of the way and put a hand to her neck to feel that sticky warmth that was her blood. She hissed loudly at the Dunmer as she reached for her blades. The cut began to burn quite furiously, alerting her to the possible use of poisons, her anger flared and a tangible black aura of energy emanated from her being. She was not one from running and stood her ground defying the dark mer venomously - daring him to act.

The Dunmer kipped up, and in mid-action he also called to the shadows about him. For him, leaping from one shadow into the next was as natural as breathing air. For a moment it seemed he disappeared in a whirl of darkness.

A full breath later and the shadows released him across the alley, crouched upon a nearby roof in the darkness cast by a nearby eave. The Dunmer had no need to stand toe to toe with her, nor desire. He sought to conceal himself from view, but he did not believe this was finished. He sheathed the smaller blade in favor of drawing his twin swords, their surfaces treated black to avoid revealing his position with an unfortunate reflection.

Kyora growled low as the mer vanished before her eyes - no matter two could play at this game; Kyora drew on the magic force around her to cloak herself and retreated to into a safe place in which to uncloak and find the mer. The necklace forgotten, blood-lust foremost on her mind.

Sumar crouched in the darkness of the rooftop, cunning enough to avoid casting a silhouette against the night's sky. He slowly drew his dark cloak about him in better arrangement to seamlessly blend in with the textures around him.

He froze all other action, focusing his own senses outward to keep from being caught surprised again. The mild throb behind his temples enough reminder of the poison she had used. He well knew that poison could kill the untrained.

For him now it was a waiting game. He had drawn blood, but he did not know how long it might take for the blood loss to slow her.

Kyora was too focused on her prey to pay any attention to the cut in her neck, other than the burning sensation that increased with her movement as her body drew it inwards - making the likelihood of clotting unlikely; she would bleed to death if she didn't arrest the bleeding soon. The dark stain down the front of her armor told the story she had already lost a bit. Kyora could heal herself, but she needed blood of another to do it.

Sumar called upon an old trick of his, one so few new him capable of. He threw his voice, using the walls of the buildings beside him to make his words travel without giving away their point of origin. “A love-nip for a bite, beautiful.”

He then watched and listened with extreme focus to see if his words revealed her position.

Kyora grinned malevolently as she almost slithered toward the direction she had heard his taunt. She was uncloaked, conserving her power for the moment, but she clung to shadows keeping as hidden as possible always. Her senses reached out, feeling for the bastard, seeking him out, she almost drooled she wanted this kill so badly.

Sumar's unnaturally pale white eyes had no trouble at all piercing the shadows. In truth, he was far more impaired in light. This, for him, was child's play. While other children had used their imaginations to make toys come to life, Sumar had cut his teeth on shadow games.

There. She had moved, enabling him to pinpoint her. The dark stream staining the front of her tunic was not lost on him. "Our time together could have been fantastic," he threw his voice again, misleadingly. "You should work for me, love." In this he lied, for he had no intentions at all for her to go on living beyond this altercation. He was buying just a little more time for her to move into position, and to lose yet more blood.

Cesare continued to stay in the shadows as he watched the altercation before him. He was careful not to make a sound. He was interested in seeing who would win this fight. For a moment he was tempted to help Kyora and probably would have if she had not just poisoned him. He wasn't sure if she meant to kill or not. She could no longer be trusted. Plus, he had nothing against the Dunmer, for he had not done a thing to Cesare, for all he knew. He did secretly hope that Kyora would find a way out of this mess, alive. But Cesare would not interfere.

Kyora's eyes and senses cranked into overdrive as she neared the location she had heard the voice, she saw and sensed nothing, even as the voice came again, this time a little different place. She recognised the game immediately and disappeared once again under a cloaking spell. She was much weaker now, and the spell wavered, she needed to heal and boost her magical energy if she was to survive this. Her eyes scanned for a new target, a victim and the provider of blood needed for her to heal and regenerate. She found him, a drunk passed out under a tree in a deserted corner of the marketplace - perfect. With her last remaining power she tele-ported to his location, right beside him.

When she disappeared, Sumar withdrew. There were too many unknowns here, and none of them were worth getting himself killed over. The Dunmer assassin slipped into the veil and made the leap through the shadows back to the stables where he had left Evon, leaving little to no sign he had even been present near the Inn.

Crouched in the darkness of a cramped hay loft, he carefully preserved the blood he had drawn of hers upon his blade. It was corrupted by the poison, but that was a complication he was well used to dealing with. There he considered his options with patience and a lingering headache. At the stables he had many exits. He could also easily overhear if someone began to ask about a traveling Dunmer.

Kyora silently sliced the throat of the sleeping drunk, drawing his life essence into her being; clotting wounds and healing radically, before withdrawing once again under her magic-fashioned veil of invisibility. She moved then to a quiet spot, to regenerate further, taking the time to consider options. Her blood-lust momentarily satisfied slightly by her recent kill allowed her thoughts simmer to a level more befitting her skill and training.

It was even vaguely tempting to her thought to walk away. No, Kyora did not lose. Leaving would mean she would lose twice, something that was just not in her to swallow. She would kill the wretched Dunmer, slowly and painfully, and pay him back thrice for the trouble he had caused her - the necklace and reward would be hers before the end of the day or she would die trying.

Eventually, Sumar rose up and left his loft. He paid the stable master's young son quite well, and sent him on a mission. The boy was to give the barkeep enough coin to purchase a bottle of white wine. He was to hang the amulet about the neck The barkeep was to then leave it for a woman matching Kyora's description.

Then the Dunmer took his black horse, and left the city with little intention of ever returning.

Kyora spent some time scanning the streets of Rawl'kha for the Dunmer and as dark drew closer she grew bored and returned to the inn angry and frustrated. She went to the bar to buy herself some drink and food, when the barkeeper gave to her a bottle of wine with the necklace around it. This gesture puzzled Kyora, but it was short-lived, shrugging she took the prize gladly and set off to find Jeddit.

Cesare followed Kyora into the Inn and casually walked up to after seeing her receive a bottle of wine. He leaned up against the bar and gave her a huge grin.

"I was hoping you'd show up here eventually. You're not too angry with me, I hope? I apologize for drinking so much that night and being so hung over that I couldn't accompany you on the trip to the job that was given to us. I imagine you finished it and collected the payment already? Is that what the wine is for, celebrating a job well done? Well you deserve it."

Cesare reached into his pocket and pulled out the heavy coin purse and set it on the bar. "Forgive me for not remembering to give this to you before. Like I said, I was clearly drunk." He pushed the coin purse toward her and then gently rubbed her arm with his hand, if she allowed it. "Maybe I can make up for it."

Jedit returned to her table in the common room of the inn, having no knowledge of what had occurred outside not long before. Her gaze swept over the room and she spotted Cesare and Kyora. They appeared to be flirting with each other and in good spirits, so she took that as a positive sign for a job well-done. She smiled at the pair and waved them over, acting almost as if they were close friends of hers.

When they approached, she continued to play up the familiarity. "My friends! Come and have a seat. It's been so long since I saw you last."

Cesare smiled, about to continue his act more until he heard the familiar voice of Jedit calling them over. His grin then turned to a serious stare as he leaned in close to Kyora and gripped the bottle of wine that held the necklace around it. Then he whispered to her in a tone so low that only she could hear. "Next time you poison me, make sure it kills me." As he pulled away, he gave her look that could kill, and would have if he had the magic ability to do so. Still gripping the wine, he walked over to where Jedit sit and looked back at Kyora, who was still holding the coin purse, and gave her a confident smile.

Cesare smiled as he watched Kyora leave, she was still nice to watch, swinging her hips as she went out the door. He slowly made his way to Jedit and sat at the table she was at. He placed the bottle of wine with the necklace around it on the table, in front of her. He almost couldn't believe it. He had finished the job that he never even got to start. He had been tricked, poisoned, and then beaten to the job by not just one, but two other people. Then sat back and watched them fight over the prize, almost to their deaths. And now here he was, delivering the goods.

"Your necklace, sweet thing." he said proudly, gesturing to the bottle of wine and necklace. "If you ever have need for anything else, professional or unprofessional, don't hesitate to search me out."

Jedit was a little confused to see Kyora leave without trying to claim a reward, but decided that wasn't her concern. She turned her attention to Cesare and smiled flirtatiously. She touched the necklace lightly with her fingertips. "Such a lovely souvenir you've brought me! Thank you, handsome. I'll make sure to put it in a safe place." She lifted the jewelry from the bottle and placed it into a small pouch on her belt and fastened it shut.

Then she smiled back at Cesare. "Now it's time for your gift. I rented the first room on the right upstairs. You'll find a heavy leather purse wedged behind the rafters on the west wall."

She placed one hand around the base of the bottle and then suggestively ran her fingers up and down the neck of the bottle with her other hand. She gazed across at him over the cork. "I can walk out now and leave you to your reward, or you can collect it in the morning. Scoundrel's choice."

Jedit smiled and rose from the chair, leading Cesare up to her room where she remained until some time midmorning the next day. Her performance was passionate if a little unimaginative.

The next day, if Cesare were still around, she would have no interest in talking with him or being around him. She would make preparations to return to Woodhearth by the most direct routes, keeping the necklace hidden away as a keepsake for the next few years.

Cesare had a good time with Jedit, she was a nice little surprise gift for a job well done. When he rose in the morning, he watched her dress and go on her way. They barely spoke a word to each other. He took his time getting read, the room was already paid for. Then he grabbed the heavy leather purse where she told him it would be. He was quite pleased. It more than made up for the trouble Kyora had caused him and the headache of the entire job. He grabbed his things and made his way back to his own room to relax and plan out what he would do if he ever saw Kyora again.
