It was an unusually cool evening in the desert surrounding Sren-Ja when Shere'Khaann returned by way of Wayshrine. As he began to walk towards town he caught glimpse of a familiar though he could not remember names. After a brief intorduction he and Bethany of Kirkwall made their way to town.

As they entered the small desert "oasis" they were encountered by a talk sturdy looking Khajiit. As Shere'Khaann was about to make hsi way towards the clan mother's house he was "invited" to attend a meeting of sorts by the Khajiit who called him Kath McKaar. The Three traveled a long way to a fort Shere'khaann was sure he had never seen before. It was here he was told of the groups plans.

The group seemed to have some quarrel with Qa'iit. The Khajiit Shere'Khaann happened to know as his boss. Kath shared with Shere'Khaann their dislike of Qa'iits leadership and unwillingness to accept those of tainted blood into his fold. Shere'Khaan must admit he was rather nervous during his short stent at the vile manse. He knew not what to say. So he does what any scoundrel that was put into his position does... he lied.

He lied and told the group he must consider the proposal. That he would speak nothing of this meeting to Qa'iit and his followers. Shere'Khaann was able to escape that night with his heart still beating and that's what mattered to him. As he made his way into the wilderness he steeled himself for the long trek back to Sren-Ja. Where he would find his allies, and inform Qa'iit of what he had learned as soon as possible.

Shere'Khaann awoke during the afternoon following a night of considerable eventfulness. Shere helped Do'Zhar and a few others save a werewolf and Ma'Zura from a Khajiit hunter named Shazare... then he helped subdue the werewolf after it had apparently attacked a group in Sren-Ja while Shere was away. When Qa'iit arrived Shere'Khaann attempted to report what he had learned at the Vile Manse but was ignored entirely. Qa'iit seemed to have something on his mind and now at least was a poor time to file this report.

"Oh Well" Shere thought to himself "Perhaps later this one will inform Do'Zhar"

He remained in the square for awhile speaking with Swiftclaw. It was then that Bbigeargo arrived and had some rather harsh words for Shazare. Shere tried to calm the two but, understandably, Bbigeargo was rather upset. Shortly afterwards Shere joined Swiftclaw on a walk around the Clan Mother's House. They talked for awhile but tiredness eventually overcame Shere and he left to find a tree to rest in.

Upon waking up Khaann made his way to the Clan mothers house where he found Lucrezia, Milo, and Ma'zura. He joined them for a fried fish lunch and caught up on the past evenings events. During which he learned Kath was in control of the one elf Shere hated more then all others... Tilano the Red. Shere had helped kill this wretched deadra possed Elf on more then one occasion and his connection to Kath Mckaar only assured Shere he had made the right decision in not sideing with the armored khajiit.

What truly shocked Shere'Khaann was when he was informed Qa'iit was no longer head of the guard. This is a curve ball that Shere'khaann truly did not see coming.

"Who will take his place then" Shere'Khaann asked

"Whomever wins the contest" Ma'Zura replied

"There is going to be a fight and whoever wins is the next Qa'iit" Lucrezia Nightblade added

Khaann rubbed his paws together with a smile. He did enjoy fighting. Win or lose it was a thrill to him. The striped khajiit would enter this fight. He had no desire to be Captain of the guard, but a fight still sounded like fun to him.

Shere'Khaann took a deep breath of the dry air as he stood alone on a rocky outcropping overlooking Sren-Ja. He stood with one leg forward and bet on his knee he rested an elbow. While his other leg stretched backwards, his other hand resting firmly on his sword hilt. The khajiit lowered his ears as he heard a faint sound behind him. Before the stripped khajiit could react he felt a searing pain rip through his shoulder.

A loud screech/howl escaped the him as Shere'Khaann looked down to see the tip of a Thalmor arrow protruding from his right shoulder. Blood began to run down his back and front as Shere turned to face the shooter. But it was not just one. No 5 Thalmor agents had quietly made their way close enough to pose a very serious threat for the large cat-man.

"Thalmor!" Shere'khaann hollered but to no avail... there were no allies with in ear shot. No, this battle was for him alone to fight.

"Stand down beast!" Shouted one of the Agents "We will make your death quick if you do"

Shere'Khaann only grinned and raised his shield with his good arm. He rushed forward quicker then any of the agents thought possible. Raising his shield he smashed into the one who had just spoken knocking him to the ground. With a quick lunge forward Shere'Khaann severed the elves head using his shield. He quickly rose and turned to face the remaining four agents a wide grin still across his face as he kicked the head of his first victim at his second, a female agent who let out a scream as the head came at her. Shere'khaann used this opportunity to rush forward again, bashing the woman's face with his shield. Blood began to rush from her nose and mouth and as she fell Shere gave one quick kick with his boot to finish her off.

As his boot rose from the second victim Shere felt that searing pain from earlier go through his abdomen. He let out a roar again and turned, falling to one knee, shield still raised. Blood began to drip down on the ground from his second wound as he looked up and to the sides he saw two of the remaining 3 agents approaching him swords raised. The third had her bow trained on Khaann. His breathing was heavy and he knew the fight was over.

Shere'khaann mustered all his strength and rose.

"End him. This pathetic beast has no fight left." Said on the agents.

FWIP! A third arrow was loosed and struck the khajiit in the leg. Brining him back down to his knees. To the laughter of the thalmor. One of the agents moved towards Shere'Khaann and to the approval of his comrades struck the khajiit in the back of the head. Knocking him to the ground. Shere lay there, motionless, bleeding out.

"Let's go... let the desert finish this whelp" Said the thalmor with the bow.

^o_o^ NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Well...that explains why he wasn't in the big fight. *thwap* >_< Ow...what was that for?

^<_<^ For being completely insensitive. Shere is someone this one trusts. He cannot die. This one will not let him.

*rubs the back of his head* You know, this is why you were going to be removed from your assignment at one point. You are way too attached to some of these folks.

*crosses her arms and turns away* Hmph...

It was almost dark out when Shere'Khaann walked away from Sren-Ja. He looked back quickly, hoping it would not be the last time he saw this place. But the striped khajiit was determined to cut his past off and there a few loose ends he needed to tie up first.

Shere'Khaann traveled through the night reach Auridon. As he reached the island he grinned and made his way towards Vulkhel Guard. Where he had heard recently his "friends" had set up their operation. He would kill those who had so carelessly placed a price on the khajiit's head.

"This one has traveled far and is tired" he said to himself searching for a comfortable tree to rest in.

After a quick "cat nap" (pun intended :P) Khaann woke with a stretch. He jumped from the tree and made his way quietly into town. He was after three individuals.

First up was Za'Taba.

Shere'khaann had met the black evil eyed Khajiit many years before. She and the striped khajiit had relations years before and khann thought they were very close. But when the Thalmor came for Shere'Khaann Za'Taba pointed her fingers, sent Shere to jail, and joined with his enemies in placing a price upon his head. Khaann stayed well informed while in jail and had placed his former "lovers" name on the top of his hit list.

Next was Do'Mojar

Do'Mojar was Shere's second. His right hand. Khaann would often refer to Do'Mojar as his closest friend. They had grown up on khenaarthi's Roost together and was the only one Shere remained in contact with after nearly losing his life there. Apparently Do'Mojar did not feel the same though because it was Do'Mojar who filled Za'Taba's mind with ill will for the tiger khajiit. Under the influence of his new boss Do'Mojar turned Za'Taba against Khaann and aided the Thalmor the night of the arrest. It was Do'Mojar who drove a dagger into Khaanns side.. narrowly missing any organs of importance and not so narowly missing his chance to end Shere'Khaann that night.

And lastly on his list of three... Ri'Zakar

Ri'Zakar was a contact Shere made with in days of Arriving in Auirdon. Together they controled much of the large island and split profits as such. It was no secret the plans that Ri'Zakar had carried out Khaann himself had intended to perform as well... only Khaann would have been successfull. Regardless it was Ri'Zakar who struck first and failed in finishing the striped Khajiit. So here we were now. Several years later and Shere'Khaann returned to tie up those loose ends.

Two nights after arriving in Auridon Shere'Khaann slipped out as the sounds of screaming were heard from the Vulkhel guard Courtyard. The screams belonged to a Bosmer woman who had just stumbled upon the corpses of three dead khajiit. Each had their tails removed and were hung upside down from a tree limb. The throats of each was cut and the clothes hd been removed. In a truly horrendous act of revenge Shere'Khaann had forced, a now broken, bottle of skooma into the rear of each of his victims.

Shere'Khaann rode out of vulkhel guard feeling different. Not exactly better.. but the khajiit felt different. It was a good feeling.

OOC
This is the IC explanation of Khaann's absence.

It had been long since the stripped khajiit had been home. One week was it? Two? He was beginning to lose track of how many days between each excursion. But... there were many names that Shere'Khaann had added to his list. Many names indeed. One by one Shere had begun visiting the individuals to which the names belonged. And one by one they disappeared.

Shere began to notice that each person he targeted was increasingly paranoid, and with good reason. All of their associates had begun disappearing. It was only a matter of time before they caught on to the trend and hired more guards. In any case it did little good. Shere was growing hungrier and the more bodies he left behind him, it seemed, the more determined he became.

Until, that is, he returned to Hazaks Hollow. The origin of his dark history in the skooma trade. Despite all the years since he had been there the Crosstree's were still the current inhabitants. Shere'khaann could not believe it when he learned. But as he approached it became eveident they were expecting company. The number of thugs paid to guard this skooma den was far greater then any Shere had come fore prior to this. He quiclky dispatched two guards and snuck closer.

It wasn't long before Shere could tell he was in over his head. He frowned and listened to the next few guards standing in a group, hideing behind a rock as he did so.

"Who is this khajiit that comes for him?" asked the first guard, clearly refering to Khaann's target, Do'Mareep.

"This one does not know, there have been reports he wears red armor... The bosses are looking into it, but untill then keep ones eyes open yes?" replied the second guard

The third guard answered with a low growl and a bang of his sword upon his shield. "This one will put 50 coins down saying he is the first to run the puny little kitten through!" he says with a confident smile.

It was stupid but Shere'Khaann could not resist. He launched himself from atop the rock down into the group of three, wasting no time in running his sword quickly and cleanly across the third guards throat... silencing him immediately. The other two guards quickly raised their weapons but for one it was to late, Shere had lunged forward and drove his sword through his gut. With wide eyes the Khajiit dropped his weapons and fell to his knees. As Shere removed his sword he approached the third and did something most unprofessinal. He removed his helm.

"Remember this face whelp" he snarled at the now terrified looking guard. "Tell your friends these cross tree bosses do not have enough gold to pay for an army large enough to stop this one!" and with that he placed his helm back on and slammed his shield into the remaining guards face, knocking him out cold.

He turned now , unaware he had caused such a commotion, to see another group of guards clamoring to get to him. He grinned and made a run for it. The stripped khajiit may have been strong and fierce but he did not make it this far on those traits alone. No sometimes the brain was required for certain times, this being one of them. It didn't take much for him to lose his pursuers. But as he slowed his pace and headed for Reaper's March it hit him... he had just revealed his face.

"Shit" he said aloud to himself as he walked. Clearly his smarts fell second to his fierce anger more often then not.
