"Education is the precursor to progress. Progress is the precursor to wealth. Wealth is the precursor to power. I am the most educated, so I have all the power."
Name: Crucitar
Age: (Indefinite)
Race: Altmer (secretly half Orsimer)
Flair: A burn on his left cheek is the only apparent notable feature. But he has hidden horns beneath his hood, and Orc jaw fangs in his lips. His chest and back are burned in several places, with a large brand of the Tribunal symbol in the center of his chest.
Rumors:
-Known for using rare spells, and being one of the few underworld mages (a formidable one at that).
-Has a professional demeanor, and is almost always respectful to his associates.
-Quiet and reserved, no known friends or family.
Background:
Born to an Altmer adventurer and an Orc chief, the man known as Crucitar was named Krux gro-Malok. However, his father's lifespan forced his mother to return to Summerset to raise him after his quick passing. She fell in with a scholar who was enamored with her stories of exploring the mainland. Unfortunately she became senile in her later years, scorning her new husband for the old. As a consequence he bullied Krux into hating his Orc heritage. He took the name Crucitar, Ayleid for "one of pain". Luckily, he was extremely talented with magic from a young age. Like many aspiring mages of his day, he journeyed to the Isle of Artaeum to study with the Psijic Order. He immersed himself in the study of all manner of spellcraft.
Midway through his life, Crucitar lived through the Dragon Break of he 1st Era, making age a pointless endeavor to estimate. However, as the Second Era began he was caught up in the swirl of passion surrounding Vanus Galerion and Mannimarco, the two greatest students of the Isle. Before the Isle disappeared from the material plane, he left to the mainland for the first time in several millennia. Having lived a sheltered and focused life prior, he was shocked by the world around him, and retreated into himself.
Crucitar bounced from organization to organization, searching for a purpose. Recently, he was visiting Khenarthi's Roost when Pact forces raided it. During an attempt to save civilians, he was captured and taken to Morrowind, where he was tortured endlessly. Permanently scarred, inside and out, he escaped back to Dominion lands a changed man, lacking much of the naivete of his previous years. He retreated into the underworld, doing odd jobs for various fortunes for quick gold. His motives are unclear, but wealth is never the ambition of the intelligent.
