Clan Tournament

Around the trunk of the large tree in the center of S'ren-ja parchments are hung, some flapping in the warm dry breeze.

"Are you the strongest? Perhaps your wits can win out against the brute strength of even the toughest of fighters? Kazzah invites you to test your skills in a friendly competition this Morndas. The champion will be named the new Guard Captain of S'ren-ja or if they wish may appoint one of their choosing who would be suitable for the position. Among the other prizes given will be a commissioned drawing of the winner by Charcoal Fingers. Meet here on Morndas to sign up."

At the bottom of each parchment are hastily drawn sketches of a brawler fighting a mage with a pointy hat.

Monday August 11th there will be a role play fighting tournament. Among the prizes I will pay to have a Chibi drawing done of the winner by Calomel. You can see examples of them here

There will be an additional gold prize for the winner and second place and possibly other prizes depending on what is donated. Perhaps you want to donate a little coin to up the prize for the winners? You can mail it to @IttyBittyYeti with a description of what it is for. Every little bit adds up and makes the prize better if you happen to win!

How It Works

This event is a Role Play event meaning it doesn't matter if you are lvl 3 or Vet 12, everyone has the same chances of winning.

Each fight will be best 2 out of 3 rounds. I will be rolling a D20 for each fighter and the higher number wins that round. After I roll I will whisper the winner telling them they won the round then they will play out whatever they did in character to win that round. All the winners will fight again this way until there is one final winner. If you try to cheat and play that you won the round even though you didn't you will be disqualified and your competitor will move to the next round.

If you are interested in signing up you may do that here or on the day of the event I will be signing up in town before it begins. After sign ups I will explain the rules again for those that signed up at the event but did not read this. Please include the name of the character you are using in the event.

Fond as I am of the Khajiit, I'm not sure if the clan would accept a relative newcomer and former Imperial officer as its Guard Captain. But if you think there is a chance, I would be honored to enter the tournament.

To answer an early question RP will start about the same time as normal 10pm EST. It is not to late to enter. At some point I may cut off sign ups just so it doesn't take 5 hours to finish. I don't want people to have to bow out half way through and I will also have to work later that night.

Sylvaswift will be there, he has named his champion whether or not he will participate in the contest is yet to be determined.

This one is up to the task.

Strifebringer will be there...after all...someone with REAL muscle has to. *takes a deep draught of beer, foam and foul-smelling liquid escape the sides of his mouth and pour down his chin* Should be fun!

If you need assistance running Kazzah, I could help. Then we could have simultaneous matches and get fights going twice as quickly.

Mo'jahi can also help if you tell him what to do. He is not planning to fight himself.

I dont think I will need help at the moment but If I do then I will let you know. I might ask for a few volunteers to do some pyrotechnics though. Thanks for the offer guys :)

How does one signs up?

Congratulations to the winner and our new Guard Captain Bethany Hawke of Kirkwell who wasnt going to compete but changed her mind and threw her helm into the ring! She showed her talents with magic early and often throwing deadly spells and decimating her opponents. Strifebringer was a tough opponent to go up against in the final round, having easily and almost effortlessly beating his challengers with brute strength. Will Bethany keep the title of Guard Captain or does she have someone in mind to name? Time will only tell!

I hope everyone had fun and made some coin betting on the side.

I suggest you all buy Bethany a round as to stay on her good side and not get thrown in jail.

OOC: I'm new to this guild, (just started today) but I thought this was a FANTASTIC event. It was pretty much what I was dreaming for with being to hang out with other roleplayers. I got to watch a lot of brawls, drink ale with an orc, and hit it up with a few ladies and others. :) Great event. Congratulations to those in charge. It was Fantastic!.

Fantastic job, Kazzah. I wish I could have made it. Stupid production meeting. By all accounts it was really fun. Can't ask for more. :)

That was a fantastic event, one of the best I've seen so far. :) As for Hawke, she is still getting used to the new rank of a Guard-Captain, but she had already made plans to further the protection of the town. It won't be the last you heard of Lady Hawke, Guard-Captain of S'ren-Ja. :D

also, sorry I coudln't stay for the whole thing I'm a morning person and these late night events kidna kick my ass the next day :P It was totally worth it though!!!

Strifebringer would give you a celebratory beer dunking, but was discouraged from doing so by John. Apparently skunky beer is not the best thing to pour over someone's head when telling them they did a great job.

If you ask this one, Strifebringer (had to stop from saying "Strifeburger") needs some serious lessons in etiquette...and the occasional bath. ^>_>^

Did anyone get some good pictures of the fights? It completely slipped my mind.

~ Morndas, The 11th of Last Seed, 2E582 ~

It was an interesting journey as I made a midday trek through Reapers March headed towards S'ren-ja. It probably would have looked comical seeing an incredibly short Wood-elf being chased by an "almost-bigger-than-I-was" Wisp, my arms flailing through the air as I ran, then stumbling upon a pack of skeevers almost to have my foot chewed off. Thankfully I escaped into a cave... unfortunately I was ambushed inside by the not too friendly breed of smugglers. But after taking an arrow to the knee and speeding back out of there I finally made it to S'ren-ja!

Walking through the settlement I could see a crowd gathering back around the side of one of its several khajiiti style buildings. A clan tournament was being held to determine the new Guard Captain of S'ren-ja, a title I have heard to be of great importance. Contestants took turn sparring with one another in duels of wit and strength, using everything from magical enchantments, enormous long-swords, bare fists, and even a clout over the head with an ale mug!

A great crowd had gathered to support the brawls, some playing drums to stoke the fights, others merely watching on in amazement. Moving about the crowd, there were many interesting characters. A burly Khajiit who didn't say much, but watched the tournament through a window from within the barn. One calling herself Magik Darkchilde leaned back, watching from a distance. When asked what she thought of them she merely scoffed at the pathetic futility of the mortals. Two beautiful elven women stood round the outskirts of the crowd gossiping between themselves about men. Great was my surprise when I found that one of them was none other than Trinket Graylock, "The Jewel of Skywatch" herself!

Of course no one at the tournament could forget the one presence that stood out above all, Strifebringer. Strifebringer could be seen striding proudly around the crowd, rousing support, drinking his fill, and hitting on the ladies. He even shared an ale with me at one point! Strifebringer was a formidable foe in the tournament and gave a great spectacle to all who were there. The true title of Champion and Guard Captain though resides with Bethany Hawke of Kirkwell, who after a little hesitance leaped in and showed up all her opponents!

The event was a grand success. It was an afternoon full of fun and spectacle. I say that every single person who came to support the tournament and share in the fun with each other were champions. You are the ones who made it what it was. All hail the Champions!

P.S: the use of dice in a fight is a brilliant idea, so as the offering the players to RP around the roll result. We should keep the concept for later.
