Teamspeak

So I downloaded teamspeak the other night.. when I did it installed SEVERAL other programs onto my computer... a couple games and a virus protction called AVAST and some PC back up thing as well as some program called optimizer pro taht despite my best efforts I cannot get off of my PC...

Is this normal?

That's weird. It only installed Team Speak and something else on my computer but I was able to get the other program uninstalled. Sorry it's giving you trouble :(

I suppose this things happens with most free programs you get when you choose the "express installation" or such related option.
Most free programs, when I download them, I try to remember to always check the "personalized installation" option, where I can choose not to download any other annoying program they might try to slip with the one I am actually trying to get!


Sorry! But I think you are gonna have to manually delete and uninstall all these programs...
The thing is, some of these programs they keep appearing as they are configured to be in your backup and stuff.
If after you delete and uninstall them, they keep coming back, send me a message and I will send you a troubleshoot I learned that has been very useful!

Is it a Mac or a Pc?

Well.. I'm a Mac user, but some PC things I know. Did you try going into %Appdata% and looking for its file and removing it? (Via your search bar, (not Internet explorer)

It's a PC... I ctrl-alt-deleted and brought up task manager and even through that could not close the program so I could delete it.. that's what has me nervous

Did you uninstall the files in the control panel option thing?

If you do that and it doesn't work I will send you a troubleshoot, but I am not a professional at this, so I do not recommend you try it unless you pay really close attention to what you are doing!
It can mess your computer up and stuff if you do it wrong! (I think)

Then I will not tyr it lol! I am not really that good w/ the "inner workings" of PCs LOL

Yea it wouldn't let me cuz it was running somewhere on the PC but when I went to Task Manager to end the program it wouldn't close out of it all the way

As long as you download from http://www.teamspeak.com/?page=downloads, you will not have an malicious software. I would not trust any other place.

If that is where you downloaded it from, I wouldn't worry. Probably a false positive by the antivirus software.

Window Defender is the only antivirus you should ever need to run. It's maintained by Microsoft and it's free. Everything else just causes headache.

when I downloaded Teamspeak I got AVG, it was my fault - you ahve to check very carefully what is ticked for the download. It is extremely hard to get rid off, but I eventually found out how to delete it entirely from my computer. If you have any problems still, let me know and I will try and post the steps for getting rid of it for you.

Your right... I just didnt pay attention at all and just kept clicking "yes" or "accept" to what ever popped up *facepalm* rookie mistake yo... hahaha

Here's a step plan:

Step1: Get a crowbar

Step2: Grab your computer monitor

Step3: Break the monitor open and grab your hard drive

Step4: Take the hard drive and fry it like an egg

Step5: Take a bite out of the thing and scream "TEAMSPEAK" at it for 11.16616161817161782262628 minutes

Final step: Put your hard drive back and slap Bhidul

I was unaware that my monitor housed my hard drive ^_- Could have sword it was the tower :P
