It is raining.
Yihn pads along the dirt paths, mud coating her new boots.
Thunder crashes, illuminating the S'ren-ja Friend House looming tall before her. Fat rain drops splash against the black Khajiit's forehead, forcing her to squint, then blink her eyes. She presses a hand to her abdomen, walking up the few steps with a labored gait.
Below cover, Yihn collapses against a pile of sacks, clutching her abdomen. She trembles, then looks at her palm once more. There is no blood, no wound. But spears of pain wrack her frame. Her pupils dilate. Curling up, she trembles.
Lightning flashes, illuminating her green eyes for a brief moment. Yihn lets out a long breath, then stands again. Up the steps she goes, slow, silent, finally entering the main hall of the Friend House, drenched.
In the corner rests her sleeping mat, a thin leather roll tied with twine. Stacked next to it is her set of brushes, brought to her in friendship, many weeks ago. Yihn walks toward them now. Gingerly, she unrolls the sleeping mat, then lies down with a groan, not bothering to peel off her leather armor, now plastered to her fur with the wet of rain.
Yihn stares up at the ceiling, the wooden beams half wet in the downpour. Her ears twitch slightly, flicking droplets of water onto the floor. She runs a rough tongue along her upper lip.
"Why does she stay?"
Her hand rests on her hip, fingers slowly wrapping around the hanging dagger hilt.
"She walks quiet, finds things. She is not strong."
Tshiing. The dagger leaves the sheath, glinting in the half-light. Yihn runs a finger along the blade, drawing a sliver of blood.
"She has walked too far." The dagger returns to its sheath.
Yihn turns, curling up as another barrage of pain wells up in her gut.
Outside, it rains.

((OOC: I started this originally in the forum storylines. But then I realized people may wish to come into the Friend House, and participate. There is no obligation, and if no one takes it up, I'll just continue posting as if it were an individual thread.))
