The Dark Brotherhood attacks Sren'ja

<A paper clearly torn from an old journal is tacked to the Thinking Tree in the center of town, and flutters in the wind. Almost illegible, the words written on it were scribbled out by a mind moving too quickly for the writing hand. It reads:>





As I am not an official guard, I do not have real authority to write a report for our Captain. However, I feel it necessary to relay recent events to those who may have missed them, for I was a witness to this series of misfortunes that is now unfolding. I hope the guards and the Captain are not offended by this Citizen's report. I only seek to help and warn against a coming danger.

A few nights ago, Elros Delodil, a member of the Sren'ja guard, was nearly killed while guarding Gnarlus with his fellow guards. Suddenly feeling ill, he began to wander away from his associates, but did not get very far before collapsing and coughing up blood. As blood began to ooze on the floor, a poison contained within it colored the blood black and began to singe whatever it touched. Thankfully, Donvyn, John, Gata, and myself, later joined by Lucrezia, were nearby. John's talisman, combined with Donvyn's expert knowledge in restoration magic, saved Elros from death, but only very nearly. Within Elros's armor, a note was found informing us that the attacker was of the Dark Brotherhood. Why Elros was attacked is not for me to say. It is his story to share, not mine. However, for saving Elros's life, Donvyn is now the target.

Last night, the Brotherhood acted again. An assassin of theirs ambushed Donvyn as he walked into the Winery of Sren'ja. Only with...last resort tactics...did Donvyn manage to end the threat. A note was found on the attacker's mutilated corpse. The note gave orders to end Donvyn...and if the assassin failed, all of Sren'ja is to be purged by the Brotherhood.

As I joined Thorthil in burning the decapitated corpse, the body became a cloud of dark ash, eerily taking the shape of a skull. The wind swept the skull cloud into Sren'ja, and there it hung, suspended in the air, for a few moments before finally scattering.

Please, friends, be on guard at all times. Do not wander around Sren'ja without a weapon. I have a sinking feeling that more assassins will be coming...

(OOC) A side story to the main guild story, it seems the Dark Brotherhood is now after us! As if things couldn't get any worse in our little town. A collection of Dark Brotherhood assassins will be causing more trouble this Wednesday during (or slightly after, depending on how things go) the main guild story event at 10pm EST. If you'd like to join the fight against the Brotherhood, be there!

Or, if you're like me, and stabbing things is more your forte, add me, @Sweet_Roll_Thief, as a friend and create an alt. nightblade character with Shadow Cloak, naming it something along the lines of Dark Brotherhood Initiate, Dark Brotherhood Slayer, Dark Brotherhood Deathbringer, and so on. I will send you mail briefing you on attack plans, and Ainoath (@Frestion) will send you a set of lvl 1 Breton armor that is to be dyed black and red.

STORYLINE UPDATE:

The Brotherhood brutally attacked the clan at Sren'ja in three different waves. Injuring many, including the Guard Captain, no one was actually killed. A failed purge, the assassins, except one, were all defeated. In spite of a failed mission, The Brotherhood is relentless. It is very possible more assassins will be sent. Elros, being the original target due to a past intertwined with the Morag Tong, is hoping to somehow settle with The Brotherhood, though plans are still in motion.

The one assassin still alive is currently being held captive and was questioned by Arisel. He has revealed that the contract was taken out on Elros's parents by House Telvanni. Elros sought revenge for the death if his parents, and killed very powerful people. Keeping his past to himself, only a few know exactly why the Brotherhood is after Elros.

Needless to say, be prepared for a couple more assassins appearing Sren'ja.

And so the story continues.

You can blame Kyora for this and her vendetta against Sylvaswift & Sumar. She hates the Clan now too, blaming them for Sylva's change and the way she was treated here by Qa'iit.

Incidentally Sumar has her captured in the thread 50 Shades of Darkness ...beware it is NSFW and graphic violence and stuff will be posted there... dont read if you are squeamish or offended by such.

This is so funny, I was toying with introducing the Dark Brotherhood as going after one of my Characters as well. This will be interesting!

@Sylva: Elros's character has a past tied to the DB. He killed members of the Black Hand after he watched his parents die at the hands of a DB assassin, which is why they attacked him in the first place. There's more info on his character sheet. But we could work Kyora into it too if Kyora would like to be a part of the plot! c:

You will need an alt character. You can make any character you choose as long as you give it an NPC-esq name containing "Dark Brotherhood." There is no need to level said character.

Glad to add another assassin to our ranks. c;

We may have to go over action RP before the event. We don't want godmoding from either side :P

That way we don't stab anyone who doesn't want to be injured, and us assassins don't get totally rekt from the start. xD

@Geargo: We won't stab him if you don't want him to get hurt, I'm sure we'll find other volunteers. If you'd like, you can make "is a bad assassin," as there's only a few assassins right now and we need as many people as possible. It's up to you though, we can manage if you'd rather not. c:

((Sort of? Ainoath, Thorthil, and myself are no longer heading the story line and are not involved as much. Elros has taken it over and has been working with Arquen to continue to progress the story. Arquen has made her own thread though, so I can close this thread if you'd like.))
