So... this is my first character on this site, detailing her past up to the point where the game begins. I don't really like the whole soul-shriven thing, so I'm just going to leave that out, and "dying" in combat is simply her becoming too wounded to fight and falling back to live another day. I hope you guys don't think it is terrible or something >.<;;! Enjoy, I hope!
Name: Myr Stormchaser. Her last name is more title than proper surname, which she is unwilling to disclose to anyone. Her first name is also an abbreviation of her real name, but if she trusts someone, she would tell them her full first name.
Age: In her early 50's
Race: Altmer
Flair: Electric-blue eyes that are always flitting around, searching for something. Hair the color of burnished gold that falls to her shoulders looks well kept, but not styled in any noticeable way. The edges of barely viable tattoos show on her arms, flowing like vines, or maybe waves or clouds, it is hard to tell from you can see. She has a single line of black running through her lips, which appears to be tattooed on as well, though its significance remains unclear. She is always wearing armor of some kind, usually a much worn metal breastplate and greaves, with leathers on the rest of her body. If ever asked to show up in formal wear, she may burnish her armor to a sheen, but it is still dented and gouged in many places.
Personality: Unlike many Altmer, she has no regard for social decorum or traditions. She fills her own glass, she eats off of a knife as often as a fork, and she isn't above telling someone exactly how much she despises them. She has been described as unrefined and rude by most people she has encountered. Not that she cares much. She keeps to herself, working only with others when necessary and doing everything else alone. Whether it is from a dislike of people or a fear of attachment, it is hard to tell, as she rarely opens up to even the people she has worked with for years. Underneath her brusque attitude, she can be charming, if she is in the right mood, and sometimes lets parts of her true self show: A warm, caring individual who is too afraid of the pain of losing anyone to allow herself the simple joys of companionship and love.
Rumors: If you have heard of her, you would only know her by passion for hunting daeda and their worshipers. She may stop in at a local tavern, but only for information. She may be seen in the market square, restocking on potions and silver arrows, or picking up a custom weapon she ordered for a job. Her life seems to revolve around the hunting and slaying of the many denizens from oblivion, making her living from the bits and pieces that alchemists and mages find useful and the coin purses of their twisted summoners. She will rarely take jobs to do other tasks, but her mind and blade are always on her life's work.
Background: Born in the city of Sunhold on Summerset Isle, Myriel (her full name) was the daughter of a well-off alchemist and healer. She spent her days in the wilds outside of Sunhold with her elder brother, an up-and-coming fighter who looked to join the Justiciars, or more commonly known as the Fists of Thalmor. He would protect Myriel from the odd aggressive skeaver or sometimes a stray animal, but for the most part the area around Sunhold was calm. She would collect plants and minerals for her father to use in his work.
On her 9th name-day, however, when she returned home with her brother, she found her father dead, nailed to a wall with ritualistic carvings marring his golden skin. Her mother was nowhere to be found. Furious, and with the surety of youth, her brother took off to search for the killers, claiming that the symbols were daedric, and he had heard rumors of a cult that meets to the north-east in an old ruin. She stayed behind, wandering the streets until dusk in a stupor before a guard noticed her. Only then did she snap out of her haze and realize how long her brother had been gone. She lead the guard to her home. He organized a search party for her brother and mother, and set out to the ruins. Once again, she stayed behind at one of the guard barracks under supervision. When they returned hours later, it was only with grim news: Both her mother and brother had been killed in a similar manner to her father.
From that day on, she has always hated the daedra, especially those of Namira, whose cult was responsible for the death of her family. She spent her early years studying the daedra, learning all she could about them. When she was older, she spent her time studying both with warriors and with mages and scholars, learning martial and arcane arts alike. She knew that she would need both in her fight with the denizens of oblivion in the years to come.
When she turned 25, she could wait no longer as she "Spent her years learning frivolous spells and fighting techniques meant for show rather than fighting." She set off into the world to test her skill and to learn from experience. She failed a lot, at first. Unable to kill even a lowly scamp. But she learned, in time, to use not just her magical and martial might, but also her cunning. Her first kill came after she used magic to push a boulder down a mountain to crush a minor dremora. From that day on, she has spent all her time seeking daedra, learning their weaknesses and strengths, and doing all she can to make the world, even if only slightly, a less vile place.
