Rumors: (Bastinious is typically outwardly calm and composed. He speaks with a confident though quiet voice. His eyes frequently are scanning the room, taking in and evaluating each person. He has had little chance to form friendships so the concept is one he is adjusting to, although he has found the kindness of his new guild has resulted in his warming up faster than he imagined. Inside Bastinious can be like the storms he so enjoys. His anger over the loss of the only family he knew becomes evident only in the heat of battle where he almost happily tosses destructive spells with abandon.)
Background: (I'm going to refine this as I have time.) Bastinious has set out on his own in search of the truth regarding his family. Raised by an elderly sorcerer in a private home far from the major cities in the Summerset isles. Bastinious was told that his parents had died when he was young and that his master had taken him in as his own. Bastinious did not doubt this story until the day his master Died. A pack of the undead, commanded by a Lich obviously familiar with his master, attacked the cottage while Bastinious was away collecting reagents for his master. While able to destroy a number of the creatures, leaving their remains behind for Bastinious to find later, his master was overwhelmed.
Upon returning to the cabin and discovering the remains of the battle a prerecorded magical message in the shape of his Master manifested. It revealed to Bastinious that while his father indeed had died, his mother lived, and.... was of a royal lineage. It is believed that an ancient undead Lich, in a quest for power, had abducted his mother demanding the position of nobility he was "unrightfully" denied in his life. Bastinious was to remain in hiding until old enough for the truth to be known. (more to follow and polish to come)
