Name: Mazor gro-Lurkrn
Age: approx. 40 years
Race: Orsimer
Flair: Very obvious due to his tendency to go bare-chested, Mazor's torso and arms are covered in tribal tattoos
Rumors: Mazor gro-Lurkrn is an Orsimer Dragonknight, born in the Wrothgarian Mountains, who remains a believer in the Code of Malacath. He is a blacksmith and most nights can be found at the forge amid smoldering coals and ringing iron.
Background: Raised to believe in the Code by his father, Lurkrn, who was a great, hulking blacksmith, Mazor is carved from the same mold having wielded a hammer and tongs from an early age, as is the way of the Orcs. His mother, Glasha, was known as a witch among the people of the mountains, for she had forsaken Malacath’s patronage and instead bent her mind to the belief that the Dragonborn would come again to save all people's of Tamriel from Molag Bal.
Upon his father’s death from wounds taken in battle with a warring clan, Mazor was imprinted, literally, with customary tribal tattoos in intricate patterns across his torso, arms and legs, his mother painstakingly tracing the lines carved into his skin with a dark, clay paste mixed from the earth with the blood of Lurkrn. When Glasha made her final journey under the mountains to the Ash Pit, by her own instruction, her blood was used to inlay a second, interlocking pattern of symobls and runes on Mazor’s body, derived from inspiration Glasha found through dream-walking and images from The Elder Scrolls.
Through these ancestral gifts Mazor derives his strength and craftsmanship and he thrives on sunlight, finding the rays to be empowering and rejuvenating. For this reason he is usually without any covering on his upper body, and would go without any clothing if he could. The runes in his mother's memory imbue him with aspects of the Dhovakin, though he is unsure how that hidden knowledge fully works or has come to him. It is under the brilliant rays of daylight that he adventures through the plane of Nirn, smiting what darkness and evil as he can find, driven by the search for memories of his life before being waking in the frozen Hell of Coldharbour. The events that led him there remain shrouded in mist and the steam that billows each time he quenches new metalwork reminds him of that unknown.
Mazor's blood-lust is tempered by the sun, only in that he does not respond to taunts nor is he prone to violence for its own sake. He is content to be thought of as savage and lacking intelligence by others as it gives him the element of surprise when tactfully dealing with merchants and his customers. One of his mostly closely guarded secrets is another skill inherited from his mother, that of brewing fine beers and ales. He is not forthcoming with his brew recipes, but is not rude and will share a drink with friends, deflecting praise to "Orsimer brewmasters" and insisting his supply is shipped to him from the mountains, rather than admit to his own craftiness.
