He changed his name and fled to the Dominion, hoping to make a name for himself in the army. However once it was learned that he had a background as a servant, Avalero became nothing more than a serving boy. Having no desire to repeat his past, he refused reenlistment and returned to the Dominion territories. He went to the Fighter's Guild, finally learning how to fight. Although he has yet to achieve his true dream, he hopes that establishing himself as a world renowned mercenary might enable him to work himself into the hierarchy of the Dominion.
