This topic has come up again when I was speaking to another officer so let us talk about it again and chuck it around to see what we think.

Opening it up to everyone could generate more money for the guild if the proper advertisement was done. We can say its open to everyone but if we dont advertise out of guild there is no point really. This would require some officers just sending out a message in zone chat every now and then about the open raffle we are having and let them know who to send the money to and what not. Work for the raffle guy (me) doesnt really increase much and wont be much unless I have to do all the advertisement. On the topic of whether it is allowed or not, Lucian spoke to a GM and they said it was fine. The only really negative of opening it up to the public is that there is a chance that the raffle pot is won by non guild members, this doesnt bother me but it may bother others so I say we should talk about this again. I dont really lean to the one side or the other of this issue.

I have no issue opening it up to the public. This raffle generates most of our guild revenue anyway, and opening it up to more people will mean a bigger pot. I don't care if a non-guildie wins it, the guild is still making gold from it.

I like the idea of increased revenues. My only concern would be if a guild member wins and then someone outside loudly denounces the draw as fixed. I think we can handle that.

According to the notes from the last officer meeting (yesterday) we had a bottom of the barrel guild store spot because of the bidding prices. If we get outsiders to play, even if a guild member doesn't win, half of that still goes to us and can be put to good use.

If someone calls a fix I don't think it would do much. Maybe non members wont enter, but then it would be like no change anyway from current amount of entries. Non guild members WILL win so eventually no one will care if someone tries to bitch about losing. I don't mind doing advertising for the raffle. I'm sure plenty of us wouldn't mind either. :)

I am ok with it, as long as the officers that are tending it agree as well and don't feel overwhelmed AND if this doesn't get us in trouble.
