AFK - accident

I'm going home sometime this afternoon/evening to see my family. My little brother hit an SUV at 55mph when it pulled out in front of him yesterday. He's okay thank God, but he's hurting. His head hit the windshield and shattered it, leaving a nice gash across his forehead and he can't walk right now because he hurt his hip too. On top of that the poor kid has the flu. He's having a bad week lol

Anyway, my mom needs her oldest daughter for a few days. She's a basket case right now. I will be back either Saturday afternoon sometime or Sunday. I'm shooting for Saturday because of all the homework I have to do D: I am sorry I will be missing yet another guild event, but I really need to be there for my mom. No one in our family has ever been in an accident worse than a fender bender or hitting a deer, so you can imagine how shaken up she is. Plus my brother is over 6 feet tall and my mom is not a big lady, so helping him around the house is a pain for her.

Here's my brother's car. This is the junker he drives back and forth to school so he doesn't spend a fortune in gas driving his pickup.

OMG! That's really scary! I'm glad everyone is OK! And hey, don't worry about it. Real life comes first. I had to take time off to help my BF with his surgery and treatments and when I got back, everyone was still here lol Take care of your family! We'll be here when you get back!

Take the time you need! Thank goodness no one got seriously injured. We will always be here when you get back.

I didn't realize it was that bad either until I took a look at those pictures. He's a lucky kid! And he's also officially on my list of people I'll never get in a car with lol

I figured I would update here since it's easier than explaining over and over in game or on TS.

I want to apologize if at all over this past week I may have seemed rude or pissy in game. So much has happened because of this accident.

My little brother (Jake) was lucky enough to walk away from his accident last week, but little did any of us know it would not be the end to his troubles. This week on Wednesday morning (Oct. 8) his spleen ruptured. My mom found him in his room white as a ghost and hauled him to the ER as fast as she could. He was bleeding internally, his vitals were rapidly dropping.

I got the phone call from my mom when I was in class at my University - 5 hours away. He was being transported on a plane (also known as flight for life) to a regional hospital, putting him 8 hours away from where I live. I had been strong through his accident, but guys, I broke down bawling right in the middle of campus. I am the oldest of my siblings. I have 3 of them, Jake being the older of my little brothers. My siblings and I are close. I thought we were going to lose him. He was dying. He's only 16.

I found out later that it was a State Patrolman who actually saved Jake's life in a way. He needed a blood transfusion before he got on that plane and that officer hauled ass from a neighboring hospital to get him the blood he needed.

Anyway, he got to the hospital and thankfully the bleeding seemed to have subsided. The blood transfusion brought his vitals back up, so he's been in the hospital all week under close watch. As of right now it looks like they will be able to save his spleen and he will be released in a few days.

It's been a terrifying and very emotional week, and it's so hard being so far away from it. Thank you guys for being there for me in TS this week and being so understanding. IC Arisel has been dealing with some flack over a few things, and you guys really helped me out with that stuff this week. Thank you so much. I have a few close RL friends, but you guys are my friends as well.

*Big Hugs* I have two younger brothers too and I couldn't even imagine going through that with either of them. I hope he has a speedy recovery and you get some much needed rest and down time.

*Hugs* Thank you guys. He's on the mend now, looks like he'll be out by Tuesday but still under bed rest. I just feel bad if I seemed rude or anything IC or OOC at all and realized that some might not have known why. Arisel needs a stiff drink and a long nap after this week lol
