Alright, so a few days ago I decided to go on a hunting trip with my old man, just some good old father-son bonding time. We walked out to one of the several elevated blinds we built. As usual we brought our crossbow, being it bow season. We were right next to a bait pile we had set up recently to fatten up some deer and take a few pictures of them. We set up the crossbow in the side of the window, it was hard... because we had to balance it on a the edge, hoping it wouldn't fall. Afterwards I got into a position that I could silently stand up and aim. Pretty much 15 minutes later I heard deer walk through a long trail leading to our bait pile. A small buck, doe, and 8point buck walked up onto the pile and started eating. I stood up shaking so damn hard it was mind-blowing. It took about 5 minutes for the deer to finally turn broadside before I shot. The bolt landed straight through its heart and snapped in half after the deer fell. I nailed an 8point buck, my best yet sadly, it wasn't far too big or too small, decent. So yeah, afterwards we gutted it, and threw its... 'Furballs' on a tree branch... not the prettiest tree anymore... I could have gotten a picture of the deer but it's sliced into backstraps already. They will float in my digestive track... Mmmmm....
