My name is Varick, aka @BloodSniperXI, aka Jo'Zrijhi Talog of Aldmeri Dominion.

I am a 22-year-old college student living on the East Coast--currently going for my Master's Degree. I have been an avid gamer and RPer since I was in middle school. My current-game obsession is the Mass Effect Trilogy. However, this spot will surely be taken by Dragon Age: Inquisition, when it is released. As for MMOs, I have played Runes of Magic and Guild Wars 2. I got into the RP side of MMOs during my time on Runes of Magic.

I have worked for the past five years at a local animal shelter while studying to become a college professor. In my spare time, I am a human, animal, and environmental activist. I am also an avid reader and writer/poet. I write articles for online news sites and special interest sites. Not to mention, I have fostered kittens for my local animal shelter and local animal rescues for the past seven years.

As for hobbies unrelated to gaming/internet, I like putting together model cars, planes, and boats.

Thanks for the responses, everyone. I'm on a lot during the weekend, but due to my work/college-load I am only sporadically on during the week.

I am hoping to start rping on the forum, as it is more accessible from my college and work than ESO. This is due to internet speeds and the ability to rp without having to be in one location for a set amount of time, hoping that someone shows up quickly before I have to go to my next class.

If you are open to the idea, please feel free to message me, as I'm still getting a feel for my main rp character.

Hi there! You sound super cool! It sounds like we have a lot in common. I also love Dragon Age (I played through the first one four times) and consider myself an activist (I have strong socialist, utilitarian leanings). I'm working on my MA in philosophy to hopefully become a professor. What area is your MA in?

You should message me in game sometime! @philosophsdrache

I will definitely message you in game.

I believe class reforms needs to happen, but not to the extent of socialism or communism, as presented in the post-WWII era, but more like social democracies you see in countries like Denmark, Italy, France, etc. Which FDR nearly accomplished with 1944 proposal for a Second Bill of Rights that focused on the economy given in his State of the Union Address.

At my college, I am currently finishing my B.S. in a combined Sociology/Anthropology major and my M.S in Women's and Gender Studies (accelerated degree program). My favorite class at the moment analysis the Post-Modernity Feminist Theories, which definitely have a lot more of a connection to Philosophy than Modernity theorist.

I started with Dragon Age 2, which I know to have mixed reviews among serious fans of the series, so when I saw the trailers for Inquisition I went out and bought everything else related to the game series--and I can't help but love it even more. I am so excited for November 18th.

I also don't mind the Divinity series, although they have a lot slower of a pace.

I like that you are interested in post-modern feminism. I imagine I could learn a lot from you. I think the only post-modern feminist figure I have been exposed to is Judith Butler. Most of my research on feminism has been in more of the analytic tradition. (Unfortunately my department is very analytic heavy and some of my peers are even hostile to post-modernist thought.) My research in general is focused on questions concerning the nature of conscious experience (mostly phenomenology and cognitive science), the self, agency and moral psychology. However, I am always interested in how these themes fit in more broadly in social and political contexts. In my free time I dabble in social and political theory, but certainly not as much as I would like. So, I would definitely love to learn more about your work.

I know a lot of Dragon Age fans were hard on Dragon Age 2, but I still loved it. There were definitely some things that I preferred about it over the original. I am super excited for the new one to come out, but I am waiting until January to get it. :( I am working on grad school applications right now and I'm saving it as my big reward for when I'm done.

I have never played Divinity, but I have heard good things about it. What is it that you like about Divinity? What makes it special as an RPG series?
