She does not care for being "womanly" in both appearance and personality, freely going around topless with just a sports bra and baggy pants for easier movement. Despite her serious personality, Kavata can be humble if she wants to learn something and tends to respect those with strong physical strength. Kavata does not indulge much about her past to others, so little of her past is known. She comes from an Imperial family in Cyrodiil who have trained in the Akaviri Dragonknight arts for generations and is rumored to have descended from the Akaviri themselves. No one knows if it is really true but her appearance suggests a subtle asian look. Starting at the age of 6 her strict training started with sword-wielding and Dragonknight magic. Her father had many high expectations for Kavata and wanted to train her into a fine soldier, so it was uncommon for him to subject her to harsh training regimens. As she grew older, Kavata was only less than average in her sword-wielding skills and her magic use was quite bad, pushing her to develop more of her physical skills instead. She felt unsatisfied fighting with such subpar skills and began experimenting with different fighting styles. This brought opposition from her father who was already disappointed in Kavata for not being able to fight properly with a sword, prompting him to push her training even more to the point of abuse. After having enough of the brutal training and feeling lost, she left home at the age of 17 against her parents' wishes to wander on her own and do some soul searching.
While wandering and meditating, Kavata noted that the beasts of Tamriel fought with only their innate abilities without the help of anything else. Thinking this was a clue to unlocking her true potential she decides to try fighting them on their level with just her physical strength. After taking her first beast down with just her bare hands she felt empowered and enlightened; this was her new purpose now. Weapons and magic were inferior to Kavata and she was free from them. One day in a moment of arrogance, Kavata challenged a giant bear thinking she was invincible. The bear ended up striking at Kavata, fatally injuring her left eye and forced her to retreat as she grossly underestimated it. Her injured eye now serves as a grim reminder to herself to be humble and carefully analyze her opponents.
As time went on, Kavata began developing her own martial arts style taking influence from the Akaviri. The style emphasized self-improvement and constant discipline, along with a policy to keep pushing one's limits. One example of her logic is that if a swordmaster ever lost his sword, he's no longer strong on his own so it is her policy not to rely on any weapons but her own strength to prevail. She looks to the Khajiit who are known to engage in combat with just their claws, hoping to learn from them as well. Thus her adventures led Kavata to Reaper's March, towards the small town of S'ren-ja. She has also expressed interest in joining the Adventurer's Guild, always wanting to do more exploring and training.
