Name: Zankard Darkthol
Age: 35
Race: Imperial
Flair: Has a single scar over his left eye.

Rumors: He's a sellsword, traveling across Tamriel, offering his services to those who can pay enough. He does not pick sides, but he won't immediately turn traitor. Once he builds up a reputation with someone, he won't turn on them, regardless of the pay. Many people believe he is cold due to him not interacting much with people outside of sellsword work.

Background: Zankard came from a quaint family living in southern Cyrodiil. As he grew older, he taught himself the sword and magic, but never really excelled in anything, as he was more or less a jack of all trades. But that didn't stop Zankard from going out into the world, wanting to know more and more about how to become a powerful warrior. Zankard trained and studied as he grew older, gaining more and more experience as time went by. It wasn't before long that almost nobody around the town he grew up in could best him in combat, so he went off to find better opponents to test his skill and better opponents he found, in the forms of Daedra.
Daedra proved to be more than a match for Zankard as he tend to go in over his head in combat against them, nearly costing his life several times. But Zankard was determined to become the strongest and refused to let such defeats keep him down. He continued on his quest to become stronger, determined more than ever. One day Zankard managed to stumble upon a Black Book which allowed him to travel to the realm Apocrypha. Once there, Zankard encountered Hermaeus Mora, with whom he made a deal. If Hermaeus Mora lent him strength and knowledge on how to become more powerful, he would be in the Daedric Prince's service. Hermaeus Mora accepted, but decided to omit what he would eventually desire in return, as Zankard would know what it would be when the time came. Armed with the ability to gain combative knowledge quickly and ancient Daedric magic at his disposal, Zankard decided to become a sellsword, knowing that as he traveled the land, fighting soldiers, beasts, and Daedra alike, he would encounter powerful foes that he would eventually have to learn how to battle and grow stronger from it.
