Name: Caliedaen Dryadales
Nickname: Cal
@name: 10976709
Race: Altmer
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Prefers women
Martial Status: Single--but looking
Physical Appearance:
Cal is shorter than the average male Altmer. He has softer features that give him a feminine vibe about him, including his facial markings and the contour of his body. He tries to hide this fact with the use of a golden Altmer tattoo that covers the majority of his face and by wearing armor that detracts from his figure. His eyes are the color of clear water, hair that would match a dear's fur, and skin darkened by heritage and the sun. He often wears hyper-masculine clothes that incorporate either his pride as an Altmer or bones as a sign of his battle prowess. He is always fully-clothed, but he has a golden dragon tattoo that goes across his upper torso, which you can see hints of on his upper arms.
Personality:
Although not as stuck-up or pretentious as most Altmer, he lives by a high standard, and he voices when those social and living conditions aren't met. Caliedaen is a social creature and needs to have frequent human contact, however he isn't the most high maintenance or needy person, which is to say he likes being around people but doesn't need to be the center of attention. He is alright with small-talk and can take a joke, but he was never the best at being funny or witty himself. He is well-educated with a solid sense of the world around him.
He is an higher up in the Dominion Army, but when not in Cyrodiil or on a military base, he doesn't speak of his rank or position with the Dominion Army. However he doesn't just hide facts about his military career, Caliedaen avoids talking about most aspect of himself. When he is questioned about his life, he gives clipped answers, changes the topic, or avoids saying anything of value--often not ever giving the answer you are looking for. It is possible to know him for long periods of time with the only detail that is known about him being his name. He is a guarded individual and doesn't trust easily. He talks of mistakes he's made in the past and emotional scars, but never elaborates on what they are, how he got them, or who gave them to him.
This isn't to say he is a lone wolf, as he seeks someone he can be close to and connect with, but he is too scared of the consequences of confiding in the wrong person. This isn't to say he is a bitter, hateful person, either, as he loves life and all it has to offer. The distance he keeps people and emotional connections at upsets him, but those scars he speaks of makes him feel as though it is a necessary sacrifice for the way he lives life. This is probably why he likes to be around people--if he can't have cannot become close to people emotionally, he might as well be in their proximity. It is difficult to tell that he carries this sadness and longing within him, as he always offers a smile and easy conversation.
Sometimes this forced distance gets to him, which he deals with by retreating from it all. He'll inform those that ask that he has to travel to a nearby town of something or other. Sometimes he returns to the place that he left and other times he moves on, never returning to those he left behind. Caliedaen tries not to wonder if they wonder about his disappearance or not. Most of this despair and inner turmoil is never even suspected by the company he keeps.
History
Hailing from Mourninghold, Caliedaen Dryadales lived with a single mother and a longer brother after his father, Yanndur, perished when a crew of bandits attacked his father's caravan on his way to Davon's Watch with his wares of fine jewelry and high-quality gems. Not only did they lose Yanndur, the family lost their sole source of income, and, given the jewels and jewelry were never recovered, they accrued a debt to the family that never received their wares. They paid what they could out of the money they had, but they still owed a substantial amount.
In order to help his mother and little brother--an infant at the time--Caliedaen told his mother he'd gotten a job gathering resources for a local blacksmith. In reality, Caliedaen started selling his body through a local brothel that he knew was searching for children, as he had stumbled across one of the clerks when looking for work. He knew it would pay the most.
He continued to work at the brothel until his family's debt was payed off, not willing to leave his mother and sibling to handle the debt alone, but he was not happy living in Mourninghold and being the person they wanted him to be. The day they turned in that last coin to the debt collectors he took off. He ran to Marbruk where he continued his education, earning money by selling his body. As talk of forming the Aldmeri Dominion started, Calidaen showed his pride in his new life and home by training to become a soldier for the Altmer forces, joining the bandwagon for the Aldmeri Dominion soon after its formation. Despite not being from Valenwood or Marbruk, Caliedaen is loyal and whole-heatedly supports the Dominion. It is his life and his love. He places it above all else and has little else.
Rumors:
-Given his guarded nature and mysterious existence, everyone assumes Caliedaen has a secret to hide. Something so dark and so incomprehensible that not even a single word can be spoken about it. He does have a secret, but it isn't nearly as dark and dangerous as rumor holds, but the lack of answers from Cal cause people to think the worse.
-He works for a secret unit in the military that was formed by Queen Ayrenn and Dominion leadership to find and take care of corruption and treason within the Aldmeri Dominion. It is not directly run by the leaders of the Dominion, but he reports to some of the higher ups in the Eyes of the Queen, as leader of this secret division. However, he denies any sort of accusation that says that this is his role in the military. His cover story is that he is a errand boy for one of the Dominion Generals, which causes him to travel from outpost to outpost delivering messages and orders.
