Menelin was once a respected ranger, however, she fell out of both the public eye and practice when she married a Dunmer Mercenary working for House Telvanni, Fedris Aerin. However, when they were separated by the war, she has once again begun trying to regain her arm for the bow. She’s decidedly happy and optimistic to others, however, is truly tormented within, fighting a constant emotional battle with herself. While she is not unstable by any tally, if riled up enough, then she will become mildly violent in regards to anything that is a viewed as a major provocation to her. However, this is not the extent of her emotional damage. She fell off the map for almost three months after she was separated from Fedris. Nobody but her knows where she went, and many believe she worked hits against the enemy, though, in reality, she served as a ‘pleasure slave’ to an Altmer torturer, and harbors a hatred for most Altmer. She is, however, very well practiced in keeping the hatred under wraps, and it almost never rears its ugly head. Almost.
After months spent in Vulkwasten, her brutal rejection by a Dunmer townsman sent her into the wilds of Valenwood to bring herself under control and push away the hurt. It was another month before tragedy befell her on a hunting trip, seeing her life changed forever. A fellow hunter, a Breton, mistook her small frame to be that of an animal's, piercing her with multiple arrows before realizing his mistake and fleeing the scene.
Menelin seemed to have met her end, lying there, dying, were it not for her close friend who had accompanied her on the trip. Thinking in the interested of her best friend, she performed a soul magick, tearing Menelin's soul from her dying body and transferred it to the body of her own. As Menelin lived, her friend died in her stead.
Upon awakening, she found herself irreversibly changed, and utterly bewildered as to her state. For almost two months, she grew steadily used to her new body, though she is still trying to become used to being taller than everyone she comes across. Eventually, she felt it was time to return home, where she was accepted with open arms by those who once knew her.
