Fearful for her daughter, Remilia's mother began to push herself even harder to try and make money to buy rare alchemical ingredients that could potentially save Remilia's vision. As a result, Remilia's mother resorted to prostitution in order to meet ends.
A few more years had passed and Remilia's sight and her mother's mental state had only worsened, causing her to forget the need to care for her daughter as poverty and selling her body constantly to various men drove her mad. But such a peaceful life at the college wasn't meant to last as some of the male students made advances on her as she grew older, trying to take advantage over her blindness. Taking pity on someone who was also blind and knowing their hardships, Augin eventually agreed and took Remilia in. He trained her in the art of combat hearing, so that she would not need to rely on others and could easily defend herself if the need arose. Being a quick learner, Remilia learned how to wield a sword in due time and ended up staying with the general for quite some time as he was kind to her and took care of her. But fate suddenly took a turn for the worst, as one day Augin fall extremely ill due to an illness and passed away, granting Remilia parting words that would encourage to explore the world, trying to find a purpose. The most important quote he imparted onto her was, "People cannot live alone." something that has stuck with her ever since. As she had no family left, wanting to leave behind her past she adopts Augin's last name and moves on.
Now, Remilia travels the lands of Tamriel, playing her lute to make money, trying to discover what her purpose in life is, even if she had a purpose. She didn't know, but she would not stop wandering and playing her lute until she managed to find something.
