Tirdas, 4th of Sun's Dawn
Year 583 of the Second Era
Cyrodiil
Western Elsweyr Gate
I have arrived in the Imperial Heartland with Chryseis, finally. The journey has been long, but not without purpose or use. In our travels through the Valenwood, the friends and allies I have made I will always cherish. Maybe once this war is finally done, we can finally settle, as we have always discussed.
The visions still come to me, always the same, never changing...
I stand at the helm of a great ship, peering off into the endless grey skies. I do not move or speak, and after what feels like hours, the grey rain curtain is seemingly peeled back, leaving behind only a horizon of silver glass. It is then revealed to me what lies ahead...white shores. Beyond them, a far green country, under a swift sunrise. Is thismy our future? Auri-El only knows....
We are staying the night at the appropriately named "Victory Inn" until tomorrow, when the Dominion Commander assigns me a post. As a lieutenant I am not afraid of where we shall find ourselves, I only pray that Chryseis can be kept safe, she is my world, my light. I will keep this journal for the days....months.....maybe years to come. Those around me will say I chronicle the Dominion's victories through the land for generations to come. But the truth of the matter is....I must keep myself grounded. I know what is to come, and though I am not afraid of death, I fear something worse may befall us both if I do not keep my strength.
Chryseis sleeps soundly next to me, her slow, rhythmic breathing and her arms subconsciously finding their way to my torso is the sign that it is now time for rest. I shall write again soon.
