Roleplay School - For those who are new to RP and need help!

Are you new to Roleplaying? Perhaps you just need to brush up on skills and be informed of lore if you're not familiar with the Elder Scrolls world. Then the RP school is just the thing for you! More details on times and availability for classes will be provided soon, so check back!

Here is a list of the curriculum planned, split into three parts: RP Basics, Lore, and Character Development. If you have suggestions on what should be added, send me a pm!

I. RP Basics

Some updates on the role play school!

So, to be clear, the school is designed to be a place to Review and Practice your Role Play skills.

I will be making sure each lesson is designed not only for beginner role players. There will always be a take away for advanced role players, be it how to help others, how to handle problem situations, or constructive criticism from fellow role players.

This is designed to be a Community Learning Experience with an emphasis on having scenarios to practice the art of writing, story and character development, drama and interaction, and all things role play.

So how do we accomplish this? First off, we need to have attendance from as many members as possible. Interactions in role play lessons can be canon if desired, or left as unofficial and practice only. So no matter what, you will always gain something from the session! Be it practice, character development, new characters met, etc.
And as stated, we need people. The more people that show up, the more interactions there can be, the more constructive criticism can be given.

Each session will have a 'leader.' This person will simply go over the particular lesson briefly, give a few examples of the topic being discussed, then lead a role play exercise where the topic can be practiced. Having experienced role players at the session (who aren't leading) helps so inexperienced role players have someone skilled to practice with and offer on the spot constructive criticism.

I would like to shoot for 3 sessions a week, with each day of the week going over the same topic. There are numerous benefits for this. Different leaders might fit better for different role players. Different days might work better for different people. Some role players may want to go over a lesson multiple times (wanting more practice, etc).
We'll see if this is actually attainable (since, you know, I'm asking everyone to do this pro bono :P) For now, we may just find one consistent day and time.

We will also want to try to get EVERY Aldmeri Dominion Role Play guild involved. I don't know how we will accomplish this, but the more we crowd source this, the better. The whole POINT of there being a role play skill in the first place is so officers don't have to say the same thing to EVERY new member. So ideally, we can help all guilds (and help ourselves with higher attendance) by crowd sourcing all the guilds together. (If anyone can help with this, please do! Diplomacy Department, I'm looking at you! >.>)

First off, I love you. -hug-

I can't teach every class. Look at me. I'm a math teacher! I'm no English major. I don't know everything. We need people good at all sorts of different aspects of role play! And I don't have all the time in the world. All I'm doing is organizing the classes. Also... there is no limit to the number of teachers we can have or will need. People will teach different topics, people will have different times of availability, you get the picture.

Before you can lead, I will need you to write up a VERY VERY BRIEF lesson plan on the topic you want to lead.
You can find topics to lead in the outline previously posted.

Your lesson plan should include points to make about the topic, examples demonstrating your topic, and an exercise to practice your topic. (As someone who writes lots of lesson plans, I can get this done in about 30 minutes, but even still it shouldn't take you longer than an hour and a half. If it's taking longer than an hour a half, you're probably getting too detailed.)

Lesson Plans are necessary so we can have a set thing that has been taught, a lesson plan that can be updated and improved by everyone, and if we have multiple sessions, one that can be taught consistently. So PLEASE do so.
