Rumors: He was in deep Cyrodiil prior to the war breaking out, closer to the Alderi Lands, he ran out of the combat area seeking refuge.

Background:
Elridge spent his childhood in Windhelm, learning the smith trade from his father, who ran a small shop at the time, repairing tools and occasionally forging a weapon or two. On their time off Elridge would learn how to fight from both his father and uncle, who had fought alongside each other. Most of their sessions were playful rather then rigorous training. His mother hoped he would take to the smithing trade rather then take up arms.

On occasion Elridge would stay home to sit by the fire and listen his grandfathers stories of war, triumph, downfalls, friends who lived to tell their tales and those who did not. His grandfather with them after the death of his grandmother, who was taken by old age in her sleep.

In 2E 572 Windhelm was attacked by an Akaviri invasion led by Ada'Soom Dir-Kamal. The invaders slew Queen Mabjaarn Fire-Hair and her daughter Nurnhildem. Eelridge and his father were working in the shop when the invaders busted down the doors. His father was killed and Elridge ran home, fighting invaders along the way, and ducking down when he had to.

When he reached his home, it was ablaze, with the door barred. Elridge broke down the door to find his family laying in the doorway, unable to get out, and burnt to a crisp. After this sight, he fled the city to Riften.

It was in Riften that Elridge heard Jorunn the Skald Prince and Wulfarth the Ash King were rallying the Nords to fortify Riften. After seeing the horrors of Windhelm, and wanting revenge, Elridge gladly helped to defend Riften from the same fate.

Dir-Kamal's forces marched past Riften, ignoring the city, then headed towards Mournhold. Elridge followed the army that Joruun and Wulfarth had amassed in pursuit of the Akaviri forces that decided to ignore them. Dir-Kamal and his forces now caught between the army of Nords, and an army of Dunmer led by Almalexia who were in turn aided by the Argonian shellbacks, were broken and forced back to the sea, where many drowned.

After these events Elridge had no home to return to, he decided to travel Tamriel exploring the lands outside his own
