Excerpts from wanderers book....

Day 10:
I would have written something sooner but Esoldce my nanny was in such a hurry. She was so scared when she hurried me from bed. She begged me to be quiet as I got dressed and under the cloak of night in a heavy cowl she lead me from home. I still don't know what this is about or why we have to hide from my parents. At least these nice khajiit gave me this journal. Why did I have to leave?

Day 30:
Every night we leave for someplace new, sometimes it's nothing better than a tent. I just started my sword training before we left. We had to leave my nanny said because my parents were doing something wrong and she didn't want to see me swept up in it. I wish she'd tell me exactly what it is. I am thirteen I may still play with dolls but I started my knight training over the summer. Why couldn't we have gone to Lady Tivella? I was her squire if my parents were truly bad she would have took us in. For as long as our name goes back the first born of House Camaen faithfully served the throne.

Month 12:
It's been a year, things have gotten bad. Pictures of me and Nanny Esoldce hang in every barrack with a reward for my return and a bounty for her head. No doubt my parents doing. She finally told me three months ago. My parents were part of some isolationist group, my mentor too. They were going to send me to some "camp" for re-education. Apparently my world view no longer fits theirs. Apparently the fact I chose to follow Mara appalled them. It all makes me sick to my stomach. It doesn't help I can't remember when we had a good meal. So few will hide us now. We'll have to leave Summerset soon.

Year 2:
It's all the news from the town criers the last few days. House Camaen has fallen, both my parents were executed for plotting against the crown. And yes their only daughter still missing. I don't look so much like the child in the posters anymore. In Auridon we can walk about a little more freely as long as I never tell who we really are. I learned to be careful I never give my family name..ever. I picked up work as a tavern wench..of all things. It's a bit humiliating but the road has been hard on Esoldce she needs a warm bed. I swear if one more person grabs my..uggh! No matter it earned enough for a decent blade I practice my swordplay when I am off. There is a local Khajiit willing to teach me what I should have learned in my squireship. Next I shall save for armor.

Year 5:
Esoldce passed away in her bed. She kept saying she was sorry she should stay. I told her it was alright. I will be alright. I am about to pack and leave. There is a whole world of things to learn and I am no tavern wench. The next person that grabs something they shouldn't is going to get a sword to their throat. Seems my parents were in some cult that became this "Veiled Inheritance". I want to join the dominion army but they will want more them just a first name. If they find out who I am they may think I am just like them, my parents. I know I wouldn't be hung, I don't think. I know I had no part in it but ..I am afraid. No it's best I keep to myself I worked hard I can harness some magic and swing a good sword, Sell sword is what I will do..for now.

Year 10: (A new start)
I was passing through Malabal Tor in the Valenwood when it was getting dark so having some coin I decided to get a room in a Bosmer Village. Even a dry hammock seemed much better than my wet tent. It never seems to stop raining here. I am beginning to think it's more patches then tent but my gold goes to equipment. I get work based on how competent I look. No one sees my tent. I even tried that horrid Rotmeth! Gods what will the Bosmer not eat or drink? At least no one asks too many questions. Too many questions always makes me think it's time to go. Several Khajiit seem friendly I may stay a few days, see if there is work. There seems to be some group watching over this place. I went to a tournament of sorts. It was actually one of the better days I had in quite some time. No one asked for a family name, perhaps I could use a rest the world can wait a day, or two.

Day 2:
I think this is the first time I ever planned to be in the same bed since Esoldce died. I hope she is happy wherever she is and she's not fretting over me. Maybe Rotmeth is a acquired taste, what am I writing!? Ughh, at least there is this Dunmer that seems happy enough to buy me some decent Altmer wine. Never met one before, heard a lot of bad things he doesn't seem to be. Malyne he said his name was and second in command of the guard here, they were hiring. Maybe I could..uggh here I am again but, I am so tired of having no place permanent. If they will put a Dunmer in command maybe they will take in a wandering Altmer.

Day 3:
The Dunmer is back in the tavern again, and yeah free drinks again! Maybe it's the second glass talking but he's not so bad looking. He's certainly pleasant I can't say I mind his company. A few others are nice too. There's this little bosmer woman Menelin, she seems sweet under what is very odd behavior. Very attached to a kitty hat, at any rate her antics are amusing and despite them I rather like her. Maybe I will stay just a few days more.

Day 4:
Both Malyne and Menelin are back, there is a deaf khajiit too that has wandered into town, I feel badly I can't talk to her as easily as everyone else. Am I really here four days? I should pinch myself but I am running out of gold. I am going to have to go back to my tent soon. If I didn't know any better I am beginning to suspect Malyne has took a liking to me maybe just a friendly sort. I haven't had a friend since Esoldce died. I suddenly feel a bit lonely not to mentioned scared. It's terrible being all alone, it's horrify to be around people too long, always the "what if'? What if they find out about my family? Then what? Asked to leave at worst I hope.

Day 5:

Compliment after compliment, he's rather sweet not at all what I would expect. Maybe I will join the guards here, something a bit more permanent. In Valenwood I am certainly far enough away from Summerset. Who would look for me here, who would even be looking for me now? Probably no one. When did I become so paranoid? You know what? It's time to stop counting days from events. I am officially deciding to stop counting. At ten years plus.

((from here on the latest entries no longer have dates))

I've decided I defiantly like Malyne he has a quiet sort of nobility about him. He tries to hide some of it at times. I wonder why? I wish he wasn't a dumner. I suppose it doesn't matter the world thinks I am dead. There is no longer some idiotic, unspoken rule regarding purity of race I have to follow or arranged marriage into a noble family. Honestly it amuses me to imagine the look on my parents face if I did bring him home. But they're dead and Tamriel is no doubt better off for it. I feel bad hating my parents so much. Even now years later it hurts to think they wanted to change who I was.

I should have never told Menelin my worries! Here I thought I found a friend, a kindred spirit. She went and told Malyne that it concerned me he's not a Altmer. I am not even sure exactly what she said only that is was hurtfull. I found him 5 bottles deep in liquor. She can decide to hate me, that I somehow stole him from her all she wishes. She once told me I deserved him more, I didn't believe it till that night. How can you claim to care about them then be so wicked as to hurt them that badly? I was told she left town, if she returns I intend to have a few words.

It's been a long time since I sat down and wrote so much has happened. So so much, I don't know where to begin. Malyne professed his love for one thing. I knew it, I knew it days before but I didn't say anything. I knew within a few days of meeting him we'd be together. I suppose I am just not one to tell things. Sometimes I hurt so badly for him when he gets in these angry or sad moods. I can still see the good person inside him despite all the times he tries to tell me he is not.

Those moment of anger seem to come faster now that he's a bit. I didn't write it yet I had to decide how I feel about it first. I am not sure I am all right with it, that doesn't seem to be correct. I accept it happened and he is still him, part of me wishes it hadn't. For awhile especially after he gave the ring that kept him from become a werewolf; I would worry that I would awaken to find one leering over me. It hasn't happened, he seems to be in control of that, I hope.

As for me, things are going well enough. I try to do a good job as a guard. I try to be welcoming to the new faces in town especially after the while Maomer inccident. Namely a Nord named Baulder, sadly not everyone else is so nice to him he tells me. He's a bit rough about the edges but not so bad once you get past all that. Sadly it seems the racism got to him I haven't seen him about town anymore. There is a new Altmer as well who seems pleasant he has good manners and a rather snobby Imperial.

The only down side is someone is looking for me, someone out there beyond my safe haven of Vulkhasten knows who I really am.

Seems the Imperial was hired by Seoron that obnoxious brat my parents wanted me to wed years ago. Well they are dead and traitors I see no reason to have to follow their wishes. He's the least of my concerns. I am worried about Malyne. He's become distant as of late, not to mention he remains so quick to anger. With Eranor injured and the Treethane missing it seems like everything is falling apart. I don't always agree with what Malyne does at times but I never say such. Even if I disagree I defend his actions because that is just what a good soldier does.

I really don't know what to do. I will figure out how to deal with Seoron on my own Malyne doesn't need anything else on his plate. Maybe I can..no, I don't know I just feel like I am being selfish to put anymore burdens on him. I have never seen him look so ..rough, not put together. All I can think of to do now is just be stronger he doesn't need me bursting into tears as much as I want to. My only choice is to act surer and certainly braver then I feel for his sake and to just...
