History and Characteristics:
The Suliel dynasty resided in High Rock for generations until, decades ago, a schism developed, the cause of which is now long forgotten. The Suliel clan split off from their Breton brethren, leaving their homeland and journeying south, drawn to a more temperate climate and toward their elven kin from ancient days. Of that elven blood, Bretons retain only a trace, but it was physically manifested amongst the Suliel dynasty more than most, imbuing them with exceptional height and noticeably tipped ears. Perhaps it is for this reason that the Suliel clan ultimately relocated to elven lands. Finding little in common with the haughty Altmer, the Suliel family instead settled amongst the Bosmer elves in the outskirts of Valenwood.
It was there that Hyrem Suliel was born to a family devoted to magic and the exaltation of the Eight Divines, though primary worship was reserved for the elven deity, Magnus. In addition to his magical studies, Hyrem took great interest in learning the history of the various races of Nirn. He spent many nights awake by a dwindling campfire, engrossed in swashbuckling tales of the Redguards and their renowned swordplay. Hyrem eventually chose to study the ways of the Templar, deeming their affinity for spellcasting and close combat weaponry to be in accord with his own burgeoning skills.
Upon completion of his apprenticeship, Hyrem traveled the land for three years, offering aid and coming to appreciate the various cultures he encountered, particularly the neighboring Khajiit and the more distant and mysterious Dunmer. With the outbreak of war, Hyrem returned home to find the Suliel clan in Valenwood divided, most choosing to ally themselves with the Aldmeri Dominion of their new homeland, but some choosing to return to High Rock and stand with their fellow Bretons and the Daggerfall Covenant. Sensing noble character in the newly returned Queen Ayrenn, and devoted to defending his Khajiit and elven friends, Hyrem swore his allegiance to the Aldmeri Dominion.
Affable, quick-witted, and compassionate, Hyrem is also trusting, often too trusting. He sees the best in people, and generally prefers negotiation and diplomacy over charging into a fight. He is a seeker of lore, supplementing his adventures with deep studies of the cultures and relics he encounters. While fully devoted to the Dominion's cause, Hyrem is nevertheless fascinated by his Breton kin in High Rock, feeling a strong bond with them and a desire to see their lands with his own eyes one day.
