Rumors: An old guar herder on a pilgrimage to the holy shrines across Tamriel. Rumored to have had a few grand adventures in his youth; Now just an elderly Khajiit looking to pay respects to his ancestors, in hopes of discovering clues to his past.
History: "The best place to hide anything, is in plain sight...at least that's what this one's father had always taught Holy Molar. However, this one has also heard the same guidance from others before. The problem with good advice is, if it's recommended by the majority, it can also searched for by the authority. That could just be this one being overly cautious, but it's also what's kept this one alive throughout the years." -Holy Molar
Holy Molar was raised by his father, to be a smuggler that acted under the guise of a Guar Herder. The father and son would travel Tamriel in an almost robin-hood esque fashion. Reclaiming stolen artifacts, paintings, or other objects of culture, and returning them to their rightful inheritor; Hiding a majority of their recovered goods among the livestock, or in some rare cases, inside the stomachs of the livestock in order to evade discovery. Remote temples or shrines became a key place of interest, as their halls were often desecrated and holy relics looted.
The young Khajiit and his father assumed the role of shepherds and provisioners, leading their flock in a pilgrimage to visit tamriel's sanctuaries. At each temple, the two would pay tribute, trade goods, and take a quick respite before continuing on with their journey. During the stay, the khajiit's father would confer with the temple's monks, and ask about certain rumors heard throughout their travels. Upon returning the lost artifacts, the two would refuse payment, but were often given small donations of supplies or other goods instead. Over the years of helping to aid and restore numerous shrines, the monks would occasionaly jest and refer to the two khajiits as the temple's "Holy Molars".
It was a necessitous life, but the preservation of tamriel's history and culture was the only ambition on the father's mind. However, the father constantly avoided questions his son asked about their home or heritage. Claiming he was too young, and that he'd answer his questions after he grew older. Unfortunately, the father contracted a fatal illness known as the Knahaten Flu, and died before he could provide any answers to his son's inquiries. The young khajiit also suffered the flu shortly after his father passed away, but was able to survive the virus with the help of an argonian monk who resided at the temple.
Following his recovery, he adopted the name of "Holy Molar", to honor his father's legacy. Holy Molar continued on to have many adventures in his youth, and made several firm connections throughout the land. Although no journey is without it's many hazards. His flock was once killed by a hungry werewolf and nearly lost his life trying to protect them. Gravely wounded, he was infected with the Sanies Lupinus disease and succumbed to Hircine's will in order to survive. Knowing he could no longer travel the towns and temples, until he could control these lycanthropic powers, he resided to the wilderness to try and understand his new abilities.
After spending several years conditioning his skills in the forests of tamriel, Holy Molar decided to get back on track, and continue on with his journey. With no flock, or a single cent to call his own, he decided to utilize his new abilities as a bounty hunter. Rather than hunting down stolen items, he decided to hunt down the bandits responsible for looting them. He was successful for a several seasons, relying on old contacts he had made throughout his travels. Until he was captured, after failing to kill the leader of a powerful bandit tribe. Forced to fight in the tribe's arena, against a number of tamriel's vicious creatures. By the time Holy Molar escaped, he was almost unrecognizable by any of his past acquaintances. His face and body were dressed in scars and covered by wrinkles. His left eye, having been taken in the arena, was now hidden by a coarse leather patch. Taken to the drink, he spent several months accompanied by self-pity and doubt.
It had been nearly three decades since his father's death, and he was still nowhere closer to realizing his initial ambition. To fight and preserve tamriel's culture and history, while hoping to uncover clues to his own past and ancestral heritage. As a Khajiit over 60, he was determined to resolve these answers before he becomes a part of the history that he's been fighting to uncover. With his morale revitalized, Holy Molar embarked on a voyage to the city of Vulkhel Guard. In order to purchase new gear, new guar and new gourds to store plenty of the regional wine; with which to accompany him on his lifelong quest.
