*Melane is 14 years old at this time. She picks up a empty book and begins to write in it*
Journal entry one.
Mother said I should start writing in a journal. Said it will help me reflect on things and express my thoughts without saying them out loud. Me and Anna played today. It was fun! And she also taught me how to use the bow today. Tomorrow she is taking me hunting. I hope I get a big one! It has been scaring me.. Father has been out alot lately getting drunk and it has been stirring his attitude big time.. *Melane rubs a recent bruise on her arm*
It has been worrying Mother as well.. I.. I shouldn't think about it. Only makes things worse. But its hard to stop thinking about it.. Everyone in this household getting beaten beaten and beaten even more.. Gods watch over us.. I'm exited today. Me, Anna, And Mother are all going to see Menelin! I'm sure it will be a ton of fun. We are going to have a big feast.
I can't wait! Only 2 more hours and I'll be eating good grilled Venison. Y'ffre! I need to stop thinking about all of it. It's making me hungry. This was fun. I will be looking forward to writing more in this journal. I'm gonna go prepare myself.
