I'm sorry again guys, I can't make this meeting. I've got family obligations I've got to fulfill. I'd appreciate it if someone could take notes so that I can read them later, if possible. Thank you. <3

-Check-ins
  • Roster
  • Diplomacy
  • Scribe
  • Commerce
  • RP: Mullet & RJ are working on the next story as this one plays out

-RP attendance issue
  • How do we bring more people in for events?
  • How do we make events/stories more engaging?
  • Nelly suggested we start taking attendance and have a mandatory event attendance number. I'd personally think if we did this it should be really reasonable, like 1-2 events a month for members and 2 events a month for officers (auctions included as events). She also suggested we kick people after 2 weeks of not logging in, which I think is too short of a time, but this could be something opened up for discussion.

-We need more people to help do events. Someone (I forget who) suggested maybe we rotate the officers available at event times to help with that?

-Anything else?

I wanna post this idea now, so we have opinions formed by the time we speak tonight.

Problem:
How we bring more people in for the events? Let's face it, we are only one of our members five guilds, alot of people don't even look at guildchats, or pay close attention to them.

Solution:
Maybe sending a whisper to new and possibly even older members before the event is going to start, politely telling them something along the lines of...

"Hey [@name] our RP event is about to start at [location], you're more then welcome to join if you want to jump into the RP"

It's hard for new members to jump right into things, especially when alot of members have known each other for so long. Have inside jokes, and are already close together. We need to take a step back and welcome these new members into our circle.

Now on a side note, most of the time their response will be "what's the event?"

Problem:
Not everyone will want to join an adventure into the delves, or just conversation in the tavern, or hunting in the woods, or a caravaan, etc. etc. it just doesn't always suit their character. So telling people "it's a surprise" is a big issue.

Solution:
For the reason above we should be able to give those that want it, a basic idea of what the event is for that night. This means, ideally, that every officer should have access to the knowledge needed to answer this question. I would recommend we start a thread in the centerstage that shows the progress in major stories, as well as a couple minor story ideas. Before we discuss this idea, I want to point out that the thread would be for ideas on what "could" happen, not set in stone what is going to happen.

- Auction: we really need to address this event as frankly its been getting bad lately with attendance and getting items in. We have 20-30 people online at the time, but maybe we get 5 members to come to the auction.

What we need to do: 1 - increase advertisement, I dont know who is running zone adds but I dont think many are getting done at all. I would like to have a zone add run shortly before the auction starts especially.

2 - to increase guild attendance maybe try to bring back the rp at the auction in higher amounts, I see people around this time wanting to rp and if we get the auction back to be a place where they can rp at that would increase numbers and should help.

- Changing up recruitment/how people can get into the guild: I had this idea and then talked to Aneova about it. Basically change it to be that we can invite people in game without them having to have applied to the website. This would be easier to get people to join and could boost recruitment. The applying to website would still be a requirement to become to full member status as you need to get your character sheet done on there anyways.

The reason we creeated the application mandate on the website in the first place had been to protect from our bank being raided. However now as the bank is only open to full members an application on the website wont affect that.

Looks like our problem in general is guild event (auctions included) attendance.

3. Member of the week rewards: Perhaps have a small mail with a small reward for the member of the week as a thank you for their contribution to the guild.
