Papa used to write a lot about his days. He said that it made him feel better, so I'm going to do it too. I'm not upset, though. I think he doesn't write anyone because he's really happy, and he only wrote when he was sad. But I still want to write.
Papa got married last night. I was there with Ylir and Grandpapa, but we didn't stay a long time like Elsy did. Papa took Ylir and I home and talked to us and put us to bed not long into the reception. I felt kind of bad he had to leave his own wedding and he couldn't stay and enjoy himself with Elsy because of us. I told him that, too, but he just smiled and said it was okay. He said the wedding reception wasn't the most important part of the wedding, it was pretty much just for the guests to eat a bunch of food and give gifts.
He stayed with us for a long time. He gave us both a bunch of kisses, and asked us how we felt. I said that I was really happy and Ylir just nodded. Then he said that Elsy loved us very much. I told him that I knew she did, I could tell. I love her very much, too, but I didn't say that to him. I was sleepy and I didn't feel like talking much.
This morning, Grandpapa explained to us that Papa and Elsy will probably be gone for a couple days spending time together. He said that's what people do after weddings. That made Ylir a little sad, because she wanted to see them, but it made me happy because I knew how happy Papa was. Elsy makes him so happy. Sometimes I'll see him stop doing whatever he's doing and just smile, and I know he's thinking about her. That makes me so happy. I got tired of seeing Papa sad, and now he doesn't have to be anymore. And me neither.
Papa said last night that Elsy asked if we'd call her Mama, and he said to do that because it would make her feel good. That will take getting used to, but I want to. I've never had a mama before. Hm.
The passage is written in shockingly neat handwriting. One would think a five-year-old wouldn't be able to read and write so fluently, let alone comprehend more than basic grammar. Wyndhenir is a smart waffle.
